The OKC Thunder continued their dominant run in the Western Conference with a convincing 119-107 victory over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night. In a matchup featuring a surging young team against a veteran squad missing key players, the Thunder’s youthful energy and balanced attack proved too much to overcome for the Jazz. Holmgren Shines with Double-Double Chet Holmgren, the highly touted rookie out of Gonzaga, put on a show for the Oklahoma City crowd. The 7-foot frame of the versatile big man was a mismatch nightmare for the Jazz. Holmgren dominated the paint, finishing with a game-high 35 points on a highly efficient 14-of-20 shooting night. He also grabbed a career-high-tying 14 rebounds, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. “Chet was phenomenal tonight,” said OKC Thunder coach Mark Daigneault in his post-game press conference. “He established himself inside early, and that opened things up for our perimeter guys. His rebounding was also crucial, especially with the Jazz crashing the boards hard.”

Derrick White scored twelve of his twenty-one points in the fourth quarter, and Kristaps Porzingis scored thirty-one to help the Boston Celtics defeat the Atlanta Hawks 125-117 on Wednesday night. It seems that Kristaps Porzingis took it personally when he was left off of the Eastern Conference All-Star squad. In his first game back following the rejection, Porzingis scored a career-high 31 points in the Atlanta Hawks victory. The brilliant thing about his performance was that he pitted it against Trae Young, a player who was selected as an All-Star ahead of him. With 20 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in the game, Jayson Tatum helped the Celtics win their seventh straight at home against the Hawks to improve to 24-3 overall. Jaylen Brown ended with 15 points, and Al Horford added 14 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Horford stated, “I simply believe that brings us in a different dimension offensively when we’re playing like that and moving it like that.” “We have plenty of weapons available that it becomes extremely difficult to stop us.” As the Celtics shot 17 for 49 from beyond the arc, including 9 of 16 in the fourth quarter to shut out the troublesome Hawks, Brown was the only starting player for Boston who failed to make a 3-pointer.
