Trigger warning: depiction of a dissociative episode, misconception concerning the sentience and sapience of a being. Warning for Jason's language and use is Zalgo text
=============‹«⟨∞∆∞⟩»›=============
Jason was... Well, he was a lot of things, but terrified was near the top of the list. He'd seen and experienced a lot of crazy shit since trying to steal the tires off the batmobile, including his own death and revival, but having control of his body forcefully taken from him by what he could only assume was the Lazarus Pit was by far the most insane and terrifying thing he'd ever experienced. Not even the Joker had made him feel this hopeless, he'd still been able to run his mouth then, but this? This was like sitting in the driver's seat of a high-tech hyper realistic RC car, frantically stepping on all the pedals, pressing all the buttons, flicking all the switches, and trying with all your might to crank the steering wheel, and all of it doing jack shit. You're stuck watching out the windshield as the car goes flying across the haphazard track, your seatbelt is locked, the doors don't even open from the inside, and nothing you do makes a damn difference as someone else takes you for a joyride.
Of course, he's the fucking Red Hood, he wasn't gonna let the Pit just do whatever the fuck it wants, hell no! He'd successfully fought the thing off during the height of his pit madness and homicidal tendencies, there was no fucking way he was gonna let the Pit use him to murder a kid!
"W̸e̷ ̴d̷o̴ ̵n̵o̵t̷ ̵m̸u̵r̷d̴e̵r̶ ̵c̵h̴i̸l̸d̶r̷e̵n̶!̷" Came a voice from inside his head. It was unlike anything he'd ever heard, like a gestalt of different voices from all different walks of life. Time seemed to be endlessly slow as he/it/they screeched a war cry and took off.
"Oh yeah? Why the fuck are we charging the kid, then?!" Jason yelled back. It was weird, his voice was both echoey and soundless at the same time. He didn't like it.
"H̸e̶ ̴i̵s̶ ̴c̶h̴i̷l̷d̶/̸i̶n̶f̴a̸n̴t̵/̵l̸o̴n̴e̷l̴y̷/̴k̷i̸n̸g̷.̵ ̵H̴e̴ ̶i̷s̴ ̶U̸n̵C̸l̶a̵i̸m̸e̶d̶.̶ ̵H̴e̶ ̸i̶s̶ ̵O̶u̵r̷s̷ ̸n̵o̷w̴.̴" As the Pit said that, Jason watched through green tinted vision as the Pit disarmed the goon, extracted the kid, and outright threw the goon into the wall to the side of them. As soon as the goon was out of the way, the Pit adjusted the kid so they were cradling him, and suddenly Jason was drowning in overwhelmingly foreign feelings of comfort/safety/claimed/calm/peace/safe as distinctly nonhuman sounds came from their mouth.
He'd like to say he'd managed to claw his way out from under the flood of emotion by himself, but that'd be a lie, and he tried not to lie to himself too often. It was the sound of a sudden, sharp, almost adorable little frustrated chirp the kid let out that let him breach the surface and actually think again. "What the hell was that?" Jason asked. If his consciousness needed to breathe, he'd be gasping right about then.
