What color is the name William?
I don't really have colors for full words, only individual letters (particularly vowels). For "William", the two 'i's and the 'a' tint it a bright blue-green and red, like a parrot.

Hello! this isn’t a culture submission, but i have a question! I think i may have a form of synesthesia?
I will randomly associate sights and sounds with smells. For example, a line from a song smelled like sawdust, and there was nothing around me that would emanate this smell, nor did the song have anything to do with sawdust. Or sometimes people will look like smells as well. And this won’t happen all the time, only often enough to affect me.
Hopefully this isn’t too confusing, i’m genuinely curious if this is synesthesia :]
Seems like synesthesia to me! Since there are so many possible kinds of synesthesia, I'm not sure if yours has an existing name, but "olfactory" is the word we use to refer to smell-related synesthesia, so if you wanted you might call this visual-olfactory and auditory-olfactory.
If your associations are random and spontaneous and generally unrelated to the actual content of the songs (or the physical smell of the person involved), then it's safe to say you have synesthesia!

Synesthete culture is having trouble remembering some multi-digit numbers because of how some numbers shift colors when combined
e.g. for me 3s are green and 5s are blue, but when they stand next to each other they become bright teal, so 353, 535, 335, 553 etc are all "teal-teal-teal"

Synesthete culture is accidentally calling a word/song/date etc pretty out loud, and having everyone stare at you like you're crazy. (And then making it worse by trying to explain why it's pretty.)

Synesthete culture is working through your issues in therapy and then realizing one day that you've also made amends with the number 6 and the color purple (???) Neither of which were related to any of your issues

synesthete culture is having numbers in peoples names in your phone that accidentally correspond to how you feel about them based on the colors they are, the order, color they combine to be, & the numbers personalities

Synesthete culture is getting super tripped up by rhythm games because the arrows you need to hit don’t match up with the way the music moves in your head and you have to fight against your own brain to beat it, and sometimes the color of the arrows don’t match with either the sound or the direction which makes it worse
