welp it’s 1am and we’re here getting weirdly emotional over ~names~ welcome to my brain

#i found an author on Twitter that has the same name as my mom #(why is that such a big deal? I hear you asking WELL…) #I’ve only ever seen someone/something that shared my mom’s name one (1) other time #that was about a month ago reading a YA realistic fiction romance book #(one of the side characters) #and this got me thinking #maybe that’s part of the reason why I want to try out so many names?? #because even with all the media we have #I’ve still never been able to point at a person or a character and say ‘hey they have the same name as me!’ #neither has my mom #and I know that I should probably feel ✨special✨ and ✨unique✨ because of that #and sometimes I do #but other times… it almost hurts? #I want to be able to point at a character that I love and go ‘we even have the same name haha!’ #but instead I get teachers mispronouncing my name for 18+ years #‘reena? rehna? rhianna?’ it’s *really* not that hard #and it’s not like I have an easy nickname locked and loaded every time this happens #(seriously look at my name and see if you can come up with a nickname for that.