"H̴e̷ ̸w̵a̶s̷ ̵p̶a̵n̵i̷c̵k̶i̷n̵g̵.̶ ̵W̵e̸ ̴r̶e̸s̵p̵o̷n̵d̶e̸d̴ ̴a̵p̶p̶r̶o̶p̴r̸i̶a̷t̵e̷l̵y̵.̸ ̷W̸e̷ ̸a̸p̷o̶l̸o̶g̵i̶z̶e̴ ̶f̷o̵r̷ ̷s̸m̴o̴t̴h̸e̵r̵i̷n̷g̸ ̴a̶ ̶p̴a̷r̸t̷ ̵o̸f̴ ̸U̴s̷.̵" The Pit sounded genuinely apologetic, but he wasn't sure he trusted it. Their head turned and Jason saw the rest of the Bats arrayed in wary stances, with Damian taking the lead. He said something about wanting to check on the kid in their arms, but that they could keep hold of him. He could see how much B wanted to protest that, but a sharp gesture from the kid silenced that Bat. "W̴e̴ ̵d̸o̵ ̷n̶o̶t̶ ̷k̷n̵o̷w̷ ̶t̵h̸e̸ ̶o̷n̷e̶s̵ ̶b̵e̶h̶i̴n̶d̷ ̴u̵s̵.̴ ̸A̸ ̶p̵a̶r̵t̴ ̷o̸f̴ ̶U̴s̸ ̵d̷o̵e̴s̶.̸ ̷C̶a̷n̷ ̷W̴e̷ ̷t̸r̶u̶s̵t̸ ̴O̵u̶r̷s̶ ̴w̵i̴t̸h̵ ̴t̸h̵e̴m̵?̸"
Jason thought about the question for a bit. He was fairly certain, as long as Damian was the one taking the lead, they'd be fine. Since Bruce was letting the kid take point, Tim was more likely to follow along, and Dick would only jump the gun if the kid looked injured or terrified out of his mind, which he was neither. In fact, the kid was making some of the cutest fucking noises he'd ever heard, nevermind they didn't have any right coming from a very human looking kid. "We should be good, so long as the baby bird is in control, he seems to grasp the situation better than the rest," he finally replied.
"V̶e̸r̴y̸ ̵w̵e̴l̸l̶.̸ ̸W̶e̸ ̸w̷i̶l̴l̷ ̴t̵r̵u̷s̶t̷ ̷t̷h̵e̵ ̶B̸a̴b̵y̶ ̶B̵i̶r̶d̵,̵ ̶a̸s̷ ̴p̶a̶r̵t̵ ̷o̶f̷ ̸U̶s̴ ̵c̶a̸l̴l̴s̵ ̶H̷i̵m̶.̸" They slowly turned around, the kid held protectively within their arms, though visible enough for the Bats to be able to determine he was okay.
They all stared at each other, waiting for someone to make the first move. Jason was getting ready to make a sarcastic comment about the stalemate when the kid spoke up. "Hey, so, uh, I'm Danny, it's nice to meet you all."
Oh shit. How could a teenager be so adorable? "I have never thought of a kid as adorable, what the fuck?"
"H̴e̴ ̷i̵s̷ ̸O̵u̶r̸s̵.̵ ̶H̵e̴ ̶i̸s̶ ̶C̶l̷a̶i̴m̶e̵d̷ ̷b̵y̸ ̵U̴s̶.̴ ̵H̵e̶ ̶w̶i̴l̸l̶ ̶a̶l̷w̸a̷y̸s̶ ̶b̸e̴ ̷a̴d̶o̴r̷a̶b̸l̵e̵ ̷t̵o̶ ̶U̸s̴,̸ ̵e̴v̴e̵n̷ ̶t̶o̶ ̴a̷ ̵p̴a̶r̸t̸ ̷o̷f̴ ̵U̸s̸ ̵t̸h̵a̵t̸ ̸i̷s̶ ̷n̵o̶t̴ ̶o̷f̷ ̶U̶s̴.̴"
Wait. "Did you adopt him? What if he has parents! We can't just adopt random kids!"
"W̴e̶ ̵d̶i̴d̴ ̶n̴o̶t̶ ̷s̴e̵e̸ ̷a̸n̴y̷ ̴P̶a̴r̶e̶n̷t̸s̴.̴ ̷W̴e̵ ̸o̸n̷l̷y̷ ̴s̵a̷w̷ ̷H̶i̸m̴.̶ ̶H̵e̶ ̴w̴a̴s̴ ̴U̵n̴C̷l̸a̷i̸m̵e̴d̸,̵ ̷n̷o̷w̵ ̶H̸e̵ ̷i̶s̵ ̸C̶l̷a̴i̷m̸e̸d̶.̷ ̶I̷t̵ ̵i̵s̷ ̴f̴a̴i̵r̶.̶" The Pit was being far too cheeky. It was like the Pit was saying "finders keepers losers weepers". Jason... Wasn't sure how he felt about that, honestly. "A̷n̷d̸ ̷H̸e̵ ̷i̸s̷ ̴n̵o̴t̴ ̴r̷a̴n̶d̶o̴m̴.̸ ̶H̴e̷ ̷i̶s̵ ̸k̸i̸n̷g̵.̶"
Wait, wait, nope, he had to have heard that wrong. "Hold the fucking phone, are you saying he's some kind of royalty? Of what government? His accent sounds Midwestern!"
