“And here I thought last night had been enough, greediness is unladylike.” He commented dryly, though he could feel the goosebumps rising on his skin, the touch only stirring memories of the night.
“If I were to say yes, would you be gracious enough to make it up to me?” Perhaps he should have worded himself differently, though the remaining sleepy haze of his kinda seemed to allow that to pass unnoticed.

Jae adjusted his uniform in the mirror, dressing up was all for formalities though he still made an effort to try to tame the mess of dark locks on his head and had attempted to get some sleep so the dark circles under his eyes weren't as prominent. Apparently his work throughout the Checkmate disaster and following city construction hadn't gone unnoticed, Jae knew the promotion was good thing. However, he was unsure about the amount of responsibility this promotion would give him, he hadn't started yet was already tired.
He took a breath before opening the door to the conference room, pausing with a quirked brow before glancing at the door number to make sure he had the right room.
"Good evening, Sergent Aryl, sir!" The boy practically leaped from his chair, body going rigid in a straight salute. Despite the rigid posture Jae could still see the way the boy tremble,n ot in fear, but in excitement?
"At ease, what's your name?" He felt uncomfortable being the one on the end of the stiff formalities.
"Milo Fiala, sir! It's an honor to meet you!"
"You can just speak casually when it's the two of us." He shifted, the boy didn't look much younger than him.
"Really?" Milo eyes lit up as his body relaxed though the buzz of excitement didn't leave his form.
"Yeah, I was told that there would be 4 people assigned under me. Where are the others?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure. From what I heard I think they're still in the process of selecting who to assign."
"....." They still felt the need to introduce him to just single person instead of just waiting until they were all ready? It was a weird way to go about it, but he felt a bit relieved to only have to deal with one person instead of a full group.
"...." Milo stared at Jae's thought expression with a giddiness.
"Let's go for a walk then, I believe our first assignment is just wall patrol." He tried not the shrink away from the bright eyed look sent his way.

Jae pushed his thick hair back, the dark strands still soaked with water. The white button up of his uniform stuck to his chiseled form, he had attempted to wring out what water he could from is uniform jacket though decided it was loss cause instead hanging it on the back of the bench.
“It’s fine, seems like we’re quite the lucky pair.” He gave a slight not of agreement glancing at his own drenched shirt, he scooted over offering her to remainder of the bench. “Last announcement said the trains will be delayed due to the rain, might as well make yourself comfortable until then.

From the moment he had agreed to go along with her fake dating scheme he should have known she would be the death of him, he wasn’t an idiot one could cut the tension between them with a knife though to others it was nowhere near as agonizing as it was to him. Despite her smaller frame he found himself pressed against the wall with no sign of escape, usually he could brush off her advances yet recently it he felt his restraint grow thin. He clenched his jaw watching the dip of her sleeve exposing more of her pale skin, he quickly averted his gaze tilting his head away from her though a hand did come up and adjust the sleeve back to a proper position.
“Vi,” It was the closest thing to a pet name he managed to develop during their ruse, he had even begun using it when they were alone. “I know this situation is intended to give you an out from your parents insistent matchmaking and that I am a man of honor and code, but I feel at times you forget I am still a man.” He intended it more as a warning though as he turned his gaze back to her, he knew he was in danger.

Jae didn’t drink, he was one of the few person in his friend group who didn’t. He didn’t care for the taste of alcohol nor did he care for deep slumber getting drunk usually led him down, typically this stuck him with designated driver duty. However, when Jae was high he found himself behaving more like one his drunk friends, though he wasn’t sure why, but his libido seemed to shoot through the roof after a few hits.
Which is what he was the only thing he could blame for his current situation, calloused hand leading his newfound partner through the noisy party as they searched for an empty spare room. In his haze it was hard to keep track of how the situation had escalated so fast, maybe he was just better at flirting when he was able to relax.
“Are you sure about this?” He asked over his shoulder, trying another doorknob to check if the room was currently occupied. He tried to remain cool as he moved onto a different door, he would hate to look desperate.

Why had he agreed to attend a party that his long term ex-girlfriend was involved with? To wallow in his self pity, to see many of the mutual friends they shared, or to show how well he was doing since their break-up? He wasn’t sure either, seeing her prance with her new partner and the pitiable looks others would cast him upon whispering to each other certainly wasn’t any help.
So, when the frivolous suggestion left Blake’s lips Jae found himself more than inclined to agree.
“Me? Dance?” He questioned with a light chuckle and small shake of his head, though he unfolded his brawny arms and stood, calloused hand taking hers following to the dance floor already flooded with couples. He wasn’t one to act on impulse, he was more typically more methodical than this. “I’m a horrible dancer, this may end up having the opposite effect.”

He had the worst luck didn’t he? He had thought he timed his schedule where no one else would be in the bathing area, clearly he miscalculated somewhere seeing as he had company. “Hello.” He greeted back suddenly more conscious of the situation, at least she was screaming at him to leave. “...if you don’t mind, pardon the intrusion...” The relaxation tub was probably his favorite part about the facility, he was willing to endure the situation instead of being in a crowded tub with his teammates. He kept his towel around his waist until he was fully submerged in the water.

Why was a third year team currently waiting on the loading docks for a assignment that was almost exclusively for first years, you ask? Simple, they had failed it their first year…and second. Third times the charm, right?
“Should we start making bets on how long we last this year?” Van glanced towards his teammates, he was confident that they’d be fine this year especially considering that the cause for the heavy tension had decreased compared to the previous years. He stood tall and confident though still relaxed, leaning to the side using his golden bat to support most of his weight.
“….that may depend on who we are paired with this year, despite our progress we may still be deemed unfit and disorderly..” Nava’s quiet voice spoke up quoting what had been previously used the fail them the year prior.
“Maybe we’ll make it more than two feet off the ship this year.” Lye added with a soft giggle, her long braid swayed with the wind as another ship took off.
“I would at least like to pass this year.” Jae responded in a dry tone, he didn’t know how they managed to slip by despite their previous two failures.

“Aryl! Aryl!” Van called out sweaty and out of breath, he needed to catch Jae before he got to the locker room. He bit his lips debating internally. “Oi! Jae!” Why did it feel so awkward using his first name, but it got the job done as the dark haired boy turned around letting the rabbit catch up.
“You played really well back there man, your defense is even better than last year!”
“Oh, thanks. I mean I had a good reason to keep up. Plus getting kicked into the goal post a third time wouldn’t be good look.” Jae returned the compliment with a smile. “Did you need something?”
Van suddenly looked nervous, an expression Jae had never seen on him before.
“I know the seasons not over yet an’ all, but I uh..” He paused rubbing the back of his neck, seemingly trying to find what to say. “..I was just thinkin’ we could start hangin’ out after..” He paused again ears shifting back and forth. “Yknow, when you’re not busy with all your school shit…just an idea, I’ll probably have a lot of free time once this season finishes up..”Realizing he was rambling Van cleared his throat to stop himself from trailing off any further.
“Yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun.” Jae responded with a smile, finding himself very amused with this new side of Van. “My families here so I have to go get ready, but Lye has my number so just send me a text whenever.”
“Oh, my families here too. Yeah, yeah, totally.” Van couldn’t stop the wide grin the spread across his lips, Jae blinked, he had never seen such a genuine look on the blondes face before.
“Just remember, next time I’m kicking your ass.” The cheeky grin returned a moment later as the pair bid farewell and made their way to their respective locker rooms.
