The Venice Express (Download Tray Files & CC)

So I've been receiving a few DMs asking me whether my lots are up on The Gallery or somewhere else to be downloaded. To be more specific, my Grand Express (Columbia Station) Lot seems to be getting a lot of attention (which I'm so, so glad!).

As you may already know if you follow my Tumblr, my game and therefore my save file is kinda messed up ever since the last update (mostly my UI), so unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to share that lot with you guys. However, I've decided to create a brand new train from scratch and finally contribute somehow to this thriving historical Sims 4 community I'm loving so much. I may not have the talent to create CC myself, but as a former stylist I sure can put things others have created together to make 'em look nice lol. Without further delay, allow me to introduce you to The Venice Express!

Clearly inspired by the legendary and breathtaking Venice Simplon Orient-Express, the lot consists of a three wagon train (two of them with private cabins, the third one featuring a lounge bar and a small kitchen), a log cabin and a recreation area with a wooden arbor. Here are some screenshots:

Before you go ahead and download it into your game, a few IMPORTANT disclaimers:

The lot is a 50x50. If you want the enviroment to look just like my screenshots, make sure to place it in the big lot on top of the hill on Mount Komorebi.

I use ReShade in all my screenshots, so lighting/colors may vary from what it looks like on your game.

I used items from a few expansions and packs (listed in picture below), so if you don't own them those items might be replaced with others.

Like all my builds, this is a heavily CC based lot. If you don't have a powerful PC, it might get laggy while trying to play with it.

Regarding the CC, I do not own nor take credit from any item included within this lot. All credit goes to their amazing creators.

The .ZIP file (3.19 GB) includes two folders: one for the Tray Files and another one with all the CC. I'm 100% sure all the CC I used is already public for everyone; if it's not, it's been definitely longer than three weeks since it has all been in my game and you (the CC creator) shouldn't be putting content behind permanent paywalls to begin with ;)

I did use bb.moveobjects on while building and have NOT playtested it, so you might have to move some items for them to be functional.

The lot is currently set as a Residential, but you can certainly change it to anything else... including a Residential Rental and perhaps making each cabin a different apartment.

Needs bar don't change color

So once again I'm having the same bug where the needs bars don't change color when they get high/low. I've had this bug in the past and I know it's mod related, it usually was connected to the Slice of Life Mod or the custom traits I had, but I deleted the first one and updated the second ones... so that's not it this time. I've also updated Wicked Whims, Basemental Drugs, the TOOL mod and the UI Cheats Extension and it is still not fixed.

I've got over 59 GB of CC so trying to figure out which one is creating that bug is going to be quite a hustle. If anyone else is experiencing the same issue and happens to know what mod can be causing it, I'd greatly appreciate some help! Lol

Lovely afternoon tea at Doylesworth Street with Miss Suzette Palmer, featuring @happylifesims' new gorgeous set and @syboubou's Boulangerie set.

She then went to Bloomingdale's for a new pair of earrings... boy, does she like her sparkles!

Unfortunately, she was recognized and got asked to get photographed. Ever since she became the new "it girl" she can hardly leave her house without being asked to strike a pose.

I keep making great progress with Doylesworth Street, y'all! I've already finished both squares (there's one with a fountain right next to the church and then the second one is across the street, which kinda serves as the main one... with an arbor for live music and all sorts of shops around) and Bloomingdale's, the super fancy schmancy store where my sims will go get the latest fashions:

Bloomingdale's sells all sorts of items, from trendy outfits made from the best garments for all those crazy flappers to a wide variety of accesories like hats, purses, perfumes, pearls and even makeup and nailpolish! Just about anything a gal could need. There's also room for the gentleman, with a great selection of suits, chemises, ties, top hats and, of course, watches and cufflinks.

For those with a tight budget, Bloomingdale's offers the best garments by the cut. Get a piece of fabric and sew it yourself, you'll save a few pennies for sure!

I'm also done with the last build on the street: the super luxurious mansion where (obviously) the landlord will inhabit. I don't know if I mentioned it before, but the two townhouses you saw on my previous post are each divided in two apartments, one per floor. This mansion though serves as one big-ass unit:

If you couldn't tell, it's loosely inspired by Phryne Fisher's mansion, from Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.

So... how do you like it so far? I cannot believe the insane amount of time I'm spending on building this lot, I think I'm on my fifth day on a row now lol

WIP of my most ambitious lot to date: a whole damn street lol. Welcome to Doylesworth St.!

The one thing that bothers me the most when I'm playing an historical save file (and I play nothing but historical haha) is having random townies popping up NOT wearing proper attire from whichever decade I'm playing on (it's always the '20s, who am I kidding). It just ruins the immersion for me so badly!