"H̸e̵ ̷i̴s̴ ̶H̷i̶g̷h̵ ̴K̷i̴n̸g̶ ̸o̶f̷ ̵t̶h̸e̶ ̴I̴n̶f̷i̶n̵i̶t̷e̴ ̶R̴e̶a̸l̶m̸s̷.̵ ̶H̷e̷ ̸i̵s̵ ̴G̵h̵o̴s̵t̸ ̸K̴i̶n̴g̴.̶" The tone with which the Pit spoke of Danny was complicated, though pride and seriousness were prominent. "H̵e̸ ̴i̵s̷ ̴O̶u̵r̶s̶ ̷a̵s̶ ̸W̷e̸ ̴a̴r̴e̷ ̸H̶i̶s̷.̸"
=============‹«⟨∞∆∞⟩»›=============
"Hey, so, uh, I'm Danny, it's nice to meet you all."
The teen in Jason's the Pit creature's arms was remarkably calm, in Damian's opinion. He'd seen many people bathe in the Lazarus Pit come back not right, not themselves, enough to have an idea of how to handle this thing that took his brother's body as its own. Admittedly, this creature was among the most tame he'd ever seen or heard of, though, he never thought someone could become a Pit creature years after bathing in the Pit's waters, either, so perhaps that wasn't saying much.
Damian refocused and gave the older teen a small smile. "Hello, Danny, are you alright? You've had a rather stressful day, haven't you?" He needed to figure out a way to get Danny away from the Pit creature without provoking it. He had no idea how long it would stay reasonable and he didn't want to chance Danny getting hurt by what was once his brother.
Danny let out a snort. That... Wasn't the response he was expecting. "Honestly, the past week was significantly worse, this was nothing. This was almost expected, honestly. No, yeah, I'm doing pretty well now that Goony McGoonface over there isn't trying to use me as a meat shield anymore." The creature let out a short screech, and Danny glanced up at it, face contemplative, almost confused for a second, before understanding flashed across his features. He then let out a few chirps that, to Damian, sounded almost like he was asking for clarification for something. The creature responded with a trill and a few chirps of its own. Danny nodded and turned to look back at Damian with a slightly apologetic expression. "Um, he said you can come closer, Robin. He trusts you not to hurt me, but the others will have to stay back for now. Something about you being vouched for? I guess?"
He wasn't sure what to make of that, but Damian could work with this. He nodded before either of his brothers could argue, silently grateful his father was following his lead like he'd asked. "Thank you for passing along the message, I will gladly take you up on that. How close may I get?"
Danny turned to the creature again as it tilted its head in thought before chirping something at Danny that caused his eyes to widen. Danny trilled a question back, the mental impression of a disbelieving, "Really?" strong enough Damian could have sworn he'd actually heard it instead of imagining it. The creature repeated the trill back with a few chirps at the end and Danny's eyes widened further as he turned to look back at Damian. "You, uh, you can get as close as you'd like, he says he remembers you, now. You must have made a good impression, I wouldn't have thought he'd let anyone near me for the next hour, at least."
Well then. That was significantly closer than Damian had expected based on previous experiences with Pit creatures. What did Danny mean, the creature remembered him, though? How could it remember him? "Thank you again, both of you," Damian said as he started forward, being careful not to move too quickly or make any sudden movements. The closer he got to the two of them, the more he started to notice a deep rumble and slightly higher purr coming from the two he was approaching. They seemed to resonate within his own chest, touching at something he'd never noticed was tense and on constant alert until it started relaxing at the interaction. It made him just the slightest bit less hesitant at getting closer to the two of them.
It was only when he was within reach of the creature that he realized that something in his chest had started buzzing, an answering purr that startled him enough for him to pause in his tracks. That... He'd never... What? His purr hitched at his disjointed thoughts. The Pit creature slowly sat down, shifted a suddenly worried looking Danny to sit on its lap, and carefully extended an arm in Damian's direction. His purring hitched again at the movement, and the rumbling shifted in tone slightly. Somehow, the rumble seemed to draw his purr into harmony with it and the other purr, which Damian was starting to suspect was Danny's. The Pit creature chirped softly, and somehow, Damian understood it this time. "Baby bird. It's okay. You're okay. You're safe."
