I love what you said about baseball and it being a romantic game cause yeah. YEAH. And there's also something so so special about it from a not so player based view, like, the long summer afternoons and evenings at the ballpark and the generally friendly, electric atmosphere at every game and all the traditions and just the everything about it that you just don't get at other sporting events, imo. Even watching from home, or listening to it on the radio like I kinda love to is just so much more intimate and lovely than other sports. I wish that I could explain it better to folks who haven't felt it themselves, but it feels like so much of our culture these days is so focused on faster paced, immediate gratification sports and just entertainment in general as opposed to the longer haul season that you kind of have to build a relationship with, as well as one with a team to follow, and this rising drama and (usually) excitement for the world series and idk. Baseball is just so personal and I love it but it can be hard to share. Plus, all the math probably doesn't help :/
~Rockies
Hey Rockies!
Exactly! With 162 games, and only 24 players on a roster? It’s like spending 8ish months at school, or when you’re a kid at summer camp. You might only get to know the baseball side of things? But you get to know those players, you cheer for them, celebrate their wins, feel their losses. Each player can and does contribute to the game. Like I might just not watch enough football, but I don’t see defensive ends getting interviewed after games (Again please someone correct me if I’m wrong) You don’t see defensemen in hockey getting interviewed often, but with 162 games? More than likely you’re going to have 5-10 interviews with every single player.
That builds an atmosphere of care and compassion that I don’t see in other sports (again fuck the dodgers because that stadium is DANGEROUS). And I think a lot of that is because of the age of the game. It’s not the oldest game out there, but it’s the oldest in the US (of the big four Lacrosse is actually older as it originated from the Native Americans) and having that tradition that you mentioned is built into the fabric of the game. I’ve been to Busch stadium once in the past 7 years because I don’t live close, but I’ve gone to my local stadium, and they welcome me in with a Cardinals jersey just as much as if I was wearing one of theirs. You make friends at the stadium, no matter who you root for, yeah there might be some joking around, but ultimately, there’s a very real risk that you could be sitting next to that person for 4 hours if it goes into extras. and there’s a bigger chance that for 6 out of the 9 innings nothing is going to happen.
As far as the math goes… I always suggest learn the positions, learn the rules before learning the maths. Get into the minor league system (at least AAA) get to know some oof the upcoming players, because if you know them, you’ll want to see them succeed, and watching them do so is… it’s pretty magical. Lars Nootbaar has a place in my heart because I started paying attention to the minors last 2ish years ago. And I told my mom last year I said “Ma, he’s going to be good, he’ll get called up this year.” And sure enough he did, and now he’s my little Nootsie and I would die for that cinnamon roll.
But if you’re not a huge baseball fan and reading this for some reason. Don’t be afraid of googling something (or reaching out to me) to ask what a stat is. And don’t worry too much about the math. I can look at a batting average and tell you if it’s good or not, but I can’t tell you how to calculate it, and this has been a part of my life forever.

🕹️Max nearly slapped his hand away, staring at him with an indescribable look. Her brow furrowed as she pushed herself up on her own and got to her feet before dusting herself off. Looking to him again, she clicked her tongue as she crossed her arms over her chest.

So I've been seeing a ton of art for Tangled's 10th Anniversary, and it’s been a treat!! I rly didn’t expect to see a lot of commemoration for it outside the fandom either!
I don't have anything to post- but I am feeling nostalgic and wanted to talk abt my own exp with the fandom!  I wasn't an OG fan of the Tangled movie- although it was one of my favs- so I don't have that connection, but the series has meant a lot to me these last 2ish years.
I've touched on it a bit, but I don't think it's exaggerating to say TTS brought me out of a pretty major creative funk. I just watched it at the right time.
I got into the series shortly after S1 finished airing, when I saw clips of the songs on YT (I think RaIEB and “Wind in My Hair”). I was curious enough to check it out- and then I binged the rest in short order. (I have a v fond memory of watching SotSD on my phone in bed, at a terrible hour of the night, when I had a final the next day. Completely worth it tbh.)
Since then I:
Started a new account- originally just so I'd have a place to post the little doodle of Var I did after finishing the first season.
Posted a lot more art, and got comfy with drawing fanart again! I started focusing on making art just for me, which imo is and continues to be the most important thing.
And I really got involved in a fandom for the first time! Like I'd watched and been a fan of many other shows but I wasn't... IN them, y'know?
I met some very cool people, and made some new friends!!
I streamed the latter half of season 3 for a few hundred viewers! That was honestly prob the highlight of the fandom exp for me; not smth I ever thought would be my gig, but getting to watch eps with everyone right when they dropped, and the excitement before specials and hyped speculation and reaction posting after, was rad and super memorable.
Participated in events, hosted some of my own, and joined my first zine for the show! The sense of community, friendliness, and coziness that comes w/ it being a smaller fandom has been lovely. I know I don't know everyone but it kinda feels like I do w/ so many familiar faces, if that makes sense.
Anyway, I def have a lot to thank Tangled + TTS for. I could keep rambling, but tl;dr, I feel like TTS was pretty defining for me as an artist. It’s become a huge comfortshow, and the characters, world and lore, visuals, style, and songs continue to inspire me.
And of course, a big thank you to everyone who’s followed either of my blogs, or liked, replied to, or reblogged my posts and art! It means a lot. And a ty to all the content creators out there whose work I’ve been enjoying all this time! Here’s to more art and creativity!

Been thinking about the timeline... I know oKAY I KNOW... but listen isn’t it possible it has been three years? Maybe each season is 6 months long. In that case, Patrick comes into the picture about 1 year and 3 months into it. So that would almost make David/Patrick comments about “2 years” kinda make sense because by season 6 they’d have been together like a year and a half plus so maybe they’re rounding? Okay okay I know I’m wrong but I just want to to make sense!!!
honestly, running with about 6 months per season does probably work the best in a very general sense. but ultimately there are some things that support that and some that don’t, which is pretty much true of every way you try to look at the timeline.
i’m pretty sure we can at least accept that the first two seasons take place over about a year. (a year ago we had a staff of 25… / ronnie says you’ve only lived here a year / are you complaining about the quality of the free lodging i’ve arranged for you this past year? / this is the first real money we’ve seen in a year.) there’s not a whole lot within those two seasons to contradict that, so we can run with that.
johnny says in murder mystery it’s been 3 years since he played a round of golf, but okay, maybe he hadn’t played in a while even before they lost their money. i’ll let that one slide.
another point in your favor is ronnie telling moira in stop saying lice! that she still has 3 ½ more years on council. it’s been about a season since she was elected to her 4 year term then, so that pans out.
but then moira says in dead guy in room 4 that she’s endured a cornucopia of trauma the last few years, which……. is definitely a stretch if we’re looking at about a year and a half there.
david says in girls’ night that it’s been a year since ted and alexis split, which works in your favor as well.
but then just 8 episodes later, ted tells alexis he’s thought about kissing her every day for the last two years. maybe he’s rounding up, but i definitely don’t like it lol.
in that same vein, joan says in sebastien raine that she’s been trying to set ted up with her granddaughter for 2 years, but it’s pointless because she’s not alexis, which implies that ted and alexis have been split for 2 years at that point. however, their split had happened not quite 2 seasons ago by that episode, which should only be a year if we’re running with the season = 6 months theory. maybe she was trying to set him up with her granddaughter starting before alexis came along, but that’s not really the implication of this line.
in mcjr, johnny says this is their third christmas in sc. IF they originally moved to sc right before christmas, it can conceivably be about two years at this point. however, nothing about any of the first few episodes of the show is conceivably wintery, so this one really takes some suspension of disbelief on that front. (nevermind the fact that none of the other episodes from what would presumably be their second christmas there around the end of s2/start of s3 mention anything at all about winter, christmas, hanukkah, etc either. it is truly eternally summer in sc, which adds to how fake time feels at any given point lol.)
over the course of s4, jocelyn has a baby, so presumably s4 is prob a bit longer than 6 months. david and patrick’s 4 month anniversary happens right at the halfway point, so let’s say maybe the season is closer to 8 months long, which is plausible. that’s not terribly far off of 6 months, but just something to keep in mind.
roland jr is then implied to be 8 months old as of love letters, which means that 8 months have passed between then and singles week.
in that case we’re looking at 8 months for s4 (minus mcjr), 8 months between seasons (including mcjr), and let’s go back to 6 months again for s5. so by the end of s5 we’re conceivably at 3 years and 4 months in sc.