So with the release of the For Rent expansion and since the new lot type it's technically a residential/private lot, I thought I'd create a small world within a residential-rental lot and populate it with accurately dressed tenants. That way they'll be living in their own apartments and use the shared spaces (cafés, stores, a train station, etc) as if it was a town, so my sim will always see a friendly/accurately dressed neighbor out and about :)

So far, the lot includes two NY styled townhouses (I'm obsessively watching The Gilded Age, hence the inspiration), a café/patisserie, a church, two parks/squares, a store (kinda like Bloomingdale's) and a train station (and yes, the wagons are functional for gameplay).

I've been working on it non-stop for like three days lol, but I still have a loooong way to go till it's finished. Just wanted to show my progress to you guys because I am way too excited with this and needed to share it with someone who cares hahaha.

Also, I've been thinking of releasing it for everyone to download and play with once it's finished, but it is SO heavily CC based (I basically use nothing but CC) I'm worried most people won't wanna use it/bother having to download all the items required for it to look like the screenshots. What do you guys think?

And may I just say, I love how the historical TS4 community is thriving. You guys inspire me so much to go in game and continue creating, especially @aheathen-conceivably, @antiquatedplumbobs, @gilded-ghosts, @javitrulovesims and @simadelics (whose amazing new hairstyles set I cannot wait to try)... your work amazes me everytime <3

So I'm guessing you noticed that little convenience store on the corner when I showed you the 1920s apartment building I'm creating for the upcoming For Rent Expansion the other day, didn't you?

If you go inside you'll find your average day to day items: some canned goods, fresh fruit and vegetables, bottled milk, all kinds of herbs and spices for your natural remedies, etc. I mean, what else could one be seeking for at a convenience store, right?

Heck, even if you make it to the stockroom in the back you wouldn't find anything other than some dusty wooden boxes and stacked barrels. Wait, is that a door? What? A backroom within the backroom? Hmm... that's weird.

Oh I see, there's a staircase leading me down to the basement. God, for such a small store they sure have quite a lot of space in the back, don't they? Hold on, is that jazz music that I'm hearing?

Holy cow, it's a freaking speakeasy! They even have a little stage with a piano and a mic for live music!

Now being serious, I'm an absolute sucker for speakeasies (if you happen to come to Madrid, be sure to check out one called "Bad Company 1920"... it's one of my favorites!) and when I heard we're gonna have "shared" spaces that all tenants will be able to use and hang out at I told myself: I know what mine is going to be lol

We finally have a tenant for the red/pink apartment, y'all! Like I said before and by the looks of it, I felt like that apartment had to be owned by a young, single little lady. One of those crazy flappers one could see hanging around town at indecent times at night, smoking from their thin cigarette holders and dancing to the Charleston like there's no tomorrow!

One does not have to be too bright to see she's clearly inspired by Sally Bowles from Cabaret. And yes, she'll have green nails as an homage to the one and only Liza Minnelli. Don't be fooled by her million simoleon looks, though: she comes from the wrong side of the tracks, most of her jewels are rhinestones and the few expensive items she owns came from admirers and suiters from the speakeasy she works at as a showgirl... for 5 simoleons an hour. Yikes!

Now, I'd like you to help me picking up a name for her. I'm in between a few choices:

Well, here I come with the second apartment for this 1920's building! I have to say this Vintage Save File of mine is coming along quiet great in my opinion, I'm happy with how it's turning out tbh. It's taking way longer than what I would've anticipated, but hey lol

This one is slightly smaller, even shabbier and in worse condition than the previous one. I mean, none of the apartments in this building are that great to begin with, they have clearly seen better times... but you can tell this one's way messier!

I imagined it perhaps belongs to a young fella, an aspiring writer who's too keen on "making it" to waste his time entertaining... much less receiving the visit of any lady friends. Hence the chaos.

What do you think? Who should be the next tenant?

So who else is super hyped about the upcoming "For rent" expansion? I'm so eager to try it out it actually got me inspired to go back in game after a while and create some 1920's apartments for my Vintage Save File!

So far I'm done with the first one, which I imagined that belonged to a young, single flapper. She's definitely in show business... perhaps a showgirl working at a cabaret? Take a look!

Yeah, I know... I've been kinda gone from Tumblr for a while and I left my murder mystery gameplay unsolved. I plan to go back to it eventually don't you worry, I just haven't had the inspo to keep it going lately (plus work has been insane for me and I've also been kinda cheating TS4 with Hogwarts Legacy to be honest)

However, I thought I'd come back from my cave with this little Halloween post inspired by my absolute favorite drag queen of all time... the one and only miss Juno Birch! Yes, that's happening!

