ON CANON I actually haven’t seen much past season five, and am in the process now of finishing season six. In my main verse, Cassie takes up hunting accidentally: she’s following a story that takes her out-of-state, and as she follows the story, she starts uncovering details that make it seem more and more like what she’s following is actually a supernatural occurrence. As far as she’s heard, Dean is dead, so she can’t reach out to him; she meets Ellen Harvelle briefly, and upon learning of her connections to various hunters, passes along her information. Unfortunately, Cassie is targeted by the demon she’s following, and is forced to try and deal with the demon in order to protect herself. After that, she continues hunting, and crosses paths with Dean again after the end of season five. 

I of course won’t assume anything for any Dean I’m writing with, but I would love to explore this further !!