johnny partners with stevie on the motel in new car, and in the hospies he says it’s been a couple of years’ work. as long as we’re remembering the gap between the season’s there, i think that’s fine. we’re looking at just about two seasons, but plus the extra 8 months between, yeah, that’s 2ish years.
david says in liac that he went to fill out his business license two years ago. that’s about the same time frame as the previous johnny/stevie point, so i’ll allow it.
s6 goes and makes everything a little weird because somehow the first 6 episodes supposedly take place over the course of a month since it’s all before alexis’s flight is supposed to leave. that’s a weird shift from the other seasons, but if it’s not terribly long after that johnny says they’ve been staying in the motel for the last 3 years, he’s not that far off. we’d be at 3 years, 5 months or so by the middle of s6, so presumably it’s at least not quite 4 years yet by the time johnny says it, so i’ll give it to him.
those are the really broad strokes of the timeline. as you can see, there are a few things that we have to kind of sweep under the rug–which is the way the timeline always works–but some of them are at least more vague as markers anyway, so if you want to run with the 6 month theory, as long as you extend s4 by a couple months, it probably does work the best out of any fixed-length per season option.
however, it’s really when you get down into some of the details that things start to give you a headache. for instance, i wrote a whole entire primer on s4′s issues with david’s brithday and jocelyn’s pregnancy here, so feel free to dive into that if you’d like to pull your own hair out lol. those are really the kinds of things we’re talking about when we joke about the timeline being a disaster.
ALSO something else i didn’t get into in that post is that rachel says in the barbecue that she’s trying to win her fiance back 6 months later. david and patrick have been dating for 4 months at that point. so in the 2 months before that, patrick apparently left his fiance, moved to a new town, started a new job, met the love of his life, decided to invest in his new business, applied for grants (and received them), helped get everything ready for the soft launch, and finally once their store is up and running asked his business partner out on a date. i’m not saying it’s impossible for that to have happened over 2 months–well no actually i am saying it’s impossible, lolol. the grants alone would take at least that long lmao. even if we’re running with the 6 months per season, that’s about half a season or 3 months, and that’s still awfully quick for alla that to happen. yeah yeah, suspension of disbelief, yadda yadda yadda, but i’m just saying there are a lot of spots that we have to kind of wave our hands at to make whichever timeline of your choice work.
also there’s the june 22 open mic poster in the bathroom at the apothecary, which adds a whole other conundrum because if it’s for the original open mic, which has to take place between david’s birthday and their 4 month anniversary, that only really works if david’s birthday is in april or so, which does not at all work with alexis graduating on his birthday or any of the numbers he gives. and if it’s for another upcoming open mic night, that means it has to be sometime before june 22 in roadkill when we see the poster, which is about 2/3 of the way into the season, making the start of the season february-ish? but that doesn’t even come close to working with an 8 month time jump between mcjr and love letters. in that case love letters has to take place in june, but then randomly 2/3 of a season later there’s a june event poster in their [recently redesigned] bathroom??? that seems to imply that maybe it really is a poster for the original open mic night, but as i just said, there are issues with making that theory work as well.
(and that’s just the actual time in sc timeline. i didn’t even touch on moira’s career timeline or how long she and johnny have been married, where over the course of just s5 and s6, we’ve gotten we’re still here 35 years later / after an award-worthy trilogy of decades together / your father and i have produced beautiful wine together for over forty years.)
so again, yes, i think in broad strokes you can kinda run with each season being about 6 months or so if that’s what you want to go with, but there are certainly things you have to ignore to make that work.
and that’s just how the timeline is.

this took 4 hours omg...
I had this idea and I need to write it down before I forget. I don't know if it would be considered headcanon or oneshot or what. It’s kinda both because I have very clear Ideas of how some parts should go compared to others. (FYI My idea of timeline and events and such only extends to the end of season 3 girl ain't got no time to read the manga so forgive me if anything I say contradicts anything that may have happened in the manga, it is a headcanon thing after all.)
Let me know if you want me to continue. I ran out of time to get all my ideas down. If you do want a part 2 let me know so I can tag you.
If anyone would like to write this concept into like a legit fic, just give me a heads up and tag me! I would love that! Anyways let’s jUmp into it...
A villain Deku plot inspired by this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C63DkrIvMIQ
I love the villain Deku au thing that is pretty popular but obviously its like never going to happen because the kids said himself He’s going to become the number one hero so these sloppy messy visons raced to my mind when I started thinking about ways to work villain Deku into the Canon plot as such.
This takes place probably 2nd semester of year 2 at UA or 1st semester of year 3. Class1-A stays the same for simplification
During a LoV attack or something, Deku had to fight an enemy with a psychologically crazy quirk. Because he has his license, he was allowed to fight, but even for this boy with brilliant plot armor wasn’t able to overcome this enemy.
This villain was recruited from Eastern Europe specifically to use their quirk against Deku. Shigaraki had been trying his darn best to get his dry hands on all might’s successor per All for One’s will. He thought that instead of destroying deku, it would be more painful to Toshinori if Deku also became a villain using the same logic that his master’s grandson is All for One’s successor. It would absolutely destroy All Might if Deku were to fall to darkness not only as his master but as friends or dare I say as a father-son bond that has grown in the past 2ish years. This villain’s quirk has the ability to take somebody’s mindset/philosophy/outlook on the world and completely do a 180 and brainwashing them into a different person entirely. Since this person was requested to be in Japan solely for this single job, with no other motive, they were uneasy about ruining a lil sweet boi’s life, but the reward for Bringing Deku back to HQ was a hefty one. The LoV realized that if they were going to get Izuku to join them as a villain they were going to need someone with OP brainwashing abilities. Stronger than Shinsou’s quirk. The last time they tried to recruit a student for the LoV it backfired completely even though he was the fiestiest boi they ever did saw. They couldn’t be too cautious this time around.
All of Deku’s class (2-A? 3-A?) had been sleeping except for our Significant Secondary Reoccuring Characters (Bakugou, Todoroki, Iiyda, Ochaco, Tsu and let’s go with Aoyama Kirishima and Momo just because I love them.( Okay so it’s a good portion of the class)) who had snuck out into the town because they overheard from the UA faculty about suspicion of an attack and they got curious. Deku got separated from them in the chaos and that when the villain showed up to take him.
When Deku went in for a Full Cowling kick at 10000% or whatever, the villain grabs Deku’s head and did the deed. Out of shock, the villain’s victims often faint. Since this villain was smart, they didn’t draw out the fight and took off with his target before reinforcements were able to show up in time, as they had been notified of Deku’s location before he went in for the first attack.
It was already dark outside when the LoV attacked the city. They attacked in as many different places as possible to thin out the heroes in the area to make sure that no one came to Deku’s rescue. It’s because of this that nobody realizes Deku is missing until late at night when roll call is taken in the dorms as a safety measure after an attack. Now it was really late and the squad just barely made it back in time though because Aizawa isn’t stupid (yes they still have him as a teacher leave mE ALONE) he noticed that they were wearing street clothes and very easily got the truth about where they were out of good two shoes Yaomomo. She takes full responsibility for the group’s actions as well as for losing Midoriya even though it literally isn't her fault is was Bakugou’s idea to sneak out. She thinks that she should’ve stopped them but she went along instead (kinda how it went with the Bakuretrieval in season 2 but that’s not important).
Aizawa is a sensible person and sends everyone to bed after counting for everyone except deku with the promise of punishment being dealt in the morning.
Search parties were sent out and were active all night looking for the missing prodigious UA Student. Little did anyone know that he was long gone and in an abandoned warehouse a few districts away. Kurogiri had taken them away as soon as they could. Once Deku was secured in headquarters, the LoV retreated.
After 12 hours the search parties still haven’t found him by the next afternoon, the report of the incident made national news.
I don’t even want to think about how Izuku’s mother felt. Feel free to do that yourself.
The mood in the dorm was somber all that Saturday, Sunday, and then Monday. It turned to a week and the cast had grown incredibly agitated. The squad that went out with him especially. The guilt fell heavily on Momo and Iida. Bakugou and Todoroki, both of which are usually distant from other people became especially shut-in because they feel as though they don’t deserve Midoriya’s respect after letting him get caught. Kirishima is an absolute angel and has been trying to pry his way at Bakugou to get him to talk and cheer him up but Bakugou’s dejection only eats away at Kirishima. Idk about you but I am a die-hard izuocha shipper myself. Ochaco is just completely tORN UP she looks like she could cry at any moment. And she keeps beating herself up over. She hates that she could let someone she cares about so much be taken away under such devastating circumstances.