It—the Pit—Jason—Damian took a quick moment to sign back to his father that he had a plan he didn't, he didn't need one, either before diving into the being's arms. He'd been wrong, this wasn't a Pit creature like he'd assumed, and he could only be glad he'd said nothing about his previous assumptions aloud.
He'd only ever heard hushed rumors about it, but once, a long time ago, near the beginning of his grandfather's reign as the Demon's Head, there had been a being who'd bathed in the Lazarus Waters and came out not less than they had been, but more. They had still been themselves, they had still been healed like others before them, they'd just also become the avatar of the Waters in the process. They'd been honored by many, hailed as a great protector and given many titles as thanks, though his grandfather had apparently taken exception to someone else having such an elevated position. His grandfather had killed the being and destroyed all mentions of them as he could, even going so far as to ban talk of them. But thoughts and ideas cannot be bound, and there were those who still revered the being more than his grandfather, even within his own League.
Somehow, Jason, his brother, had become the next Avatar of the Waters. His brother was still there. His brother wasn't dead again. He held back his sobs as he let out his own quiet trill. "You're still here."

I've tried my best to cover all the ones I thought might be an issue, but I'm not the most knowledgeable on what topics can be triggering yet (´-﹏-`;) I want my readers to know what they're getting into before they get into it, y'know?
Thank you all so much for your patience! I've got some people who asked to be tagged when I wrote the sequel, so hopefully I got them all! @stealingyourbones, @ghoststoneguard, @meira-3919, @onyxlightdragon, @gatorgoose, @rainbowbunny0159, @jarlyd, here's the update y'all asked to be tagged in! Prompt found here
Another one for ya, @stealingyourbones!
Possible trigger warnings: casual disregard for potentially deadly situations, possible body horror (I'm not entirely sure what counts as body horror and what doesn't, so this is a precaution ಡ ͜ ʖ ಡ)

Danny was really starting to question his parents understanding of the word "vacation". This was the fifth time this year that he and his sister had been dragged along to some kind of "getaway destination" for a "nice, relaxing vacation," only for it to backfire on the younger Fenton's. Admittedly, though, this was the first time that backfire resulted in Danny being held hostage by another hero's rogue.
He felt it really said something about his life that this was the most relaxing part of his vacation so far. Everyone else around him seemed to be genuinely scared for their lives, but Danny? Eh, he's had worse. It's certainly lacking creativity, a certain flair that he'd gotten used to. Besides, he's fairly certain he could take whatever Gotham could throw at him.
Honestly, he wasn't even sure which rogue was behind this hostage situation, he'd kinda zoned that part out. And it wasn't that he didn't feel threatened! It was more, well. Ever since his accident at fourteen, he'd spent more time threatened, fighting for his life, or in danger than he hadn't, so... Yeah. Yeah, he was aware his life wasn't normal or ideal, but it was his.
Danny was just starting to go over the named objects in the solar system for the second time since he zoned out, when he was torn out of his thoughts by the sound of metal ricocheting off the walls. He watched in awe as Red Hood, Red Robin, and Nightwing worked together to bring down the goons while Batman and Robin tag teamed the guy in charge. He did his best to absorb as much of the fight as he could, knowing this was a golden opportunity to learn from some of the best heroes and vigilantes in the world.
He was so invested in the fight that he didn't notice the other hostages had already evacuated or that there was a desperate goon sneaking up on him until a hand was pressed tightly across his mouth and a weapon of some sort was held just out of his field of view. "Oi!" The goon cried as the majority of the Bats finished their appointed tasks, instantly gaining all of their attention. "You're gonna let me go, yeah? Or else pretty boy here is gonna—" they didn't get to finish their threat as Red Hood seemed to unhinge.
