It had been several days since Declan and Alina had spoken - not since the day she had told him she wouldn't take him back, not so soon. He had understood why she wouldn't. After everything he had done to her before... no matter how much he regretted the things he had done before, there was no taking them back and he would have to take time to show her he had change.

But every time Declan saw her around Skyhold, he ached to be near her, to touch her like how he had once upon a time. Before he had done those awful things. Before he had let his father and the Chantry's teachings corrupt him.

He had never expected to miss her like this. In the two years they had been separated, he had only thought about her a few times. Of course he had been in the middle of war, so it was hard to think of much at the time. Plus she had been safe with Claire then. Even now Claire was always with her - which only made it harder for him to even try to talk to her. Any time he even looked at her, Claire was threatening him.

Yet Claire wasn't with her now. Neither was Varric, Dorian, Cassandra... any of the usual ones who kept them separated most of the time. Alina was completely alone as Declan walked up to her now. She didn't even seem to notice that he was right behind her. Declan's arms wrapped around Alina's waist as he rest his chin on her shoulder. "Hi," he whispered, smiling slightly.