Aoyama-stan Incoming warning: This poor boy. Of what I have seen from the Manga, I know that Deku is basically Aoyama’s closest friend? Maybe? if interpreted various spoilers correctly? Well anyways, in this story, Deku is basically Aoyama’s closest friend and he is probably dealing with it just as badly as Bakugou or Ochaco. He didn’t leave his room all weekend and nobody had the courage to get him out for class on Monday. Iida the most courageous of everyone during this scary moment (most likely because he wants to be strong as class president regardless if he also lost one of his dearest friends) spoke to Aizawa and he said he would allow for Yuga to miss one day of class only if he would be completely ready to return to optimal performance on Tuesday. Aoyama agreed to these terms by speaking to the class president through the door as he wasn't looking tres magnifique at the moment. Though this agreement didn’t mean anything as nobody was operating at optimal performance. The usual energy of the classroom practically never existed. Everyone solemnly remained silent and took poor notes in class, during their hero class, nobody was training as well as they should be. It was so bad that on Thursday Aizawa became fed up. He raised his voice and said that losing teammates is an occupational hazard.
“I know you’re still just kids and most of you have never experienced a great loss, but if you don’t think you could handle these types of situations, you may want to rethink your career path.” Everyone remained silent until a moment had passed.
Bakugou of all people sprung out of his seat and yelled in response, “So what? I don’t care that stupid Deku got himself kidnapped. What I do care about is the fact that every damn faculty member is treating this situation as if he DIED. He’s not dead! He can’t be!” He starts crying. “If let himself die like this… I’ll kill him!” Everyone is the class is dead silent. An instructor from another class can be heard from down the hall. “I’m sick of waiting here.” Katsuki cries, “We have to find him! We need to go looking for him.”
Aizawa assures him that he knows that Deku isn’t dead and that the search for him is still proceeding but Bakugo isn’t having any of it. “You don’t understand,” he mutters. “You have nO IDEA WHAT IT’S LIKE! Being taken by the League is the most terrifying thing that’s ever happened to me.” He begins trembling, “I acted all tough, but in reality I was weak.” His tears fall faster as he remembers of how he felt when he believed that he ended All Might’s career. “Don’t you get it, sir? I have to at least try to save him. He would do the same for anyone of us! Hell, he HAS done it!”
Kirishima stands up from his desk and bows, “Mr. Aizawa, I would like to help Bakugou in searching for Midoriya. He’s grown so much since he first joined this school. He is one of the strongest among us. I also can’t help but watch as his talent and his courage slip away from us!”
“I want to help too!” Ochaco exclaims springing from her desk.
Momo follows suit, “I would as well.”
Soon enough, practically everyone is out of their seats begging to help, all except an expressionless Todoroki and a visibly ill Aoyama.
“Enough!” Aizawa shouts above the pleas, “Nobody will be leaving this campus for ANY reason until the status of Midoriya has been confirmed!” His head was held down while he was yelling, his scarf hanging covering his eyes. “I swear,” he cracks I swear if anyone of you so much as thinks of starting your own little search party, I will see to it that you are expelled immediately.” The tension in the air could be cut with a knife. “I swear on my honor as a pro-hero that you will.”
“But Sir-!”
“Not a single word, Aoyama.”
“Y-yes sir…” The broken best boy sits back down in his seat after finally building up the courage to say something.
The mood of the bunch hadn’t changed if anything It had gotten worse.
Nobody could’ve predicted what Deku had been doing all this week. He was working closely with Shigaraki to create a plan to attack UA and truly put an end to All Might. Now that he has been powerless for well over a year, and that the LoV had a trump card, completing this mission should be a piece of cake, right?
Well, precisely one week after the initial attack on the city the LoV’s plan was set into motion…

Wynonna Earp anon back-I also don’t know anyone who watches so I’m coming back with a long reply 😜
I didn’t know about the creator saying how they cut a lot due to no season 5 so some of the rush feeling does make sense now. I will say as much as loved some of the eps this season they could have used them for those stories instead of just somewhat filler episodes. Such as the Halloween ep, don’t get me wrong LOVED it, when wynonna and waverly thought they were the other one was great. But that ep didn’t really do anything with the Clayton/garden. Felt like first few eps this season were regular ep then second half of the season is when they wrapped it all up. Not sure why they did that cause they had to know season 5 wasn’t likely since season 4 almost didn’t happen. All that being said I did love the season. And you mentioned bobo- he was one of the best characters in the series! The bobo, revanents, blushar story I think season 2ish was so great! And to your point about ghost river triangle size very true we don’t know the size and could def be something to use as a spin off with wayhuaght if they ever wanted to. Jeremy- yea memories magically back would have been to cheesy, I was expecting at least a Robin mention and that serum Jeremy says he was putting in his coffee or something. Was just surprised he wasn’t mentioned at all. The cursing- I love a well placed fuck in dialogue but I don’t remember them cursing much in previous season then suddenly this year was fuck every week and the finale was a lot so it just seemed out of place to me and inconsistent with previous. Also I missed the Emily cameo I’ll have to go back to check. But overall such a fun great show! And very underrated. The fact we both don’t know anyone else who watches it shows how underrated it is. What other “nerdy” thing are you a fan of?
Hello again! Well, having joined the fandom so late, I watched a lot of panels and a lot of the things the fandom asked for there were some of the things included on the episodes, like the trivia, the falling in love with a different character... So I think they just did those episodes for the fans. But I kinda agree with you that they could have used them for something more.
I’ll admit that at the beginning I wasn’t a big fan of Bobo, but that changed quickly. It was such an important and interesting character, in fact, one of my favorite scenes was in season two episode eight when Wynonna and him are dying in the church. The second season as a whole was amazing.
Actually, I’m watching the show again and Waverly says that the GRT “contains thousands of square miles of forests, foothills, prairie, the Badlands”, so it’s pretty big. And there is also a big city, so I don’t think they will get bored of the territory.
About the cursing, well the whole tone of the show changed in this season. There were a lot more “adult” stuff, like sex scenes, and I might be wrong, but I think they changed the ratings for season 4 (?).
Emily’s cameo was an easy one to miss. She was the one that called Jeremy to ask him to work for BBD again.
I’m a fan of everything, really. Obviously, football, mythology (mostly greek) and basically that culture (I studied greek and latin in high school so not only I Iearnt a lot about that but also those languages), history, music (I’m a musician, trained classical musician), books: Percy Jackson (this is what got me into mythology), Harry Potter and a lot of other books; films and TV... The thing is that I’m a very curious person, so if I discover something new, I have to know everything about that. The same as with Wynonna, I’m the only one who likes these things (not the case with music), so I never talk about that, so it’s very nice to at least talk, post or read about football here.

GET SERIOUS: Top 50 - 2019
IT'S not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
Marcus Bontempelli stands tall, not just literally but too comparatively against all peers, all of the more fancied usually bandied around when ‘game’s best player’ conversations are had.
It’s a who’s who of the game’s best mids in the top ten, with a couple potato gems from opposite ends of the field in there too.
The Get Serious top ten:
10.        Elliot Yeo (West Coast)
9.          Tom Stewart (Geelong)
8.          Stephen Coniglio (GWS)
7.          Jordan De Goey (Collingwood)
6.          Luke Shuey (West Coast)
5.          Patrick Dangerfield (Geelong)
4.          Dustin Martin (Richmond)
3.          Patrick Cripps (Carlton)
2.          Nat Fyfe (Fremantle)
1.          Marcus Bontempelli (Western Bulldogs)
Yeo is a freak. Strong, agile, quick, incredibly skilled. Vital to the Eagles’ success he dominates the centre square but too can kill it all over the field. Superstar.
Now Tommy Stewart is only a couple years plucked out of local footy but wow, what an impact. The best backman of any sort in the league by some way, his intercept and rebound abilities alongside defensive smarts make him seriously that good. Coniglio is the definition of a premier onballer. A jet. Moves well, finds the pill and just kills it when he gets it.
Jordy is a freak. Onball he is a bull that can dominate the centre square. Up forward though, be it playing tall like a poor man’s Ablett Senior or on the ground like a, well, Ablett Senior, he is as close to unstoppable since prime-years Buddy.
This man won a Norm Smith on a day he didn’t have a tonne of midfield mates and the opposition midfield was stacked. Shuey is supremely underrated, maybe as he plies his trade on the west coast, but is impossible to tag, has enormous influence on the game from the guts and is the quintessential match-winner.
Danger and Dusty we know. Both capable of running the show themselves. Still got it, still elite, still easy top five guns.
Crippa is beast and is easy top three. Has more influence on games now than Dangerfield and Martin, remembering he plays for lowly Carlton, those two have played in perennial finals sides. Going to dominate for some time.