The eye holes of his helmet started glowing a bright, familiar looking green, his limbs stretched out, and his fingers gained talon-like claws. He let out an ear piercing shriek before bolting forward, guns falling uselessly to the ground, forgotten. Danny blinked, and suddenly he was wrapped in a very protective embrace, the goon who had been trying to use Danny crumpled at the base of the wall a few feet to the side of him.
It took another few blinks for Danny's brain to fully process and catch up with everything that had happened, but eventually he caught up enough to realize that Hood was crooning and clicking like he'd seen a few ghosts do to comfort their young. Which was. Well, it was actually kind of comforting? In a weird kind of way? He'd never had it done for him before, and now that he was paying attention, he could definitely feel a ghost core in Hood. He could have sworn it wasn't there when the Bats had first appeared, but he had been zoned out at the time, so who knew?
When the crooning and clicking started taking on a more frantic undertone, Danny realized he'd tensed as soon as the goon had grabbed him and he hadn't relaxed yet, nor had he reacted to Hood's attempts at calming him. He took a breath and consciously started relaxing into the hold, taking the comfort being offered and letting his core vibrate within his chest to simulate a contented purr. Hood started relaxing at that, his core starting to rumble gently in a resonance with Danny's that honestly made him a bit drowsy, but tensed back up at the sound of soft footsteps, letting out a low warning hiss.
Danny tried to catch a glimpse of what had made Hood go on the defensive again, but the footsteps had stopped at the hiss and Hood's back was to whoever it was. Unbidden, a frustrated and curious chirp bubbled up from his core and out his mouth before he could stop it. Hood froze, the gentle rumbling was the only thing that didn't stop at the sound of Danny's chirp. Danny looked up to find Hood's glowing green gaze locked on Danny, his head tilted to the side in thought. Curious, Danny copied the pose and let out another chip, this one more of a "please" than just aimless frustration and curiosity. Slowly, Hood turned his head over his shoulder in what seemed to be assessment.
"We don't want to hurt him," a young voice called. That was probably Robin, Danny thought. "We just want to make sure he's alright. He can stay with you until you're sure we won't hurt him, but we'd like to see he's okay for ourselves."
Danny let out another few chirps, with an unexpected trill working its way in, conveying trust, respect, and excitement. He really wanted to meet the rest of the Bats, and maybe figure out what was going on with Hood. He had been fairly certain none of the Bats were ghosts or halfas, so he would really like some answers as to how Hood had ended up with a core in the first place.
Eventually, Hood crooned his reluctant, wary acceptance and slowly started to turn around, letting Danny see the rest of the Bats again. It seemed like Danny was right, it had been Robin that had spoken. He was also the one that had tried to approach them earlier. Robin had his hands up slightly, extended away from his body, very obviously trying to prove he meant his word as any movement toward a weapon would be more than obvious and would allow Hood to react as he saw fit. The rest of the Bats were farther away, hands also displayed, though they were a mixed bag on how far away their hands were from their various weapons.
Everyone seemed to be in a bit of a stalemate, no one knowing how to react or what to say first, so Danny, more relaxed than he could remember being, ever, decided to solve that for them. "Hey, so, uh, I'm Danny, it's nice to meet you all."
=============‹«⟨∞∆∞⟩»›=============
Can I just say, it's really hard to write while eating? It's even harder trying to write while also watching TV with your sisters (^~^;)ゞ BUT HEY! I still managed to write this in time! And I managed it while still sick! (Did I mention yesterday that I'm sick? I meant to, but I don't remember if I did or not (~_~;))
I couldn't decide which rogue ended up holding Danny hostage, and I also couldn't decide where Danny was being held, but I was able to decide that the hostages were taken because they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Danny was either in a museum, a cafe/restaurant, or the planetarium I've been assured Gotham had in at least run (;^ω^)
I'm going to try to do a Harry Potter ficlet tomorrow, either pure or crossed, not sure which or with what, just something Harry Potter. If anyone has any ideas for what I could do for that, please let me know in the comments and I'll choose my favorite one to write! If I don't get any suggestions I'm confident I can write, then I'll look elsewhere, but I'm trying to broaden my NaNoWriMo ficlet catalogue so more people can find something to enjoy. You guys are the best (◠‿・)—☆
Have a good morning/day/night!