She's been posting sims videos again lately and honestly... they're giving me LIFE! Anyways, happy Halloween everybody!

By the time everyone arrived to the grand dining room, Edna was already sitting there, all dolled up in a stunning two-pieced white silk gown and waiting for them.

— What an odd thing... your mother likes to make an entrance—Vivienne whispered to Cooper's ear.

— Shh... mother darling! Don't you look radiant!

— Save it, Cooper. Please, take a seat and join me for dinner.

They all obeyed without hesitation. Everything was beautifully set, with white and blue toile de jouy china, gold silverwear and a big Louis XVI chandelier right in the middle, chairing the table.

Edna Claythorpe waited for everyone to take their seats, stared at them for a minute and calmly said:

— Thank you all for coming all this way to join me.

— Did we have a choice? You were pretty clear in the letter you sent us. This dinner was not to be missed— Vivienne replied, without even looking up from her plate. She was brave enough to dare Edna, but not while looking at her in the eyes.

— I see you still got your white trash charm intact, Vivienne.

— Ladies, please— Cooper interrumpted— Could we have a pleasant evening, for a change?

— She's right, though. It was crucial for each one of you to be here tonight... as I've got some news to deliver— she sentenced. Edna made a dramatic pause, and then continued saying— I've taken some decissions regarding you all.

— Including me, Mrs. Claythorpe?— Reverend Da Gioia asked timidly.

— Oh, yes. Including you, Reverend.

— Well, don't keep us waiting mother. What decissions are those?

— First of all, I've decided to put Deadgrass Isle on the market.

— You're selling the manor? Why?— Cooper asked, in shock.

— Why wouldn't I? I had it built to my vision and desires and so I shall decide what happens to it.

— I was raised in between these walls too, mother. Don't you think I should also have a say in the matter? And what will happen with Tackett and his daughter? Are you gonna throw them out like dogs?

— Look at my son, worrying about the help. In all the years he lived here he treated them with the coldest of shoulders, and suddenly he wonders about their wellbeing. In regards to the manor, not only are you not going to have a say in the matter, Cooper... you're not going to see a dime of whatever amount comes from it, either.

— Wait, what?— Vivienne asked.

— Yes, I am terribly sorry dear Vivienne, but you're gonna have to find some other family to provide for your goldigging expectations.

Vivienne put her hands on her forehead and shook her head.

— Mother...

— I'm also cutting you off, completely. From now on, you're on your own.

— Mrs. Claythorpe— Reverend Da Gioia interrumpted— Don't you think you might...?

— Oh, and that takes me to my next big announcement— Edna said, without letting Lorenzo finish— Or should I say yours, Reverend? You will be packing your bags, leaving Brindleton Bay and moving to Copperdale. Next week.

— I beg you pardon? Now why would I do that?

— Because if you don't, I will make sure everyone in this town knows about your disgusting little habits myself... and you won't be able to exercise in any catholic church. Not here, not anywhere.

— I don't even know what you're talking about, Edna. For God's sake, why on earth...?

— She knows— Cooper said in a whisper.

— What?

— She knows, Lorenzo— Cooper repeated, staring at the wall right in front of him— It's over.

Suddenly, Reverend Da Gioia understood. There was no need for them to continue with that charade. He swallowed and struggled to find the courage to say something back.

— Is she talking about what I think she's talking, Cooper?— Vivienne asked aggressively, breaking the silence that had taken over the table.

— We'll talk about it later, Vivienne. It's complicated.

Vivienne rolled her eyes and banged on the table.

— So, is it true? Are you screwing a goddamn Reverend?

— Vivienne, if you could please...— Reverend Da Gioia said, trying to calm the waters.

— Shut the fuck up, this is unbelievable! I knew it, I simply knew it! Believe me when I say if your mother doesn't report you to the authorities, I will do it myself!

— Now hush hush, darling Vivienne— Edna interrumpted, with a tone close to sarcasm— You can stop the act, too. You never cared about my son, neither his loyalty or fidelity. All you cared about was his money, and now you know he's not worth a dime. That's what you're really upset about, isn't it?

— I, I, I...— Vivienne mumbled.

— Truth is— Edna continued— you're all nothing but vultures, with your dark ambitions, lies and secret agendas. And now that it's all over and I've discovered each and every one of you, I'm just gonna sit back, relax and enjoy watching all this madness unravel.

As everyone started to talk over each other trying to justify themselves in a joint turmoil, Edna kept quiet and smiled. Little did she know, she had just dug her own grave. Within a few hours, Edna Claythorpe would be dead.