Cripps is very good, Fyfe is just a bit better. Can do a little more outside and totally takes over games like few others ever. Won one Brownlow already, could seriously poll enough again this year. Megastar.
And the Bont. A couple weeks back, we said, in comparing him to Cripps and Fyfe, that he does what both those kids do well in the trenches but he is that little better because moves around like a 6″3 wingman with vision like 2010 Scott Pendlebury to boot. Also is one of the best kicks in the comp. The most complete player in it. The best.
                                    ---------------------------
A good big bloke always defeats a good little bloke, they say.
Before we nail out the top ten players in the league, a few of the league’s best taller types make the top 20.
Let’s get this done with.
20.          Josh Kennedy (West Coast)
19.          Harris Andrews (Brisbane)
18.          Steele Sidebottom (Collingwood)
17.          Ben Cunnington (North Melbourne)
16.          Max Gawn (Melbourne)
15.          Lachie Whitfield (GWS)
14.          James Sicily (Hawthorn)
13.          Tim Kelly (Geelong)
12.          Brodie Grundy (Collingwood)
11.          Josh Kelly (GWS)
So I lied. Daniher could be the best tall forward in the league, might be, but in reality its Kennedy. In the right year nudging 80 goals again isn’t out of the question and no-one else can could come close. Great mark, great converter, just a huge big-game player. Meanwhile, Andrews is now the premier fullback in the league. Might not know being hidden up in Queensland but seriously, he is never beaten anymore. Looks like Dustin Fletcher in his hey day. Very good.
This bloke came second last year in the Brownlow, which was overs but not the biggest surprise. Sidebottom is as clever and skillful an onballer/wingman you’ll find. Had an amazing 2018 and this year and is a genuine match-winner.
Cunnington is a bull. Good old country boy who doesn’t say much, but gee, in tight, is there any better? Not flashy but very few win as much ball in close and tackle as hard. Jet. And as for big Maxy, in any other year he is the premier big man, dominates the ruck like few we’ve seen in our lifetime and is an elite contested mark too.
Whitfield is stiff to not make top ten. So, so good off halfback, one of the best kicks in the game if not the best, quick, agile and a great decision maker. Utterly awesome. Speaking of half back, Sicily is almost as good a kick, almost as quick, but at 6″2ish and with elite marking skills to boot, he is as valuable a player in this league.
The Brownlow favourite can’t make top ten. Tim Kelly just wins it and is always productive. Sure, only a couple years in to his AFL career but looks like a 200-game superstar capable of a Brownlow, or a Norm Smith more to the point. Electric. And as for Grundy, whilst a ruckman is always up against to take home Charlie the big Pie could do it. Enormous at a stoppage, be it hitouts or clearances, but picks up 20+ and marks as good as any. Immense.
Josh Kelly could be the game’s best midfielder. He isn’t but damn he is close. Beautiful mover, is as good inside as outside, and when he plays well, picks up 30, the Giants win. Going to have one of the great careers, no wonder North threw everything at him...
                                     ---------------------------
Getting serious.
Less chat, more suspect placings in the guts of this Top 50 please.
Without further ado.
30.          Trent Cotchin (Richmond)
29.          Jeremy Cameron (GWS)
28.          Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood)
27.          Joe Daniher (Essendon)
26.          Toby Greene (GWS)
25.          Jackson Macrae (Western Bulldogs)
24.          Michael Hurley (Essendon)
23.          Robbie Gray (Port Adelaide)
22.          Jeremy McGovern (West Coast)
21.          Lachie Neale (Brisbane)
Cotchin is a gun I used to underrate, but seriously, that goal alone in the Geelong Qualifying Final in 2007 alone signifies how good he is - won’t look as nice on a wing or in delivering a lace out pass but for serious guts in a final, unparalleled. And effective too. Cameron still has it, leading the Coleman, enough said. And Pendles, even though not quite at his Norm Smith-winning best, hasn’t lost a stride and is still going to amass another 15+ Brownlow votes this year.
Daniher when fit is the most dangerous key forward in the game. Period. Don’t agree, go watch Anzac Day this year again. Better than any other tall forward, promise you. Greene might be the best small forward inside 50. Can mark, crumb, kick a set shot, kick a miracle snap, tackle, seriously he rates highly for everything a small to medium forward should do. Awesome.
Macrae has become a dead set gun. Beautiful kick, great runner, excellent decision maker. Massively under appreciated. Hurley, as important to Essendon as anyone an has a mortgage on a key back post in the All-Australian team as long as he is fit. And awesome with the ball in hand too, to boot.
Robbie Gray is a jet people east of Tailem Bend might not get. As crafty and mecurial as you’ll find, awesome at winning 30 in the guts or if full-time forward can seriously kick a bag despite being under 6″. A superstar, no-one has been better in Showdowns ever, compared to him.
McGovern is the premier centre-half back in the comp. And where intercept marks are king, he is that good he is invaluable a commodity you’ll find. And Neale could pinch the Brownlow this year showing he was pretty good playing second fiddle to Fyfe in Freo last year, winning their last two B&F’s too just quietly - can seriously play.
                                      ---------------------------
You thought the first ten were contentious, got nothing on these.
How we could have the reigning Brownlow medalist so low? We know better than the umpires and most of the football media?
Yes, in fact, we do. This is the rolled gold list, remember?
So, 31-40, enjoy:
 40.          Angus Brayshaw (Melbourne)
39.          Tom Mitchell (Hawthorn)
38.          Rory Laird (Adelaide)
37.          Shaun Higgins (North Melbourne)
36.          Dayne Beams (Collingwood)
35.          Shannon Hurn (West Coast)
34.          Clayton Oliver (Melbourne)
33.          Brad Sheppard (West Coast)
32.          Michael Walters (Fremantle)
31.          Eddie Betts (Adelaide)
Brayshaw had a very underrated year last year, except by the umpires. He wasn’t a genuine Brownlow top three, but top 40 players in the comp, sure. Very likely type. Mitchell isn’t higher because if he was as good as doing something with the ball as often as he found it, Hawthorn wouldn’t lose a game. Sorry.
Laird is probably the best back pocket in the game after number 33. Beats his man but as good out of the backline as any in the comp. The recruit of Higgins to North has been a massive tick, at times last year a genuine Brownlow-worthy season, when he is on as good a midfielder in the comp.
Beamsy, well, almost had him out , but then I reconsidered his 2018 season at the Gabba, it was elite. Goal-kicking midfielders as good as him, could argue 36 is too low. Still a jet when fit.
Bunga Hurn is a gem, one of the most dependable defenders in the game, but for his kick and thighs alone, plus his leadership too, a star. Love him. Clarry is very good, having a lean year but who isn’t down at the Dees, but could be higher if we’d done this nine months ago, big, tough, clean, isn’t that far off Cripps but it’s a tight list.
Brad Sheppard is the best back pocket in the game. Period. And whilst there’s mids and forwards all over this list, and sure, they won the flag without him last year, don’t underestimate this guys skill in the Eagles winning a lot of games.
Walters is perhaps lucky to be in the 50, but I’ve seen enough this year to get him this high. As crafty a forward pocket as there is, like legit, mecurial stuff. And has poked his head into the guts too and looked good. Very valuable.
And we can’t have this list without Eddie. Still got it. Still brings the house down. The most loved bloke in the game and I kinda wish he was higher. A magician.
...Next week, we add 21-30 where we have the two best key forwards, and the two best key backs in the game, as well as a Brownlow medalist and Norm Smith medalist.
                                         ---------------------------
The moon landing. Cathy Freeman’s gold medal at Sydney. The night the Socceroos qualified for the 2006 World Cup.
All historic, landmark moments where you remember where you were and who you were with.
Today will be another of those days, as this pokey little column launches its inaugural Top 50 for the 2019 season.
This is as simple as it gets: its my top 50 players as it stands right here and now. A few on this list have only played a couple games this year, two haven’t played any, but it doesn’t matter, don’t over think it or make it too scientific – these are just subjectively the best 50 Australian Rules footballers we have in 2019.
That’s it.
So without further ado, we kick off with 41-50, leading up to revealing the top ten in a few weeks time.
 50.          Jack Riewoldt (Richmond)
49.          Dylan Roberton (St Kilda
48.          Robbie Tarrant (North Melbourne)
47.          Matt Crouch (Adelaide)
46.          Isaac Heeney (Sydney)
45.          Nick Vlaustin (Richmond)
44.          Gary Ablett Jnr (Geelong)
43.          Shane Edwards (Richmond)
42.           Nic Naitanui (West Coast)
41.          Lance Franklin (Sydney)
So Jack sneaks in as our number 50, we have missed seeing him the last two months but still a genuine gun forward despite not being typical key position size. A great career. Don’t forget how good Roberton has been for St Kilda the last few years, immense defender and we hope he can get back to good footy soon. Ask any Saints fan how important he has been the last two years especially.