Church Grim!Danny and/or Danny The Black Dog
Picture this!
Danny gets buried (alive) in a coffin in a cemetery in Gotham by the Fentons. There’s enough ectoplasm to sustain him but he can’t get free of the coffin. Eventually he builds enough power to manifest a shadow of a spectral form as The Black Dog, a Church Grim. The shadowy omen of death tasked to guard the graves and souls of those resting there.
But wait! There’s more!
During this time someone claws their way from their grave, one Jason Todd a body without a complete soul. Danny tries to follow Jason, to protect, to guard, but he can’t leave the cemetery.
Fast forward to Jason’s return to Gotham. For as unsettling as being near his grave can be, Jason always feels safe in the cemetery. That feeling never staying with him past the gates and sometimes… Sometimes he sees a shadowy figure of a dog with eyes brighter green than the Lazarus pits.
The dog seems to be trying to lead him somewhere that isn’t Jason’s grave. It takes so long, too long for Jason to follow the Grim to an unmarked grave. And longer still for Jason to get up the nerve to dig up the grave and find the comatose boy within.
Danny doesn’t know how to go back to his body, he’s been apart so long. He’s been The Black Dog for so long.

Dp x DC prompt
Damian and Tim are in a League of Shadows base, preparing to capture and question a guard to find out more information they were lacking when a Bruce Adoption Bait of a teen walks in, yells "Hell yeah they got a pool!" and immediately dives into the Lazarus pits in front of them. Tim and Damian are horrified. How did this teen get in? Why did he just kill himself? Why did he think the pit was a pool? Why was he hot?

I see a lot of posts about Danny seeing Jason and immediately thinking he’s a baby ghost and wanting to adopt him but what if it’s the other way around?
What if Jason sees Danny and is hit with oh my god that’s a baby, who left a baby unattended out on the street?? He needs help, gotta protect him, mine, yeah he’s mine now, I got u lil guy don’t worry
Meanwhile 15 yr old Danny is like um hi?? And promptly gets kidnapped. But he just lets it happen because he’s actually feeling the safest he’s ever felt in his life with this guy, and Danny’s core immediately recognizes Jason as parental figure and just relaxes Danny 100%
Jasons feeling like Danny is a helpless baby while Danny feels safe, protect, calm, safe, relax, and he just lets Jason take him home. Neither are really sure why or what is going on with them but they’re not gonna stop it.
I think it’s because Danny’s own parents kinda suck and any other ghost that he’s interacted with he’s had to fight in some capacity or has been spooked by them. Jason’s the only one who 1) wanted to parent him and 2) has good vibes. Danny’s usually waiting for fights to happen and he’s very stressed. Jason calms him down so much he probably falls asleep before they even get to Jason’s apartment, full trust that Jason will take care of him.
Meanwhile Jason never really connects with his pit side, but really wants to find some way to have a truce. Cue Danny, and both Jason and the Pit turn to protectiveness and so the rage becomes more protection and Jason yk, might be kinda lonely and wanting something to take care of. He was probably thinking about getting a cat and not a kid but he’s not complaining

Non Shrike AU content yet again but idea where Danny takes on being a superhero more or less out of Amity Park once he’s slightly older. Danny continues to go by Phantom. He’s a sudden unknown with a rogue gallery who seems to follow him no matter how quickly he travels from city to city. The destruction that follows him is hard to notice and as a result the Justice League attempts to intervene but it’s leaving them questioning who exactly this new hero (or foe) is. He is able to go toe to toe with some of the veteran League members until he usually realizes he can’t exactly win against them (experience vs. raw power doesn’t always work in his favor) and runs away. The League is trying to get a grasp on his powers and abilities and in the end, since he doesn’t seem fond of actually interacting with the League, Danny is deemed a threat. It’s especially concerning when some members spy him lingering on the edges of Earth’s atmosphere star gazing.
Danny views the situation differently, he’s trying to contain ghosts appearing from an influx of natural ghost portals throughout the country while juggling being a freshman in university. His goal is get them under controlled as quick as possible, no time for banter, no time to interact with the local heros. He has a job to do. However when the Justice League starts coming after him he believes they realize he’s a ghost/part ghost and trying to detain him under the ecto acts. He’s terrified and views them as a threat so of course he’s going to fight them if they try to get to close.
