Title: With Ears To See Group & Member: EXO - Luhan Category: Angst, Fluff Words: 1,713 Warnings: Actor!Luhan, Luhan-centered fic, OT!9 Summary: Y/N sees through her ears and loves through her heart. Notes: The title is coincidentally from Sleeping With Sirens' song. Luhan first met Y/N in a convenience store. Luhan had escaped the four corners of his quiet and lonely apartment to buy chips and maybe cans of beer if he was feeling it. He swiftly moved through the aisles of goods until he halted in front of a girl. She wore Ray Bans sunglasses despite the time being 1:30 AM. She was crouched down, picking up chips which seem to have fallen from their shelf. Luhan instinctively crouched down in front of her, helping her pick up the bag of chips and putting it on their respective places. "You okay?" he asked and the girl nodded, standing up and offering his hand towards her. But she didn't take it, instead she reached for a stick that Luhan didn't notice before, using it to help her stand up. Luhan's eyes immediately fell on her black shirt. It was plain except for the print in the middle: a very familiar logo and an 'OT12' underneath. Shit, he cursed in his mind. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for helping," the girl said and Luhan didn't notice that she was looking down, instead he was mesmerized by her voice. So soft and pure like an angel. "Nice shirt." The words had already left his mouth before he could stop them. The girl grinned and Luhan internally cursed himself for feeling giddy. "It's my favorite," she said with so much pride in her voice. Luhan wonders why the girl isn't fangirling in front of him. If she is a fan, wouldn't she recognize him? Then Luhan's brain started placing the pieces together. Oh. "Hey, can you help me?" the girl asked suddenly, Luhan immediately answers a yes. "I've got this place memorized but they seemed to have moved shelves around. My favorite chocolates were placed here before," she explained. Luhan nodded before feeling stupid. "What chocolate?" he asked and the girl grinned. "I don't know but it's really good. It used to be in the shelf two rows after the noodles," she answered and not one ounce of shame in her voice. Luhan would've thought that the girl is shy and reserved but he liked the way she carried herself. Confident and not letting her blindness be a hindrance. Luhan shamelessly (well, not really) took the girl's hand and led her to the chocolates section. He counted two rows after the noodles and took a bar of Cadbury. "Is it this?" he asked, handing the bar to the girl. She felt it up before nodding with a giddy smile. "Yes. Thank you for helping," she said. "No biggie," Luhan said with a smile and hoped that the girl could hear his sincerity. Luhan led her to the cashier and the teenager with headphones over her ears didn't notice that it was Actor Luhan in front of her. Luhan brought his hood up and left the convenience store with the girl. "Hey, man. Thanks for helping me," the girl said. She quickly opened the bar of chocolate and snapped a chunk. "Take this," she said with that cute grin and Luhan can't help but accept it. "It's no problem." "I best be off then, Good Samaritan," the girl joked. "Will you be fine?" Luhan asked and the girl nodded with a smile, shaking her hand towards Luhan. "I've got this place memorized like the back of my hand. Well, not that I see it," she grinned again and Luhan had to chuckle. She's too cute. "Take care..." "It's Y/N." "Take care, Y/N." The girl smiled again before taking a bite of her chocolate and walking off with the help of her cane. The butterflies erupting in Luhan's stomach made him grin widely and forget that he didn't get to buy his chips. *** Luhan met Y/N for the second time in McDonald's. Luhan was too lazy to cook dinner and he's list of restaurant numbers was missing so he visited the nearest fastfood chain by his apartment. Luhan saw Y/N seated on the pavement, munching on a BigMac on her hand. He immediately recognized her because of her eyeglasses and the smile she had after biting into her burger. That's too adorable, Luhan thinks. Y/N is an illegal creature. "Hey, you," Luhan fails to come up with a greeting that he almost slams his head on the nearby car. Y/N grins, recognizing his voice. She sits up and Luhan sees her shirt. It's another EXO shirt but this time printed with the silhouette of the Tree of Life. "I like your shirt," Luhan calls and Y/N smiled wider. "Thanks. You know, I'm starting to think you're an EXO-L yourself," Y/N jokes, making Luhan smile fondly. "Yeah. I think I am," he says in a light voice that made Y/N's smile soften. "I love Luhan," she says so suddenly that Luhan almost did a backflip. Luhan feels the blood rushing to his ears and he suddenly feels hot. "S-sorry?" Luhan stammers. "I said I love Luhan. He's my bias in EXO." Luhan doesn't know what to say. Thankfully, Y/N breaks the silence. "You? Who's your bias in EXO?" Luhan blurts out the first name he thinks. "Xiumin." "I ship XiuHan too. But I ship HunHan more," Y/N says and Luhan feels a shiver down his back. Y/N stands up, walking away and Luhan curses himself that he didn't stop nor follow her. *** Luhan met Y/N for the last time in a hospital room. He was alarmed when he was driving by the convenience store earlier and he saw an ambulance outside. He had a bad feeling that he followed the ambulance to the hospital. He sees Y/N in a stretcher, crying out and clutching her head. There was a man beside her, holding her hand and Luhan sees the resemblance in the two of them. He followed them inside the emergency room, watching as they pushed her stretcher to the operating room. He didn't ask the man about Y/N, instead he waited until she was transferred into a room and he sneaks in. "You know, I've been Luhan-biased for five years now, and I've never thought he was one to sneak up inside a stranger's room," Y/N said suddenly. Luhan saw the whole of her face for the first time. She wore no eyeglasses and Luhan can feel tiny pinches in his heart because she is beautiful. Her skin is pale, her hair is messy, her lips are chapped, her eyes are bloodshot and she is beautiful. "So you did recognize me?" Luhan asks and the YN smiles softly. "Of course I did. Your voice is pretty much the only thing that gets me through the day," she said with so much emotion that Luhan almost cries. "Why me?" Luhan croaked out. He didn't know where it came from but he wants to know badly. Y/N sighed dramatically, clutching her blanket and pretending that she was thinking. "I don't really know. Maybe because Luhan looks like a girl," she joked and Luhan laughed with pain. "You're really special to me, Luhan. Thank you for being here," Y/N said again and Luhan didn't stop the tears coming out from his eyes. *** Luhan first met Y/N's brother in the hospital room a week after. He was crying when he entered the room, sobbing and begging for his sister to come back. They met again in Y/N's funeral when he handed something to Luhan. "I thought she was crazy to be a fan of you guys. But I didn't stop her because you were her hope," those were the first words he spoke before he walk away, handing a pink envelope to Luhan. Dear Luhan, I hope you appreciate me writing (or typing, whatever) you a letter. This is really hard! I'm kidding, I'm using this highly expensive laptop that is specially made for blind people like me. Anyways, let me start this letter properly. Hi there. It's Y.N, you know, the girl you knew for a month. I don't think you even remember, you're surrounded of hot girls for Pete's sake. But who am I kidding. I'm too cute for you to forget. Gosh, I'm getting much sidetracked here. Back to the letter, I wrote this to answer your question! "Why me?" That's a really stupid question, Han. Why do people ask that? That's too stupid and insecure. And of all people, you shouldn't be the insecure one, Luhan. You are my bias in EXO whether you leave the group five more times. You are forever my bias. You're beautiful, Luhan. And I hope you know that I'm sincere. I don't see your face nor I see if you really look like a girl. But I can hear you. And how genuine, kind and pure you are. You're precious. You give me light in the ten years of darkness I've known. I've been blind for ten years but I'm glad that I am. I think I'd be too overwhelmed if I see and meet someone as beautiful as you are. Just by your voice and your heart, I fell in love with you. In your two years of stay in EXO, and your two years of absence, I loved you. You hurt me, us, but I loved you. I love you. I think it's fate that we meet, you know. My doctor said that the tumor is being a bitch and that I have only a week of living but see, I lived for a month more because I met you. Thank you for that. I just have three favors to ask you if it's not too much. One, if it's okay, check up on my brother at times. It's him that makes me hate dying because I'm worried about him. Please make sure he finishes college and becomes a policeman because that's he's dream. Second, please meet up with your former members. Who do you think should've won the Album of the Year?

