the easiest thing to do is stay quiet when something’s up. you’re not bothered, and you know what? you shouldn’t be! it’s none of your business, even when it’s entirely your business. it’s difficult (read: impossible) to tell if your cheery demeanor is a cover-up for something sadder, or if it’s simply your natural state of mind. you see a lot of things: people coming through town, people leaving the house and never coming back, lies and deceit of the highest degree. what happened to you? will you ever be that kid again? your presence smells like cotton candy, and your fingertips sparkle like stars. whatever white rabbit you’re chasing isn’t going to lead you to wonderland if you don’t start reaching out when you’re not feeling okay.

🕹️Max didn’t like the fact that she could see in the one place that had taken away her ability to see. She didn’t like the fact that she was here once again, she honestly thought this was a nightmare. However she knew deep down... it wasn’t. Biting the inside of her cheek, she began to carefully make her way through- avoiding the vines and such. However what surprised her, was the fact that Mike was here. Shoving her surprise down, she began to make her way towards him.

“Mike!”

She hissed his name quietly, trying to get his attention yet he didn’t move. Was he really ignoring her right now? Her brow furrowing as she pursed her lips, she carefully made her way towards him. Reaching out, she grabbed his arm as she came to a stop behind him. Something wasn’t right... Especially the chill that just went down her spine at how... cold Mike felt.

Rolling back to look up at the ceiling, they gave a small hum.

🕹️Honestly, how could one boy talk so much? It was getting ridiculous. When she had come over to learn about D&D she hadn’t expected it to be an entire lecture. Rolling her eyes slightly, she looked over at Mike- just... looking at him. Honestly, Mike wasn’t that bad looking- sure he could be annoying, frustrating and irritating... He was... easy on the eyes, his hair... looked soft- was soft. Don’t ask. With how long she was looking at Mike, it was a surprise he didn’t say anything. But then again, he wouldn’t get much of a chance before she was leaning over and shutting him up herself.

🕹️Max had simply done what she did when Billy was alive. Sneak off when her brother wasn’t around or when his back was turned. Besides, he was busy with work and school to help their mom so that she wasn’t as stressed or overworked since Neil had skipped down and left Casper here with them. Not that their mother minded, even if it did sometimes hurt her to look at Casper since there were times where her words slipped up and she called him Billy. Regardless, the things that happened were a result of Max’s own determination and stubbornness. 

Back to the present, Max held Mike’s hand in her own; sitting comfortably against the pillows that helped prop her up. Of course Max wasn’t the only one spending time and visiting her, but Mike was certainly one of surprise to most since often or not he would be here when someone else wanted to come by and check on her. She couldn’t help but snort at his words, a small quirk of her lips the only indicator that she had gotten a kick out of his words.

She wet her lips a bit before speaking up as she squeezed his hand with hers.

“Oh believe me... It was nice at least at the beginning... And I don’t make any promises. After all... When I first even got involved in this... Lucas asked me if I was prepared for the risks it would have... I guess I wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was... But... I’m just glad... that no one else got hurt... or had to go through this.”

Sitting down cross legged, she was about to ask him what was up before she felt him snake his arms around her and pull her back against him. A small nose of protest escaped the shorter as she tried to wiggle free but of course, considering he practically enveloped her it was a losing battle unless she played dirty. She was trying to rack her brain for why he was acting like this but she kept drawing a blank... unless... his nana actually did pass away. IMPORTANT HEADCANONS TO CONSIDER

CAN THEY USE CHOPSTICKS:   Yeah probably, Mom probably gets take out a lot.

WHAT DO THEY DO WHEN THEY CAN’T SLEEP: Usually stare up at the ceiling until they fall back asleep, or step outside for a bit of fresh air.

WHAT WOULD THEY IMPULSE BUY AT THE GROCERY STORE:  Probably nothing, since they are well aware that they have to be careful and cautious with their money.

WHAT ORDER DO THEY WASH THINGS IN THE SHOWER:   Hair, face, body and legs.

WHAT’S THEIR COFFEE ORDER:   They don’t drink coffee yet but I imagine that they’re a double double kind of person or a savage and drink it straight black.

WHAT SORT OF APPS WOULD THEY HAVE ON THEIR SMARTPHONE:  probably mostly music apps and maybe like one like sensory/tapping game on their phone.

HOW DO THEY ACT AROUND CHILDREN:  Like they don’t care, she generally typically doesn’t show much to others anyways.