Danny is eventually captured by Superman after a rogue battle in Metropolis that was extremely difficult so having Superman come in directly after was a losing battle from the start. He’s taken to the Watch Tower and given cuffs and a collar that blocks/dampens meta abilities and it manages to actually work on Danny. He refuses to cooperate with any members who try to question him since it’s pointless to fight against them now that he’s captured. Danny views himself steps away from being fully dead as he believes the Justice League will hand him over to the Men in White once they’re finished with him.
Non colored version under readmore:

Like and Survive! (DC x DP)
Everyone knows who Phantom is. He was one of the very first heroes though he inexplicably chose to dedicate his life (metaphorically) to micromanaging the hell out of some random town no one has ever heard of. He's a specialist hero, only really useful for ghost stuff. He comes every time someone contacts him for help but it's only happened a few times in all of his years of operation.
Then, kid heroes become a thing. Robin, once perpetually hidden beneath the shadow of the bat emerges into the metropolis sun just in time to make the front page.
When Batman's child-raising skills are called into question, Kid Flash is brought out at a press release by Flash to show that these exceptional children are around. They just aren't common knowledge for their own health (aside from the villains - being a child star wrecks your brain).
A few villains do come forward and say "no, the sidekicks will go out on their own if their hero doesn't let them. And they have all the powers and none of the restraint. Please don't separate them."
(Batman and Robin are both very flattered that all their rogues think they have powers. Robin is ✨glowing✨ with pride.)
Cyborg calls Robin at 3am. He asks if he's seen the new 'BooTube' page.
Phantom has set up his own website. It's a dark and moody ripoff of YouTube with 1 channel. His.
Introduction Video: Transcript Hi guys, I can't lie to you, I was as up-in-arms as anyone when I saw what people are now calling "The Robin Reveal". But then I remembered that I started my hero work when I was mentally and physically fourteen years old...
Danny doesn't mention he was also chronologically 14 at the time. Secret identities and all.
...and I had no mentor, no training and no backup. It was just me and two humans, neither of whom even had powers at that time. I understand the call, in a way that none of the non-hero people criticising you could ever hope to comprehend. I'm glad to see most of you fellow child-heroes have an experienced adult watching your back. But if you don't. If there's even one of you out there who need a mentor, consider Amity Park open for business, and consider adding my number to your speedial. I'm not like those people in interviews saying "Oh, someone needs to help the children!" I am helping you, I am helping you whenever you need with whatever you want.
The ghost swallows and seemingly forces down his brimming sincerity.
And for those of you who do already have backup? Consider checking back here. I'm going over my old reports from my first few years on the streets to see what I most needed to hear, and what I wished I knew sooner. Hopefully no one else will have to learn what I know the hard way.
You know how to fight, this channel won't be for that. This is about coping with secret identities, and the messed up situations that can only happen to a vigilante or hero.
Anyways, the first video is already ready to be edited so in a few days I'll be back here to discuss what you do when you've been cloned. How to deal with that emotionally and physically. My clone isn't very well known outside of my town but I think she'll add a great perspective!
Within weeks, without his knowledge, Danny is somehow remote-mentoring heroes of all ages.

Dp x Dc
I propose: the Justice League keeps bumping into Danny Phantom, but always, always in other countries or on other planets. He refuses to set foot into the US and some other select countries when he is with a member of the JL. They know he operates in those countries when he is alone, but not in their company
They discover the reason when he is asked to come to the Watchtower. He asks them which country's jurisdiction it operates under, and they finally ask why.
That's how the JL discover the Anti-Ecto Laws. They are not very happy.
Phantom just didn't want to put them into the position where they would be committing treason by not murdering him on the spot or turning him over for vivisection.
They are so far beyond not happy.

Can't imagine what it's like to consume media like a normal person. To discover something you enjoy, go oh i loved that, then just move on and not spend the next 6 months of your life literally thinking about nothing else.

