Overall, this is my favorite fallout game out of the 3 (not counting the clasic fallouts, obviously, since ive hardly played them and they make every computer i try them on catch fire)
The combat feels more like an rpg than an fps, but you can lean more into either one depending on your playstyle, which i really like. The different types of guns and melees are unique and scale well as you continue the game. But above all, the leveling is my favorite part. This is the only fallout game that comes close to the disparity between skills at low levels and max level, and i absolutely love it. When you specialize in a skill, it really feels like youre the best in the wasteland at it. Plus, some of the skills are broken, like how you can become litterally undetectable mid combat with max stealth and chinese camo.
The story and setting are also incredible, and it somehow makes searching the wasteland for Liam Neeson feel less like an elaborate fetch quest, and more like a dynamic tour of the wasteland and all its oddities. The game has really enjoyable characters that i still remember despite hardly playing this game in years. And i love the way they tie in old fallout 3 characters with 4.
