Summary

“The fire didn't burn Charles but the sun did.”

When Charles survives what should have been a fatal crash he retires. No explanations, no warning. And Max doesn't understand it, how Charles could just change overnight and cut ties with everything he cared about.

When Max returns to Monaco for winter break he finds out why Charles left. After multiple attempts to get Charles to talk to him about what happened Charles finally gives Max the truth. And the truth is far darker than Max bargained for.

But underneath it all Charles really hasn't changed as much as he'd tried to make the world believe.

Or Charles becomes a vampire and things are never the same

I love the fact that at some point we all just have to accept Luci's insane writing process because we can't argue with Results XD

I accept it, but I don't have to be happy about it. I do accept very juicy results, cannot complain about those.

Talking with Luci about what she's planning is wild. Because I will ask about what might happen etc and I get her talking like this for about 30 mins

However after 30 mins does any of what she just said make any sense? NOOOO. And she scraps about half of it anyway because and I quote "It lives in my head so I can change it whenever I want"

And fair reader you might be wondering. What if Luci forgets a part of her story? Well I have asked this many a time and they always say.

"Don't worry I remember everything"

And the very annoying part about getting this answer is that she's always right. Luci has been my friend for years and not once has she forgotten a single stupid detail about her stories. I am patiently waiting for the day this blows up in her face, but unfortunately Luci's brain seems to be as they say "built different"

I share all of this to highlight how Luci never sounds like she knows what she's doing. She can't show you their plans, and if she tries explaining them they fall apart. THEN she has the audacity to turn in a chapter that not only is well written, but amazing storytelling and wildly entertaining.

Only then does that 30 minutes of rambling make sense, and not a moment sooner.
