Allison is your best friend, and you wonder when an off-hand comment became a reality. Because this is your reality, now, and you realize this with a mix of horror and excitement because the last time you had a best friend was when you were eight years old and not supposed to dream of being a princess in a fairy tale or anything else quite as “gay” but did so anyway because why couldn’t a princess be a princess AND lead the world in astrophysics?
And so you’re not used to this “best friends” thing, but she looks at you with such an open, honest face that your veneer of indifference has cracked and crumbled and flaked away into nothingness.
You reached out your hand and she tucked herself against your heart and you’re not too sure how that happened, but you’re almost glad that she is because you’re sort of in love with her maybe.
Possibly.

summary: takes place near the end of 2x02 between Caroline and Stefan.
He wipes away the blood gently--almost tender in how he brushes back her hair with his hands. She's trembling all over, shaking from fear and disgust and--
( it felt so good, a voice in her head whispers and she wants to cry because it was sogoodsogoodsogood and she hates herself but it doesn't change that she )
"She hates me. Bonnie hates me."
The blood is drying on her skin and she can taste in her mouth the copper taste and viscous texture and she remembers how it felt when she sunk her teeth into that stranger's neck and how his blood gushed into her mouth, warm and sweet and--
"No, no, no, she's just in shock; it'll be alright."
She wants to believe him, but she can't-- she can't even look at herself in the mirror. That face in the mirror is--
( she's seen that face before, when she was small and weak and painfully human; it was the face that haunted the nightmares she always forgot, the dark veins right before he bit her and she can still remember how he'd hold her down and tell her not to panic right before he )
His voice is soothing in her ears as he whispers sweet nothings reassurances of a later where she doesn't have to-- But her heart is racing--it's not, she doesn't have one, but--it feels like it did. Before. That painful constricting in her heart, the shallow breaths that little by little become nothing but painful gasps and then her throat closes up and--
"Look at me, Caroline. Look at me."
( she remembers how desperate she was, those months ago when all she wanted was for him to--but then his brother, and--then there's Matt, but how can she be with him when she's a murderer, a monster; how could she )
"I promise you. I won't let anything happen to you."
And he's rubbing his thumb along her cheek, fingers going gently through her head right before he pulls her close--

the name's someotherchick, but y'all can call me lizzy~
for some reason I'm going to do an intro post here--more than I've done for my actual main. P:
first thing's first: name's lizzy or someotherchick ('chick' and 'soc' are also appropriate nicknames, as is lune). i'm 19-ish (turning 20 in late summer, which is all kinds of weird) and femme-ish and also latin@. straight-ish, too. unabashedly queer, but straight and cis passing.
I'm not sure what, exactly, that has to do with me as a writer, but. there y'go~
what i do: poetry and fanfiction, mostly, though i do plot out original stuff that isn't poetry. i like fantasy and contemporary and teenagery things. i like writing about women and families and friendship and love and stuff. >////<