Tarrant’s top three for key backs in the league for mine, rarely beaten and deserves AA considerations this year, very underrated. As is Matt Crouch, just finds the ball, a less glamourous Dane Swan in some regard, very good footballer we don’t know enough about this side of Bordertown
Heeney is a jet, probably the most valuable player on Sydney’s list and can do exciting things at any position really. Vlaustin I think is Richmond’s most important backman, the taller guys work off one another, are somewhat codependent, but Vlaustin is the glue. Little Gaz has been great as a forward, obviously was perennial top ten if this list was done prior but has now forged a great little niche on a flank in 2019.
Shane Edwards was a flighty half-forward flanker but now a genuine class midfielder. Think Port Adelaide-era Shaun Burgoyne sorta. Really like him. Nic Nat is still a freak who despite the ruckman position being overrated, he certainly is not.
Big Budweiser, gee, like Ablett would have dominated the top ten of such a list for years, but now, whilst he still has that magic, not only is it rare given his ability to stay fit but old father time is limiting his impact when he is fit.
...Next week, we add 31-40, where we have a Brownlow medalist, three more defenders and the game’s most adored individual.

Hi! I've been considering getting a betta fish but having done some research it seems like it's pretty exacting care (and also explains why my childhood fish didn't do so well). I don't wanna end up getting a little fish friend and having them die from me messing something up. I was wondering what you do for your fish and other aquatics since people recommend different things, from tank size to water changes. Thanks and i hope you have a good night!
Sure I can give you some general advice. I know tumblr can make it sound pretty intimidating, but betta care really isnt to hard. Most of it comes down to learning about how not to poison it with its own poop :V (to comically oversimplify science lol)
First, look up nitrogen cycle, theres a million resources and it would take forever for me to write out something that has already been written better. That will explain how to keep fish poop from killing you fish. This also explains why a filter is required for a tank. BUT then I would also suggest this video (and that channel in general. Very informative.)
youtube
Minimum 2.5 gallon tank, because any smaller and it becomes crazy hard to manage the toxin buildup from poop. Also less area for oxygen exchange meaning they cant breath in the water. Now bettas are special and can breath surface air, but its super stressful for that to be the only way for them to breath.
Also any smaller then 2.5 and theres pretty much no space for a betta to swim and they can become so bored/depressed that they start destroying their own fins. Ripped fins and toxic water leads to infection. So 2.5 is bare minimum, but bigger is always better. 5 gallon is honestly still a great ‘desk’ size but gives lots of room for you betta. Cause I understand, alot of places (like dorms) wont let you get anything bigger
As for how often to change water...well that will depend. It will depend on if you have live plants (and what the plant is) and the size of your tank. Bigger tanks take longer for bad stuff to build up, so you have to change it less. Small tanks parameters can swing quickly, so usually more often, especially with a new tank.  (also dont forget to use dechlorinator. most tap water has chlorine added in by the city. It will burn their gills and kill them if you forget) Now a ‘seasoned’ well established, and planted tank can go much longer. in fact you might not ‘need’ to except for aesthetic reasons. For example, my betta tank has gone oh maybe 2ish months without a water change and only top offs for evaporation. But I have pennywort in the tank, which sucks up toxins like crazy and keeps the water perfect. But if something happened and that plant died, I would have to start changing water frequently.  Other great nutrient hogs are anacharis and hornwort. ive also heard wisteria, but i havent personally used it
Balance and remembering to test your water quality frequently. If a tank with a fish in it ever has a reading  of ammonia of anything above zero, you change that water right then.
Temp for a betta is 75-80. So you’ll need a heater in most cases, unless you happen to live in a tropical region and dont use AC. Dont forget a thermometer, because the built in ones on heaters can fail, and you wouldnt know until its to late for your poor fish.
Food: a small floating pellet. I feed 4 in the morning and 4 at night. Though this can vary depending on the size of the brand of pellet. Try and get one that doesnt have wheat as the first ingredient. Bettas are carnivores and it does nothing for them and cause cause intestinal blockages. (trust me, I just recently lost a fish to a blockage caused by cheap food... save yourself the heartbreak and buy the nicer foods.) And bloodworms are a great treat to give too. Heres a good video for telling crap food from good food
youtube
And then I personally like to keep live plants. Bettas are super cute and will sleep and rest on big leaves, and as explained in that video, they are really good for your tank.
I hope this gives a good overview. I know I was kinda all over lol
Anyone else is free to politely correct anything i might have gotten wrong, or add things i forgot. im sleepy and im sure i forgot something >>

Alona Beach Okay, picking up where we left off last time, I had been posting but I realized none of them went through so here is a mega post. We've been in Alona Beach for 4 days, here is what has happened Day 1 -Much to our shock and amazement we were woken up at 6am to find a police officer and our cab driver from the previous night at our door, and lo and behold the cab driver had my phone and returned it! He apologized for not having 'reported it'? I have noooo idea what transpired there or why a cop was there but I was just beyond shocked that the phone had made its way back to us. Faith in humanity restored. -So this place is a little confusing. We are staying in the "town" and I say that very loosely of Alona Beach, which is on the teeny tiny island of Panglao. This island is connected via bridge to the slightly larger island of Bohol, whose city is Tagbilaran. We had to get to Tagbilaran to go to the visa place so we got on the back of a motorbike (me, Emily, and the driver on one bike) to take us there. It started completely POURING down rain while we were going and it was a crazy ride to say the least. -We spent the morning in the town of Tagbilaran figuring out our visa extension, and we got it all done in about an hour. It did not take THREE DAYS like the office in Cebu City had told us. After that we went to the mall and then back to Alona Beach where we spent the afternoon on the beach watching the sunset, we had dinner along the beach after that. Day 2 -The next day we spent all day at the beach. It was a lot sunnier than the day before and the water was crystal clear it was amazing, I've never seen water that clear before. We saw lots of giant starfish. We also got badly sunburned, even though we were in the shade most of the time. Oh well. We had dinner at an Italian Asian fusion restaurant which was interesting. Day 3 - On this day we initially were going to rent a motorbike for the day to drive around Bohol but then it quickly became clear that we did not know how to drive one and it wasn't one of those fake it til you make it type things. So instead we hired a tricycle to take us around for the day. Here tricycles are essentially tuk-tuks, a motorbike with a big sidecar attached and a roof and windshield. -We drove first to the Tarsier Sanctuary in the village of Corella. Tarsier are teeny tiny primates that only live on Bohol and they are known for their gigantic eyes and very cute appearance. They kinda look like a bushbaby. There are very few of them left, because unfortunately due to their extremely acute hearing and vision they are horribly sensitive to external stimuli. In the wild they sleep all day and hunt insects at night but tourists now constantly wake them up and make loud noises and flash cameras in their eyes. This causes them enormous distress and it becomes so unbearable for them that they bang their very fragile, thin skulls into walls of the cages people put them in until they die; essentially committing suicide. The sanctuary we visited is the only place which tries to conserve the tarsiers in captivity and keep them from becoming overstimulated but protected from predators. They only have 6 tarsiers there. They live in a fenced off wood without cages where everyone has to be dead silent the entire time and not get too close to them or put stuff if their face. They were very cute animals but gosh I was worried about those poor things. After seeing the tarsiers we rode across Bohol to see the Chocolate Hills. They are called this because in dry season they turn dark brown and are such strange, unnatural looking shapes they look like something out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but they are completely natural and no one really knows how or why they are there. The road was very steep and twisty and it downpoured again and again. We drove through rice paddies and villages and through a "man made forest" (whatever that means?) which looked exactly like a forest in Oregon. When we got to the hills we climbed to the top of one of the hills to look out and it was so surreal looking; it was like we were on another planet. Hundreds of these comically round mounds sticking straight up out of the ground just went on and on. After we made it back to our hotel we got in about 30 minutes of relaxing before the power went out. We had no idea what had happened until the next day because everything was cut off. No internet or lights or AC or anything. Restaurants had to shut down, the only lights were those from motorbikes. We thought it would just last an hour or so but its lasted over two days now. We found out later through a series of alert texts to our thankfully returned Filipino phone that there had been a 6.7 earthquake about 300 miles northwest of here in Northwest Visayas. (Visayas is the collection of over a thousand islands that make up the center of the country, Alona Beach is in South Central Visayas). Anyway it was a big earthquake and the power supply for all of Visayas was located on the island where it