For me... it takes a while to get going. It's a journey alright, but by the time you get half way through... wow. Being intro'd to Burial was something quite special. I now have his untrue album. And I like the fact he keeps himself to himself. KMA then ups the game and is well... sick as fuck. WK7... ditto... and the Villalobos throws his two pennies worth in... Then, just when you think Four Tet are going to bring it down a bit, around 50secs in, that fimiliar techno beat comes through, layers upon layers... The rest reminds me of the start. It's clearly all awesome, but goes back on the eclectic band wagon.

Heard this full package this week and well... I like. The original is poppy, but simple. The Cosmonauts one is going down the electronic disco theme I reckon, but the Jozif 'terrace' mix is right up my street... surprise surprise. All in all, a solid EP from Kismet Records.

This is a new track, from a Rob da Bank live session, recorded in May 2011 at Maida Vale studios and broadcast on BBC Radio 1. A version of 'You Need Me On My Own' will feature on the debut album from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs released in January 2012.
I like it. It reminds me of an older, but newer Hot Chip, d'ya get me?

Jamie Woon | Night Air (Solomun Edit) | Unreleased
This has been a great week for findings! This time, it's a big thanks to a new blog I've come across known as s'il vous plait. Now, I've been on iTunes and couldn't find this release, but it seems the remixer Solomun has uploaded the track as a free mp3 download on his soundcloud anyway. Turn it up, turn it down, I don't really care... just make sure you listen to it. It's super.

Miguel Campbell | Something Special | Hot Creations
So after falling out of love with the slow bpm's for all of 3 weeks, this drops in my facebook feed. Now, I saw Miguel Campbell during the Wolf + Lamb Vs Soul Clap DJ Kicks tour... shit do those guys know how to have it, and why not hey? Mixing was very questionable at times, but when you're having as much fun as these guys were... I'm inclined to say fuck it. It's all about the tunes with this lot anyway.
So Miguel Campbell, few bits and bobs on beatport, very involved in playing the Leeds scene over here in the UK. Seems like a nice guy and based on his online presence, he's definitely from a cooler, less obvious side of town than many of your current artists 'making it'.
After hearing a painfully short, but addictive clip on YouTube, I began the research. Looks like this is out late in the summer, but Wolf + Lamb friend Lee Foss has already added it in his Modern Amusement Podcast a few months back. The whole set is actually quite brilliant, and very much in-keeping with his peers, but the track in question can be found at 42mins.

Jamie Jones | Fabric #59
Tumblr media
Right. With this, I really don't know where to start. Jamie Jones... what can I say. I'm clearly a fan in a strictly non-sexual way. Although some of his sets can be fucking gorgeous. But seriously, when I found out that he was on the Fabric London release schedule, a smile did spread from ear to ear... and next month we have Four Tet - my membership is finally paying off!!!
"It’s important to have something people can identify with. Someone said to me recently the good thing about mine, and the whole Hot Natured style, is it appears to a wide age range, because the music is never too hard. It’s about having fun with music and never serious. We’re about enjoying quality music, having fun with your friends and living and breathing the party and the music together." - Jamie Jones
The whole set moves between all those lovely deep, warm and slow paced beats, but every now and again finds that little hook or catch, that just makes your foot start tapping... unbeknown to yourself of course... beware! But for me, the peak was the use of Felix Da Housecat's Madame Hollywood, a track that got endless plays at after-parties when I was at uni, and of course also well know for the Tiga edit. Good times, and many more smiles. This CD has already been put onto harddrive, iPhone and is currently in the car. It will not be collecting the dust that so many of it's partners in crime are sadly subjected to.

Sasha feat. Krister Linder | Cut Me Down | Last Night On Earth
OK, so i'm back on it now. I work in music every bloody day, so how I can't put digital pen to digital paper once every now and again is beyond me. If i fail this time, it's over. What made me want to have another crack? Sasha did. This new production is something very special for me. With a world that currently craves big baselines and repetitive house synths... it's sooo nice to witness something more complex. Can you imagine hearing this at an outdoor festive with thousands of other rather... oh.my.fuck!
This is said to be Sasha' first vocal track in more than 10yrs, (featuring Krister Linder) and has an additional edit from Layo & Bushwacka! - well that's never going to be a bad thing is it?! Plus, I love the artwork. Thoughtful.

We are pleased to be sending the second release from One Eighty. This time a massive original from rising star Nick Galea, featuring the vocals of Amba Shepherd and a huge mix from Kim Fai. Following on from his remix of the classic 'Under The Water' - which received great support from Tiesto, 'In My Life' is a huge summer anthem full of tasty piano hooks and mesmerising vocals. Kim Fai, widely supported across the globe by the likes of Steve Angello, Mark Knight, Axwell and Pete Tong delivers a remix of the highest quality. Taking the original to a whole new level, this is definitely worth checking out. Hope you all enjoy another great release from One Eighty.

Nicolas Jaar - Can't See What Is Burning There (DJ KICKS)
Tumblr media
I genuinely can't get enough of this guy. Nico Jaar, quickly becoming one of the pioneering characters of a totally new wave of electronic music. The slower the BPM the better. Saw the Wolf + Lamb / Soul Clap tour live recently. This whole thing is something I've been on for about two years, but to see it live is really something special.

My love for Annie Mac has somewhat lessened since dubstep came into her life, but the fact is, she's still smashing some amazing tunes. I've just got older and less 'with it'. Today, as part of her Free Music Monday - she's giving up a Dark Sky edit... it's well cheeky! ;)
