i think research (so, not just a popculture magazine article or smth) needs to be done on what the appeal of a bassist is because why is it a universal thing. like. bassists are just. good. like. why. there's a shift away from focussing on the lead guitarist and vocalist and this sudden niche-but-no-longer-niche 'appreciation' (whatever you want that to mean) for the bassist/s????

#and also idk if drummers are A Thing yet but why do rockbands have TROPES #like. idk how to explain it #mind u im not really into real bands this way^^ but when i think about writing bands or charcaterisation or whatever its like. default #and i /do/ get content on my feed about bands and its a very. communcal experience or smth #idk if experience is the right word #anyways i am so interested in this #because there was a point in my life where i was suddenly like. yknow what? there is such An Appeal with bassists but idk what it is #and then suddenly my feed was like. supporting this random thought and i was like ??? wait this isnt a me thing this is A Thing

in relation to this post (didn't wanna hijack op's post w something of a different nature) but like. as a child of refugees/immigrants, there's this constant kind of. "when I was your age, I xyz" and like i understand that and i understand you went through a lot of hard things and i understand that you had to push yourself to survive but like. i am trying my best and just because i have it 'easier' now does not mean that i need to exert myself to the extent that you did? and i know that sounds a little inconsiderate and ungrateful but like. the circumstances are different and just because, to you, it seems easier, does not mean it's easy for me - which isn't to say that I would be able to cope with the refugee experience the way you did but. idk it's just. ahh i can't explain it but it really kinda bugs me whenever my parents tell me i'm not trying my best because they went through worse and survived???