happened and so those are shut down until further notice. They apparently got 1 out of 3 of the power supplies back up and are doing rotational brown/blackouts throughout Visayas for the time being (so we get 2ish hours of power, then it goes off for 4 hours, then back on, etc..). Apparently this happens a lot so most buildings have big scary sounding backup generators that sometimes but not always work. So we've been on and off the grid for the past 2 days, it's been a minor inconvenience but fine. We went and got dinner at the dark beach and everyone was still in a pretty good mood. There was candlelight and some places had generators and gas stoves so they could still serve food. We watched a huge lightening storm over the ocean while we ate. It was a nice evening. Day 4: The power was off all last night and it was like 100 degrees in our room, we couldn't open anything to let in air because mosquitoes. We slept on and off. At like 10am we got some breakfast, slept again because the power was back on for a bit, then went to go get lunch. At lunch a cloud of mosquitoes attacked me (I got like 7 bites in about 5 minutes) and I had an allergic reaction to it. Usually when I get bit by mosquitoes I swell up a bit at the site of the bite and it is fairly swollen for a few hours at least and will go away on its own but I think because I got so many at once it was too much and my whole entire foot started swelling up really big and painful and I couldnt fit in my sandals anymore. So we left our lunch half eaten and limped to a pharmacy and bought a single antihistamine pill (apparently they are sold by the pill here?) for 8 cents. We decided to go to the movies to get some AC and escape from the bugs, so not five minutes after getting the antihistamine we hopped on the back of another motorbike to take us to Tagbilaran to the mall. The wind and sitting on the bike and the pill made my foot calm down. We were going so fast my hat blew off! I had assumed it was gone but before I knew it, someone on another motorbike had found it on the road, somehow knew it was mine, caught up to us, honked and then handed it back to us as they drove by waving and smiling. I was so flabbergasted. People really do go out of their way to be so nice here. When we got to town we got stuck in the most insane traffic jam of hundreds of motorbike, tricycles, the occasional cars and some random pedestrians walking down the middle of the road. Literally the craziest traffic of my life including Mexico City. We realized after the fact that we had been dropped at the wrong mall and had to wander around the crazy streets and traffic for two blocks until we found it. It was like that scene in Mulan when the grandmother is crossing the road. There was just absolute chaos in the streets but for pedestrians the rule is to just close your eyes, put your hand up, and go and people will go around you (its crazy traffic but everyone is going at like 3mph) If you hesitate thats actually worse because it clogs up the flow. We got there and fought through five stories of karaoke singers and zumba dancers and shops to get to the movie theater. We got our ticket and watched the new Spiderman movie. After the experience of getting there, an action movie was pretty relaxing honestly. We got back pretty uneventfully and have been in our powerless hotel ever since. We're leaving Alona Beach first thing in the morning. While it has been beautiful here I do think it is time for us to move on. It certainly has been anything but dull. We are going to the biggest Filipino island (there are over 7,100 islands in the Philippines total) tomorrow, Luzon, where we will be for the next 2.5 weeks. It is where Manila is although we aren't going to stay there. We are going to be in the mountains mostly, first going to stay next to a lake/volcano in Tagaytay and then after that at some rice terraces in Bananue. Yesterday while the power was out I was reading my book about the Philippines and just man, this country has been through A LOT. I won't go through it all but it has not caught a break since the 1500's. They were colonized by the Spanish for 350 years and treated brutally by them (kept in essentially medieval serfdom by the monks and forbidden from education), became independent from the Spanish in a violent revolution only to be immediately taken over by the Americans. While the Americans treated the Filipinos better than the Spanish and installed basic infrastructure and schools; they manipulated the Filipinos to their advantage in just about every way they could think of. They granted them independence in the early 20th century, but continued to occupy it. In WWII they were forced by the Americans into conflict with the Japanese and were absolutely crushed. Manila was practically obliterated and the Philippines was forced to surrender to Japan and the Japanese did like death marches and horrible stuff to them. The city of Manila has been compared to Hiroshima and Warsaw as far as level of destruction caused by WWII. Then after that, a brutal dictatorship until 1989-ish. Now the dictatorship has been overthrown but there is a corrupt government, rampant poverty, limited infrastructure and education, and constant economic and political manipulation by the US and China. Not to mention volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and tsunamis. So through all of that the Filipinos have every right to be angry and bitter; but all of that hardship has just made them kind. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met and time and again they have shown that they will go beyond out of their way to take care of us and of each other and make the best of whatever is going on. Like our minor island wide power outage today. Sure businesses shut down and there was no electricity or internet for a couple days but they made it work and took care of each other and didn't let it get them down. It was just a minor inconvenience and people figured it out. Everyone has been happy and singing karaoke and there to lend a helping hand to their neighbors. Because while the government may not have their back, they will always no matter what have each other's backs. Until tomorrow,

Would you post a list of all the podcasts you listen to?
Certainly!
Pre-P.S. This post ended up way longer than originally expected cause I felt the need to talk about them. So sorry for the length.
So I have a sort of system for listening. I used to do a lot of different playlists on my podcatcher, but I’ve narrowed it down to two major playlists and a third other playlist.
First playlist is just called New Stuff and it’s all the stuff that I’ve caught up to the present on and keep up with as new episodes come out. That’s all of these:
Welcome to Night Vale
duh
Alice Isn’t Dead
Fantastic. The combination of Joseph Fink’s words combined with Jasika Nicole’s performance is to die for.
My Brother, My Brother, and Me
My first introduction to the McElroys and hot damn
The Adventure Zone
My first real introduction to D&D and also hot damn
The Black Tapes
This is by Pacific Northwest Stories network. It’s a mystery/supernatural thriller/drama, lots of demony stuff.
Lime Town
Straight up sci-fi mystery. This one has been on hiatus for a while, but the story is really good and compelling.
Internet Box
Trash, but trash I’m attached to. Isn’t really going anymore. It was a bunch of Rooster Teeth people but the podcast isn’t associated with Rooster Teeth. I don’t recommend it for people who would be reading this.
Double Feature
The first podcast I ever listened to. Two dudes who watch two movies every week and then talk about it. Big fans of horror movies and I actually started watching horror movies because of them.
The Thrilling Adventure Hour
One of my favorite bits of entertainment over any medium. It used to update weekly because they used to do live shows monthly and split them into 4 parts, but they don’t any more. Similar to old timey radio shows, they had two segments (Sparks Nevada, Marshall on Mars, a western set on Mars and Beyond Belief, a supernatural detectivey sorta thing if the detectives were two socialites that loved each other and loved to drink) that always happened and then a bunch of other segments they would cycle through. Lots of stuff to listen back through, like 6 years worth maybe? and I recommend this to everyone.
Cool Games Inc
Griffin McElroy and Nick Robinson take suggestions and try to brainstorm video games. Hilarious and I love it.
Sawbones
Justin McElroy and his wife, Syndee. Syndee is a doctor, so they do histories of medical stuff, whether procedures, diseases, notable people, but they make it funny. Can get kinda gross if you gross out easy, but very chill.
‘Til Death Do Us Blart
The McElroys team up with the guys from Worst Idea of All Time and watch Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 every American Thanksgiving and then talk about it and the podcast will go on for eternity. When one of them die, they have named successors to take their place. They only started 2 years ago, so there’s only 2 episodes, but I look forward to listening to this for forever.
Interrobang
Travis McElroy and his friend Tybee Diskin talk about stuff they frustrates them. This is one of my favorite podcasts because they talk about things like social media issues and relationships and LGBTQ issues and just a whole bunch of things. It’s very frank and there’s no judgement going on and they’re both around my age by about +/- 2ish years and it’s helped me figure out what being an adult means to me? and what kind of adult I want to be/am?
The Worst Idea of All Time
Two dudes from New Zealand, Tim and Guy, decided one day they were going to watch Grown Ups 2 every week for a year and then talk about it. They slowly descended into madness over the next year and then when it was over they decided to do it with Sex and the City 2 and then they descended into madness again and then they decided to do it a third time with the movie We Are Your Friends and they are 36 weeks into that and then they’re gonna stop and do other things. Very funny but sometimes you do worry about them. Flagship podcast of The Little Empire Network
Off Topic
This is a Rooster Teeth podcast and a loose spiritual successor to Internet Box, only better cause they’re older and wiser and less ignorantly offensive.
Play Dead
I forget how I found this podcast, but it’s about death in video games and the roles it plays and why. Very interesting, but it can get pretty heavy sometimes.