it's very important I think to both have in your life a) people who will listen to your insecurities and gently reassure you that they don't necessarily reflect reality b) people who will listen to your insecurities and say "that's the stupidest shit I've ever heard. you think WHAT about yourself??? I'm gonna kill you"

DP x DC prompt where there’s an Ancient ghost resting at the center of the Earth’s core.
A giant, colossal serpent of a ghost who has slept there at the center so long that few know she exists at all. Volcanos erupt and the earth shakes when she has unpleasant dreams or shifts her molten coils. She is so vast and self-sustaining that she is practically a zone in of herself, producing ectoplasm that seeps up through cracks in the stone and earth until it pools in hidden pockets.
Lazarus Pits, some have come to call them.
In recent years, people have tampered with these pools of her ectoplasm, corrupting them. The more corruption that violates her ectoplasm, the more she begins to stir.

Mansplain Yourself (DC x DP)
Danny decides that attending college and defending the entirety of Earth from ghosts is too hard to maintain alongside a job. He should just get paid to do his hero work!
He shows up on the watchtower with a PowerPoint and printed portfolio proving he's been doing hero work for years. He fought a king from another dimension. He wants some of their money.
"We don't really have a budget? We can't really pay you." Says Superman.
"I am standing in space right now. That guy has a bat-themed submarine, private jet and fleet of automobiles. If you guys aren't rolling in that sweet, sweet USA defence budget cash, how are you affording all of this?"
"Uh, okay, we'll pay you." Says Batman (It's Nightwing subbing in for Bruce tonight and he panics!)
Constantine is cranky. This is a ghost. Ghosts are dead. Why the fuck would he need human money?
Danny's first paycheck clears. He moves out of his parents house and it's all good!
And this is when the trouble begins. Real Batman has noticed the money moving, and questions about the paperwork for the Justice League's 'new employee'.
Constantine is still crank though, and when Danny comes in for a skills assessment he steamrolls the poor guy. Talking over him, correcting him etc.
Danny is tired, he has a paper due before midnight and he doesn't even know what this guy's problem is. So, Danny lets him mansplain his own powers to the Justice League.
The Justice League paperwork for Phantom the Infinite Realms Ghost reads like this:
Senses others of his kind (see appendix 5a)
Intangibility
Self-sustained flight
Knowledge about Infinite Realms (see general database - dimensions, subsection 52), and it's inhabitants.
Danny figures he'll get payback for all his colleges listening to this cigarette-smoking hack over him the first time any of them see him actually fight. But the first fight he's in with them is an easy one, he only really needs to fly and lift some heavy-ish stuff. Then the next one is a false alarm. Then they keep giving the hard jobs to Superman.
Then, about 6 months in - Danny's file now has Super Strength (see appendix 12f) - added. Kal-el goes down. Hard. A single, brutal hit.
…And Wonder Woman takes his place in the plan with ease.
How long is it going to take before Danny gets to (legitimately) show off for once?! He can't wait.

DP x DC prompt where Pariah Dark was not always a lone ruler.
A queen once stood by Pariah Dark’s side, though few remember the queen at all, let alone what became of her.
Few know that she fled to the living world and took to her own slumber. That she has remained there, slowly corrupted by her long stay from the Infinite Realms and a wound to her core.
A city sprung up around her place of rest. It took her name.
Her dreams and power influence the city and its people. She loves her city, she loves her Knights that defend it, but there is a persistent darkness that lingers there. Her dreams are rarely pleasant, with her own corruption fueling her own nightmares.
When Danny defeats Pariah Dark, when she feels that rotten connection at last sever, Gotham stirs.

Dp x Dc prompt 7
(most likely a limital!amity park)
a feud between Amity Park residents and the Justice League but it's one sided.
any time an Amity Parker goes out of town and ends up in a location where the Justice League gets called or any member gets called, an Amity Parker Will Take Care Of It.
Amity Parkers have dropped-kicked Lex Luther, ganged up on the Joker, punted Mister Mind, and more.
The Justice League and Villains are desperately trying to find out What Their Problem Is for different reasons.
When confronted, the answers vary but a concerning consistency is "If our dead teenage superhero can take care of world-ending threats by himself, we can take care of the little things."
