I’ve now designed two outfits that I had made by Beyond Wonderland Dollhouse Fashion and I’m so happy with them both! Here’s the second one. As you can see, the colours are slightly different due to fabric availability, but look at the details like the pintucking on the shirt and the embroidery on the robe - they’re just as I drew them! It’s so much fun to get to experience fashion design on a mini scale like this :D  Niles is a Souldoll Azrael with a faceup from Shrike Aesthetics, ears modded by me.

I keep forgetting to upload photos here. Have something silly I did a couple of weeks ago.  (For context, they’re all D&D characters. Aldyn’s got a background as a thief, Ramsay’s an investigator - a Pathfinder class that’s basically a detective - and Niles is just very gay)  Aldyn: Dollstown Soyu, faceup by BunnyForever, outfit designed by me and sewn by Beyond Wonderland Ramsay: Delf Joe, faceup by Lunar Pendrith, clothes from Volks, Luts & Sadol  Niles: Souldoll Vito Azrael, ear mod by me, faceup by Shrike Aesthetics, outfit designed by me and sewn by Beyond Wonderland

Little dark magic nerd
Niles is a Souldoll Vito Azrael with an ear mod by me, painted by @talesfromtheshrike! He's waiting on a custom outfit but for now SD10 clothes aren't half bad.

Apologies for the bad lighting but I think my KDF and Withdoll boys look fine next to each other! Modded KDF Bory on the left, Withdoll Ash the Elf Hunter on the right.
Hello. I hesitate between 3 sculpts for a character that could be Luts Kid-Delf, Supiadoll Hayul or Asleep Eidolon Cloud. My others MSD are more on the mature look (Luts Model Delf Lazuli & Avalanche, Withdoll boys, Youpladoll Vana). I was wondering if those sculpts would blend in with my current collection or if they would just look out of scale with eyes and head being too big . Could someone please help or give advice on the matter ? Sorry, it was difficult finding the good words for asking.

He’s not finished yet, but he’s certainly not ugly. (Resinsoul Song with Sui hands, dyed by me, faceup by BunnyForever)
If you’re still one of those who think RS are ugly and cheap or whatever, there’s a thread on Addicts where someone wanted to see RS. They’re really cool and I highly recommend checking it out because it shows that a custom faceup and photos can change and beautify the doll drastically. (If you just don’t like RS cos it’s not your style, no shade either. They’re not for everyone and I get that, but if your argument is that they’re ugly, please check it out.)

It's true!
dollzone/dc’s normal yellow skin is underrated imo.  it’s a really pretty, deep colour, almost bordering on tan.  it’s just pleasant to look it!  it doesn’t suit every character of course, but if you’re looking for something new to try and hadn’t considered it, i’d really love to see more normal yellow dolls from them around!

Transmasculine non-binary person here. I think my #1 piece of advice would be to start by just creating a character. Explore their background, their occupation, what they like to do for fun, how they dress, relationships with other people, etc. These things won’t necessarily be influenced by their gender identity at all because hobbies, clothing styles etc. don’t really have a gender! Then their gender identity is just one more piece of information on top of that, like their hair colour or eye colour.  Being non-binary is an important part of my identity but it’s not the ONLY part of my identity. If you asked my friends what sort of person I am, they’d probably tell you about how I like to draw or how I’m really into Dungeons & Dragons. They wouldn’t just say “oh yeah, they’re non-binary.”
I would like to create a non-binary and or genderfluid character, but I don’t want to fall in clichés… I choose a somewhat versatile male sculpt I love, Withdoll Mai. I did read the earlier confession about gender and how they’re depicted/perceived and it is totally my opinion too that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but still, I lack knowledge on this sensitive subject. Advices on the matter to create a believable and non-offending character ?

Ah yes... revolting...
I know this is probably just bait but come on, OP. Not all vinyl dolls are sexualized and they come in similar sizes to BJD and can wear the same clothes and wigs, so there's gonna be some overlap of the hobbies.
Also, I believe the early Dollfie Dreams were in fact ball jointed and strung with elastic, so... there's that.
I hate D0llfie Dreams, Smartd0lls, and Obitsus. The thing I hate most on this earth is Angelphila. Every time I see an Anglephiia I feel extermely ill. What is it about vinyl that lends itself to disgusting male gaze anime dolls? Vinyl dolls are an entirely different hobby to BJD IMO and should not be allowed in resin BJD spaces. They don’t even have ball joint! How is that BJD! Men are disgusing. Every time i see s3xualised doll I want to delete this internet.

Yes, I bought this mini lightbox solely for the purpose of doll photos, what of it
The best boy also got a new wig yesterday. It has to be styled just so or the cap shows, but the colour is perfect.

Tumblr might try to shield you from doll nipples but I'm so delighted with Aldyn's new harness and garters from @mirrorada that I must risk it!

Please support your local sad spooky boyfriend by offering cuddles. If you cannot provide cuddles yourself, enlist the help of his cat. Otherwise he’s just going to stand around the library sulking.  Aldyn is a Dollstown Soyu in pale tan. Faceup by BunnyForever. Outfit from Beyond Wonderland, designed by me.  Robin is a Pluto Dolls Ezekiel, default faceup, shirt from Odd Aristocratic.  Both of their eyes are from Enchanted Doll. Ash (kitty) is a Zuzu Delf Nyang with company blushing.  In case anyone notices, yes, Robin is also Paul (Crobidoll Zion)’s boyfriend. That’s because he’s a friend’s RP character who gets cute boyfriends in TWO universes. Lucky bastard.

I got my first RS boy a few days ago and while the super smooth, lightweight resin may be a bit of an acquired taste, I love the lack of seam lines, and unlike my Soom MSDs he can actually stand. And his little claw hands are so cute. They can't do a really dark/bright red colour, it seems, but he took dye amazingly well.
Tumblr media
Resinsoul’s general aesthetic isn’t really quite my taste either but I feel like their sculpting and photography skills have improved a lot since I first joined the hobby. They’re constantly working hard to improve as a company and they try their best to please their customers. And I respect that because that’s more than you can say for some of the more expensive bjd companies out there.
I mean, Fairyland can’t even be bothered to properly sand seam lines for you at times but Resinsoul will go through the effort to let you custom order a doll with four arms or two heads. That’s wild.