MAMA: 2016

Since I can’t photo edit or gif today, I’ll settle for my annual MAMA recap. Spoilers included.

1. SONG OF THE YEAR: Twice, ‘Cheer Up’. I’m not against it. I know it was hugely popular. It’s just really not my thing though.

2. BEST RAP PERFORMANCE: CJamm and BeWhy, ‘Puzzle’. I’m quite surprised by this but if it got through based on technique and a catchy hook then it deserves it. BeWhy was brilliant live.

3. BEST MALE SOLO: Zico. He really deserved this. This was such a good and busy year for him. I know everyone works hard but he was on collab projects, his first solo album, TV shows AND still did Block B releases in Korea and Japan.

4. EXO: They won Best Style, Best Male Group and Album of the Year. I feel that as one of the most popular groups in kpop, they should win something but E'XACT is their worst album musically. The sales and fan responses are valid measures but overall, compared to their previous releases, there’s nothing about it that says Album of the Year. I’m not being bitter, I don’t think WINGS should be winning this either.

5. LIVE PERFORMANCES: Timbaland is a brilliant producer but that performance with Eric was awkward. He looked out of place. Wiz did a great job though. It’s amusing that they didn’t blur out tattoos because they would’ve had to blur him out from head to toe. The intro to Blood Sweat and Tears was awesome. The intro to EXO was pretty cool too. I will never understand why they picked ‘Transformer’ to do at the MAMAs though, they have so many other great songs but maybe they really like that one.

6. FAVOURITE LIVE MOMENTS: I will always have a soft spot for BeWhy including the pianist, Yiruma, on his live stage. The piano solo was my favourite live performance. I actually have dreams that Mino did this with ‘Fear’. Haha. It would’ve been amazing.

7. BTS. Okay time to talk about this. Artist of the Year and Dance Performance of The Year. The two categories I thought they deserved and then it came to true. I really can’t believe it. 2016 really was their year, no other artist made a bigger impact in kpop (that can be quantified). Everyone thinks their bias group deserves it but I’m really just referring to the numbers and figures here. Records do not lie. Even if I didn’t like them I couldn’t deny how they dominated the year. Their Producer’s award was also overdue. Should’ve won during the ‘I Need U’ era because that song blew them up everywhere.

8. Overall I think most of the awards went to the correct people. We all have biases and bitterness but at least everything was more shared out this year. I’m glad Seventeen won an award. I’m not such a big fan of their music but they are quite talented and it’s good to see talent rewarded. What’s next? The SMA? I’m totally exhausted already haha. I feel like anything BTS wins from now on is just the cherry on top of a mighty delicious cake.