Quality Control
Justin McElroy, as part of his job as an editor at Polygon, talks to the reviewers who review a video game for Polygon and asks them more stuff about the game. Usually I’m really good about listening to every episode of a podcast, but with this one I only really listen to the episodes about video games I have an interest in.
Beef and Dairy Network Podcast
Um. This one’s tough. Set on an alternate earth. Beef is very big there. Or at least beef is very important to the fictional people who do this podcast. Host talks to people about beef. It sounds very not interesting, but it is really very interesting and it’s very funny in a subdued british way. It can get pretty surreal sometimes.
Strange
Rarely updates. I started listening to it because Jeffrey Cranor was on the first episode telling a story from his life about something Strange that happened to him. It’s mostly a storytelling kind of podcast, but since last april there’s only been 3 episodes.
Tim Talks To
Tim from Worst Idea of All Time talks to people he finds interesting.
Trends Like These
Travis McElroy and his friend Brent Black talk about trending news.
Tanis
Another from Pacific Northwest Stories network. Similar to Black Tapes, only no demony stuff, just weird stuff.
Boners of the Heart
Another from the Little Empire Network. Two ladies from New Zealand talk about their actor crushes, to start out with. That framework is only very loosely adhered to, especially the further in you go, but man are they hilarious. Just the two of them talking is a delight and some of the funniest things I’ve ever heard.
Unexplained
This dude has a very calming voice. He just talks about unexplained things, phenomena, happenings, etc. Usually leaning towards myths, ghost stories, that kinda thing.
Within the Wires
From the Night Vale people. I love this one, and it has a very unique story telling format.
The Bright Sessions
A therapist for people with supernatural abilities. Psychic stuff, that kind of thing. It has a lot of LGBTQ representation that is presented in a way that normalizes it and it’s wonderful.
Archive 81
Season 1 was excellent. Supernatural thrilller style, good use of the medium, story within story framing, very good. Season 2 is... not at all like season 1. It’s almost like a completely different story and it’s unecessarily gory and tortureporny sometimes? Listen to season 1 for sure, but the vote’s still out on s2.
The Deep Vault
Done by the same people who did Archive 81. Also very tortureporny. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. Can be enjoyable.
Ars Paradoxica
Time travel sci-fi. Very sciencey but in an accessable kind of way usually. It has quietly become one of my favorites.
The Moth
Storytelling. The Moth is a radio show on actual radio I guess? They get regular people on stage and then the person tells a story. Very good.
Dead Pilots Society
Done by the people who did Thrilling Adventure Hour. A lot of those people work in TV, and this is table readings of pilot scripts that never made it to TV screens. Hit or miss for me.
Kakos Industries
Kind of like if Night Vale was evil and sexy? The premise is that you’re listening to the shareholder report for an Evil company that does Evil, but there’s also a lot of sex. Sex positive, and doesn’t usually feel super exploitative.
The Infinite Now
Little mini short stories, all sci-fi themed.
The Orbiting Human Circus (of the Air)
On the Night Vale network. Lots of big name people in this one. It’s enjoyable to listen to, and I love the framework they have for it, but I wasn’t as enamored with it and other parts of the internet seemed to be.
The Males Gayz
On the Little Empire network. Two gay dudes from New Zealand talk about gay stuff. Also very funny.
Always Open
Another Rooster Teeth podcast. This one’s really funny and mostly lady dominated. One of my favorites.
The Alton Brown Cast
Alton Brown has a podcast. He talks to people. It’s as interesting as you think it is.
Darkest Night
I forget how I found this one, too. Probably from one of those podcast recommendation lists? It’s recorded with one of those binarual mics, so headphones is strongly suggested for this one. It’s a horror podcast, and a pretty gory one, too. Very intense at times.
Rose Buddies
Griffin McElroy and his wife, Rachel, watch the Bachelor family of products and then talk about them. I’ve never watched the Bachelor or any of those. This is one of my favorite podcasts.
The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel
Young Adult podcast! Made for younger kids, like 8-13 range probably? Young kids do the voice acting as well. This is a high production affair. Sci-fi kind of story, and a good story.
Mystery Show
Surprisingly charming. Real life podcast, like Serial, only Starlee Kine, the narrator/creator, is good at solving small mysteries. Only 6 episodes. A season 2 was planned, but then Starlee was apparenly abruptly fired from whatever company was producing this or something? She said she’s working on s2, but it’s a lot harder now.
Small Town Horror
Another horror/mystery podcast. Oddly distressing at times, but intentionally so.
State of the Realm
Final Fantasy XIV podcast. They just talk about the game.
Jerk City
Audio readings of the comics. Sounds like people call in to a voicemail box and read them. It’s very avant garde.
Silent Key
Another podcast by the Jerk City people. I’m... not really sure what this is? It’s like that thing, modern art elicits an emotion out of you but you don’t know what that emotion is or why? That’s why I still listen to this one.
The Dark Tome
A story podcast. The framing device is pretty good, a book that transports you to the story itself, but this feels like one of those shows that used to be on Saturdays at like 11 to trick you into learning about classic literature. Definitely feels like it should be a TV show rather than a podcast.
Surprisingly Nice
Travis McElroy and Hal Lublin (of Thrilling Adventure Hour fame, Steve Carlsburg from Night Vale) talk to people and have a “Surprisingly Nice” chat with them.
Point Mystic
Another supernatural mystery show. Just started not that long ago and they just wrapped up their first story. Really enjoyable.
Hosting
Another Little Empire podcast. Guy from Worst Idea of All Time played host to a friend from Australia for 7 days and they recorded a podcast every day and it just gets more and more absurd.
Polidicks
American politics as told by an american journalist and a New Zealander, namely Tim from Worst Idea of All Time. Just started with this one.
Missing Richard Simmons
I was super interested in this when it started, but I’ve read a few articles decrying it and now I feel weird about it. It has one more episode to go, so I guess I’ll ride it out for one more week.
Rabbits
The last and newest one from Pacific Northwest Stories. Very similar to the other two, except this one is about a cryptic ARG thing.
The second playlist is New Pods, and it’s a newer playlist. In the last monthish I added a bunch of new podcasts, so in order to keep up with the above but also be able to work my way through the newer ones, I made a separate playlist. I put a date cap on it, so this playlist is all podcasts where the first episode is from 2014 on. I was up to Feb 2015, but then I added about 15 new podcasts yesterday? day before? from an ask a friend reblogged and I’m in Sept of 2014 now. 3rd playlist is podcasts that started before 2014. I didn’t want to back up so far that it would take me a year to get caught up, so that playlist is a lower priority.
Podcasts that I am currently working my way through, have listened to at least a couple episodes, all on playlist 2:
Plumbing the Death Star
From the Sans Pants Radio network. Some Australian dudes debate about nerdy stuff in the way nerdy people do, like What Hogwarts House would you be in? or How does Thor get a haircut? Currently In Feb 2014 on this one.
Shut Up a Second
Also from Sans Pants Radio. Kind of like Plumbing the Death Start except not exclusively nerdy stuff. They just talk about anything.
Wolf 359
Just started this one as part of the last round of additions. So far so good.
Pleasure Town
Also just started.
Ones I haven’t listened to yet, but are subscribed to, either on playlist 2 or 3:
D&D Is for Nerds
Dinosaur Park
Boone Shepherd
Movie Maintenance
Super Gym Friends
The Glass Canon
Ghostbusters Resurrection
Dungeons and Doritos
Pokeballs of Steelix
Nerdy Show Book Club
The Orphans
The Call of Cthulhu
Liberty
Mabel
King Falls AM
Alba Salix
The Penumbra Podcast
The Bridge
EOS 10
The Elysium
The Magnus Archives
Greater Boston
Return Home
Our Fair City
And that’s everything in my podcatcher.

MUN QUESTIONS.
Q1 : if you could write your character your way in their own movie , what would it be called , what style would it be filmed in , and what would it be about ?
A1 : Mmmm...for a title maybe ‘ Cracked Glass ’ and I have a feeling it would be more of a psychological horror type movie depicting the the struggles Cosette goes through on a daily basis. It would be filled with creepy imagery and probably some nasty gore which I’m alllll about.
Q2 : what would their soundtrack / score sound like ?
A2 : The song that is currently on my blog is it, 100%.
Q3 : why did you start writing this character ?
A3 : Well I was getting bored of playing a character and I always loved bioshock and thought of making a character blog there. Took me a few days to choose but I figure ‘well I see no little sisters how about we try that?’. At first Cosette was just a generic little sister when I started this blog but she evolved pretty fast when I realized it didn’t have to be that way and I could make my own back story, give her a name, a appearance that was different from the others, and basically change her into my very own OC.
