Drawing For Nothing is out!
Forgot to announce this here but the first ten chapters for Drawing For Nothing have been released! For those who missed the last post, this is a free, digital art book for animated films that were either canceled or bombed due to complicated issues.

More chapters are to come. A few highlights in the next installation will be My Peoples and Larrikins.
Also, if anyone wants to help research, feel free to send a DM! We're also working on a new cover that will feature custom artwork of various characters from these movies. If you think you got what it takes to draw in the style of another artist, we would appreciate the help!

Like idk man every time I post something relating to my interests at least once and pull in followers who want more of this stuff outta me there's always a bug in the back of my head that feels this innate obligation to provide consistently or else people are going to automatically lose interest even if it's inevitable / not indicative of my ability to create. I've grown tired of fandom both as a concept and as a form of community and I just can't bring myself to entirely separate from it. I try to spread myself too thin by making sideblogs just so there isn't an unhealthy ratio of art that I decide to make but even that has become so exhausting to maintain I just want to be able to do whatever. I hate that I've conditioned myself to think that I'm never going to form a community of people that are interested in my art period if I keep creating one type of thing and that I have to think about every aspect of art akin to a business even though that's what I'm trying really hard to break away from. Anyways I think social media artists ( especially on twitter ) need to pay dearly for their crimes.
Do not come to this post talking about how numbers don't matter yadda yadda bc that's not what this post is about.
Flip Flopping between whether I should keep the facade of trying to cater towards a fandom audience with fanart ( regardless if I wanted to draw it or not ) or just not care and post whatever I feel comfortable with ( be it my own characters etc.. )

for my fellow psychotics who struggle with thinking someone is in their house, a method I’ve found that really works are these guys:
Tumblr media
i put them on my front door and anytime it opens they ring. that way if i think someone has broken in or i see someone who isn’t there i can think back to if the bells have rung, and if they haven’t i can assure myself it’s not real. obviously it’s not fool proof, like if you are prone to auditory hallucinations, but it has really helped me calm down in time to avoid major psychotic breaks. it’s a real lifesaver

😬 for spinal tap and 👽 for orko?
😬 (Spinal Tap) The worst thing they've done. (prompts)
That really depends on if you're going to take my fact as his creator or his opinion as a character. The former is a big spoiler so I cannot tell, so you'll get the latter.
Spinal Tap, despite appearing proud of being the Panacean and a worshipper of Starseed, feels the worst thing he's done was to become the Panancean. Even though he did not choose it, and was chosen by his god, a god who doesn't exactly have the capacity to communicate through fleshy organism ways and can only just be. He feels as if becoming Starseed's chosen was a selfish 'act' on his part that he must atone to.
This is likely an idea he reached compartmentalizing the experiments and abuse he faced by his sister, and it shows through him being very selfless in expending his healing powers even at the cost of himself.
---
👽(Orko) A weird quirk of theirs (prompts)
In Prima Materia, the Trollans are from another planet by pure accident (as in one day a bunch of them accidentally brought themselves to Eternia) rather than Orko just appearing, and have been living alongside Eternians for just over a half century now. Despite this, Orko is considered a bit more quirkier than the rest of the bunch. Trollans are very lighthearted and playful, but they take magic seriously. Because, by an Eternian standard, they are a magical phenomenon (think PM!geolans, they exist because of magic instead of existing with possession of magic). Casting spells is essential to their continued existence like breathing air is to us, because it essentially keeps them 'charged' in a way you can ask a Trollan scholar about and not me. Thankfully they sent themselves to a planet where their magic is compatible with Eternia's, unlike the Horokoth's which is not.
So, Orko he doesn't really take magic as seriously as other trollans do. Trollan magic is very concentrated, and while they do use it for fun (a lot more than an Eternian magician would tolerate), they do see it as a duty that has to be done to exist, and not taking it seriously leads to cases of not being able to control it, like... being sent to another planet! So, in Orko's case, he views it as simply fun. He loves magic, but he like's it because of it's fun, and not because he needs to do it or he'll go away and turn the entire Castle Eternos upside down in the process.
Anyway, quirk with that context in mind... Orko doesn't memorize spells, or take the construction of spells seriously (trollans are like Eternian word witches, and use words to cast spells. but trollans have to construct the spell through their words versus a phrase linked to a spell like word witches do. does that even make sense!?). He makes things up on the fly, so his magic will end up being usually unpredictable or resulting in things like making a person's super bulky heavy armor come alive and carry them away when he meant to make the person able to move freely in it. Since he doesn't routinely use magic and uses it when he wants to, his spells also have an added degree of chaos to them because of that.
So, essentially, Orko loves his quirky magic to the point it's made him quirky to Trollans and Eternians alike.

I’m also interested hearing what exactly the ship is that you based your answer on, if you’d like to share!
(This was meant to be fandom specific but doesn’t have to be. Be free!)
