"Okay. My Nana passed away, but when she was alive I remember I said to her - I said, "Nana, what is love?". I said, "What is love?" and she said, "Well I suppose on the outside, it's very tough and quite hard to get into. But when you get to the center you realize it's kind of beautiful and sweet and rewarding." And I said, "Wow is that really what love is?", and she said, "Love? Sorry I thought you said a melon." But the point of that - that's kind of how ridiculous this is. If I'm being serious, Steve Gadd said this thing once to a session musician, he was trying to get this part right on the guitar. And he said, "People don't care about music, they care about people". And I was like fuck, that's so true. And anyone who's followed the narrative of this show that started in the end of 2022, it was a cautionary tale about being a man. Keep your friends close, don't let them leave so it's just you. Keep 'em close. But it's changed. And I was so committed to this show being real because I want The 1975 to be a romantic version of what it sounds like to be me. [audience cheers] Thank you. So we had to come up with a romantic version of what it looks like. And it's not that romantic. But it is! But it isn't. And I am a very confused person but I do know that I love you all very much."
