It's lunchtime. At the most popular fast food joint in Golden Ward, lines stretch around the block. Those lucky enough to get their order don't even have room to sit indoors, forcing them to the usually-deserted outdoor tables during this time of year.

A tasty hamburger rests on the table before a seemingly serious woman with platinum blonde hair. Before she can do anything with it, however, a fluffball of white descends on table right beside the plate. Its jewel-like, ruby-red eyes blink brightly at the burger with every twitch of its ears and flick of its tail. This is a message that transcends all barriers of language, race, or creed.

It and the universe asks: are ya gonna finish all that by yourself?

On an ordinary day in an ordinary park, Dog chases Cat. Except the canines have heads like LED screens and—

Dodging yet another mob of Netpups, Kyubey scampers up a tree, leaps into the air, and leaps towards a mop of reddish brown hair attached to a passerby's head.

Plop!

Bull's eye. The Netpups screech to a halt as they start fussing and whining around the boy's ankles instead.

Having four ears makes one sensitive to sound, but fortunately Kyubey is awakened from his nap by pleasant ones. He finds the source of the noise first—music notes—then pokes his head out of the branches of his latest tree to see a slight figure dressed in green playing a stringed instrument.

Kyubey looks around; there aren't any other humans about. Was this one practicing by himself? He's about to lie down and continue his nap when his tail knocks into some leaves, sending them raining down on the poor fellow below.

Dipping his paw into the stream, Kyubey marveled that water really was wet. An inane observation in most situations, but rarely did one expect to run into brooks and flowers in the middle of a library.

As if on cue, a shadow appears above him. Ears perking up, the incubator senses the falling item just in time and leaps into the air, batting it aside with a well-timed smack of his tail.

Right towards the face of a hapless passerby.

Shaking his head free of snowflakes, Kyubey pads diligently through the snow in the direction of the Itadori Residence whose windows are shining like a beacon in the dark. He expects the house to get bigger as he approaches, but the window is still eye level by the time he's within touching distance.

Curiously, the incubator leans forward to press his face against the glass—and that's when his new antlers hit against the window with a dull thunk.

Incubators don't have favorite colors, but if Kyubey had to pink, he'd rate pink pretty high on the list. After all, the last girl he met with the highest potential he had ever seen had that exact same shade of bubblegum pink hair.

Quite shamelessly, he pads up to her (is she napping? she's definitely lying down) and sits on top of the soft fluffy strands to make a worthwhile wish of his own.

He corners the man out of curiosity, finding him not quite human but not knowing why. On a typical day this would be harmless, but a Kyubey standing nearly seven feet tall poses a more subconscious threat. Tail twitching, the incubator moves in to poke the man with the tip of his ear.
