x. “there’s a killer storm going on outside, so unless you want to disappear under mysterious circumstances, i suggest you get comfortable." for Hayley from @3katanas
The irony of his use of the word killer was not lost on her, but Hayley was in no mood for any attempts at humor to divert her attention. It seemed like anything and everything was out to kill her these days and she felt like she was practically crawling out of her skin, the phase of the moon close to full and with her condition unable to shift to her wolf form where she felt most comfortable around this time. The rest of the pack would’ve already turned without her, hunting and roaming the bayou and bordering woods all while she and Zoro were cooped up in the small cabin at the edge of the waterfront dock. The tin roof was barely holding the deluge at bay, the sound of torrential rain and winds as deafening and irritating as the creaks in the old worn floorboards as she continued to pace the same path back and forth just in front of the front door. The small layout didn’t allow for much room beyond the few pieces of rudimentary furniture and wood burning stove with adjoining kitchenette but Hayley couldn’t be persuaded to sit still in her current state. Wired and wound up from her wolf nature warring within her against the combination of pregnancy hormones is what had earned her getting exiled to the cottage in the first place. It had been deemed safer by everyone that she try to remain as far away from Klaus as possible after one explosive argument that had resulted in the untimely murder of some of Marcel’s grunt force vampires. “Easy for you to say, how the hell am I supposed to get comfortable in my own body when there’s a whole other person taking over it.” She snapped at him, crossing her arms above her growing belly as she shot a glare in Zoro’s direction where he lounged comfortably and far too casually on the single bed in the corner. She ran her hands over her baby bump apologetically, never really blaming her baby for her current state or mood but instead knew it had much more to do with feeling like a caged animal when the creature within her desired nothing but freedom. “Besides. If I went missing for a while I think it would solve most.. No. All of our problems actually.”

x. "This is what happens when you over-exert yourself.” - Hayley for @3katanas
Hayley was quick to glare at Zoro despite the fact that he was currently shouldering more than half of her own body weight and keeping her upright. Her knees felt shaky, limbs weighted with iron or lead and muscles weakened and liquified and unable to keep her on her own two feet if Zoro hadn’t been close enough to catch her. With one arm slung across his shoulders and his own positioned around her midsection, Hayley leaned heavily into him feeling her own feet stumbling in front of one another with every step she took. “Is that your expert medical opinion? I’m a pregnant werewolf, not helpless thank you very much but I’ll be sure to keep that advice in mind the next time I get knocked up with some creepy hybrid vampire baby.” Her body might’ve been weakened but her mind remained just as sharp and yet something felt off. Something not quite right. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear I was drunk. I promise, I'm not that kind of mom.” She managed, half-heartedly joking as her words began to sound slurred together as she felt her own heartbeat thudding in her chest at a steadier and much more rapid pace than the baby’s which she remained constantly aware of to monitor. “Zoro.. something is… this isn’t just exertion..” She managed, closing her eyes for a moment as her surroundings began to spin and swim around her. Shaking her head, Hayley fought against the wave of sudden drowsiness threatening to pull her under, a cold sweat beginning to break out across her forehead. Eyes snapping open, she looked at him with sudden fear and desperation in her wide eyes. “A spell… this is something magical.”

x. continued from here with @3katanas
There was no fight left in her, barely enough energy to remain upright as they made their way back to the house and far from the carnage they’d left. Limbs torn, carcasses of supernatural creatures left mangled to send a message and yet Hayley’s eyes drifted over the scene of violence with no care at all, looking instead only for Zoro as he gravitated to her side as if magnetized by her need for comfort through his very proximity. He had protected her and her daughter at any cost, keeping his promise and sealing the fate of his loyalty to them both in an oath of blood still marking him from head to toe. She felt like she was weightless, disconnected for a moment until his hand found hers, fingers entwining to tether them together in a show of solidarity as much as it bonded them together as a singular unit. Words failed, Hayley unable to find any of gratitude worthy enough to do his actions justice and instead she lead him soundlessly through her bedroom to the adjoining bathroom to run a hot shower uncaring for the layers of soiled clothes they both still wore. She was tempered, slow and methodical in her movements as she looked up to him to meet his gaze in search of unspoken permission before shedding each layer between them. Hayley lifted his shirt, palms splaying across the exposed skin of his chest as she pulled it up and over his head, tossing it aside in the corner of the shower as the water continued to run red. She felt the warmth of his body so close in combination with the steam heat of the shower overhead, his contentment coming out in throaty vibrations that had a small smile tugging at her lips and pleased with providing him a fraction of the comfort he afforded her with his security and protection. He took his turn as equally slow, pushing the jacket from her shoulders before taking her bloodied t-shirt up along with it. She allowed him, biting her bottom lip with fleeting insecurity until his fingers found their way to her cheek and then her hair as he sought to rid her hair of flesh and blood with tender touch. She felt absolved, the intimate moment between them weighty with the only sound the pooling water circling the gurgling drain. His lips followed, ensuring the cleanliness of her in the wake of his hands roaming down her body until Zoro was kneeling before her and streams of water pouring over them both. He bowed his head, leaning against her exposed belly as Hayley’s fingers affectionately wound their way through his hair, offering a gentle tug and reminder that they were both in fact safe because of him. They were together, they were whole because of him. She hooked a finger beneath his chin, forcing him to lift his head again and meet her gaze, wishing him to rise again to his feet so that her lips could repay the favor to his.

x. [ BLOCK ]: sender steps in between the receiver and the threat, this time facing the receiver while turning their back to the threat and blocking them from the receiver's line of sight. (for Haley) from @3katanas
She knew what he was going to do even before his plan was set in motion; Hayley knew him, knew he would always make the choice to put himself between her and clear and present danger with the oath that bound them together. However, it didn’t mean she had to like the choices he made and already she was gritting her teeth in anger for him doing something so belligerent and stupid and using her as the claim or excuse to do so. Before she could reach out to him, Zoro had already stepped in front of her to keep her hidden from the hunter’s view with the use of his own body as a shield to protect her and keep her concealed. An arrow had been loosed by the hunter and Hayley could sense the moment the tip hand landed its’ target, both from the look on Zoro’s face with a fleeting wince of pain and the immediate scent of his blood. He’d turned his back to the hunter, instead choosing to keep his protective focus solely on her and allow the hunter to get the best of him by aiming for a direct target on his back. Scrambling on her hands and knees to lift herself up from the ground, she was desperately reaching out for him in any attempt to drag him down with her for any semblance of coverage or to push him out of the way but Zoro remained unmoving. “This isn’t the time for heroics! We’re not done yet…” There was a growl of that familiar angry fire she carried in her heart, but as she grabbed hold of his hands and tugged, there was pleading desperation in her eyes in hopes of connecting to some sign of self-preservation in him. She was asking him to stay, to stay with her and she wasn’t ready to let him go even if the cost they’d bargained for was him giving his life in place of hers.