Q4 : what first attracted you to this character ?
A4: Little sisters are SO FUCKING CUTE and plus she is now my OC who doesn’t love their OC’s?
Q5 : describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse.
A5 : I don’t know if I dislike anything about Cosette yes sometimes I wish she wasn’t so mean but I don’t hate her for it. Honestly most of her personality and how she acts is my own personality. She’s basically me but not me at the same time.
Q6 : what do you have in common with your muse ?
A6 : Our personality like I just said...Cosette is how I get a lot of my feelings out because I don’t really talk about them very much. She’s my vent character.
Q7 : how does your muse feel about you ?
A7 : Sometimes she’s indifferent but most of the time we get along great we are practically almost the same person.
Q8 : what characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ?
A8 : @paternall ( dad ), @diemuttergans ( Mam ), @longestconofall ( I’ve never interacted with a Fontaine and I really want to. A Lamb would be nice but there isn’t a blog for her. And Eleanor! Pretty much any Bioshock character and OC, come at me.
Q9 : what gives you inspiration to write your muse ?
A9 : Carrie, playing Bioshock 1 & 2, and music.
Q10 : how long did this take you to complete ?
A10 : 2ish hours because I was kinda on and off it.

Day 12 then 13 followed by the 14
Day 12
It was a pretty chill for the day, played with masa again and expanding my champions more so I can rank this season. So far i can nearly play every lane but mid and bot is my favorite. My girl syndra, literally is annoying and I love the new champ. A mage but bursty as hell. Season 10 lets get at it
Day 13
Nothing much happened again, but I failed my entry exam. Kinda figured because I was at a huge disadvantage but I’m going back to school again. And I start this monday... yay. Web development time.
After that idk what time I played with Shem; Dark Souls 3 for the night. Maaaan if only it played DS3 with me here and there. But we officially beat all of the bosses of DS3 (vanilla) now its to the DLC.
After that I got a call again to head to her house again because why not? A good lengthy drive but I arrived at her apartment like I think 2ish if I recall. This TIME I BROUGHT CLOTHES TI SLEEP HAHA and my switch again. . And my sleeping stuff, retainers you name it. So I took my usual shower and got ready to chill with her. Thankfully she was ready to start the show for tonight and was busy playing our playlist as I shower. Once everything was situated she, we played Mario Party and CTR.... lol ain’t nobody beating me a duel haha. Then I guess we relaxed and she just ranted to me about some issues regarding with her friends decision to stay in her relationship. It was a lengthy talk, and luckily we had drinks to spice it up. Maybe a bit to much but that’s fine, we continued to talk for a bit. And then she got her Laptio for some Netflix to watch...... so It’s already 4am now, and I have been up since 11 am So I was getting ready to KO and I just told her I’m exhausted so she just got ready for bed and head to the washroom And BAM, she comes out in her outfit lmao. Like I never seen a girl in black laces dude wtf. And Beinh intoxicated wasn’t helping..........And yeaaaaah things got intense right after lol. It was sooo good and can Alcohol can do wonders..............
Day 14
Woke up at Dom’s place again, wasted I guess. Literally this clown is KO still and it’s 12ish pm, woke her up and damn she got up so fast haha. Two hours later I’m already changed and we went on a another date BUT I had to work on her car again. Since idk how she’s hurting her Altima......... I’m literally in the middle of a snowstorm putting new breaks in her car..........
-_-
Finally that’s done we used my car and just head to Orland Mall since it’s close to her place, dude she’s literally changing my wardrobe haha. She said,” I like your style and it’s very you. But let’s try something different and I’ll pay for some of them.” I’m not a huge fashion dude as you think, but my goodness we came out with 3 pants from Aeropostale’s, 6 holister shirts and some shoes.. haha dude wtf. And she even asked me what kind of lingerie will be nice. And to remind people we aren’t dating but it seems like it. And I still don’t have feelings for her. But wtf? So yeah I’m over here giving her my opinion since I didn’t have an opinion much in my previous relationship regarding fashion.
But recently I’m having an interest in fashion again lol....
And now I’m at her place again.... taking care of her pup as she’s finishing up her project for school. HER DOGGO IS SO CUTE MAN. I’m actually enjoying this moment, it’s really nice and she’s reassuring me when we argue we will talk it out and be very adult like. And I’m glad she’s saying it here and there, but sooner or later I need to break it to her.
But it’s fun, I hadn’t had this fun since 2016 when I was in SC. And I’m slowly coming back to my old self. But here’s one great thing, there are times and no offense but I forgot I was in a relationship these last 4 years.
I’m having so much fun with her and I can act like myself more.
Well I’m going to hangout again with her this Monday, this time after class I’m going to teach her how to play LOTR. Hahaah

Preface: I was supposed to take this trip with the one and only Katie Paolano, but about 5 days before the trip she had to get her appendix removed :( SO I brought my dad instead. I wanted to do a write up on this trip because initial planning was relatively blind and definitely could have used some help/direction since I had never been out here before.
Day 1:
We took a 7 AM flight from JFK to SLC on Tuesday and landed around 10 AM Mountain Time. Flight was smooooooth and the free Delta snack mix rocked even in the early hours of the day (Always fly Delta- I am a die hard supporter). After landing in SLC we took the shuttle over to FOX rental car and waited foreverrrrr to get our Jeep... It was worth it in the end but me being exhausted and impatient, I struggled to sit still in the creepy check in area.
Once we got the car my Dad and I headed out to get some food in Salt Lake City before making moves up to Jackson Hole. We stopped at this Mexican place that was on Diners Drive-In’s and Dives and it was DROOL worthy, definitely go if you have time— it was called Red Iguana and it is the most authentic Utah Mexican food in the whole world. We got a bunch of different tacos, but the carnitas tacos were fireeeee (the guac tacos were overrated).
We then proceeded with the drive up north, making a pit stop at Bear Lake along the way. My research led me to believe that you had to stop at Bear Lake to see the amazing view and get a Raspberry Milkshake from some diner in town. The drive up was 2ish hours from SLC and I was hype for my milkshake until we got into town and realized the diner had closed down— if you take one thing away from this post, know that Bear Lake is still worth seeing for the view and to take a quick bathroom break but don’t get your hopes up for a milkshake because you will be sad and disappointed for the rest of your drive (NO MILKSHAKES). All in all, you could definitely avoid the 45 min detour to Bear Lake if you are in a hurry to get up to Jackson.
Dad took the wheel in Bear Lake and took us home for the 3 hour drive we still had to go. While he drove, I curated a playlist for the mountains— FYI there are definitely lots of places on this drive that have zero service, so probably should’ve saved down more music ahead of time. We had the address of our Apartment in Teton Village in the GPS, so once we got to Jackson Hole we went straight over there and basically missed the town of Jackson lol. (FYI I was definitely one of those tourists that didn’t realize the difference between Jackson Hole and Jackson) We got to Teton Village just after 6 and the check-in area was closed for the night— our rental facility made it really easy for us to pick up our keys after hours so we grabbed those and made our way to the 2 bedroom apartment. Teton Village is exactly that, a village at the base of Teton National Park— you can walk everywhere in the village and there are a few little shops and restaurants but nothing substantial. This area is mostly for the bougie ~Four Season~ skiers in the winter, but it is beautiful in the summer and you have pretty spectacular views of the area from here. We wandered around for the evening and got dinner at The Handle (the grown up grilled cheese was bombbb) before PTFO around 9 pm.

Day 2:
We woke up at 7 and leisurely made our way down to the town of Jackson which is SO cool! We got breakfast at Persephone’s Bakery and drank literally all of the coffee. This place is the cutest of all cute things and was the perfect spot to warm up since I accidentally wore shorts thinking it would be semi-warm in the morning- I was wrong. Persephone’s has fire pits on the porch and big doors that open up making the restaurant an indoor-outdoor hot spot... would DEFINITELY recommend.
After breakfast we made our way over to Mad River’s Boat House for our white water rafting trip! The trip is about a 30 minute shuttle from the Boat House, followed by an hour and forty-five mins on the water and a 40 minute shuttle back. This was one of the more adventurous things I’ve ever done in my life, aside from free climbing boulders at Jesus Camp when I was 13. Super cool experience, juxtaposed by a “muffy” fellow adventurer that complained about being too wet the entire time (Asked dad how to describe her and muffy was the first word he said...). Also would DEFINITELY recommend.
Following our expedition, we headed over to the grocery store to pick up goods for Thursday’s breakfast and trip to Yellowstone. Jackson has plenty of grocery stores and gas stations so it doesn’t feel super remote. We made our way back to Persephone’s for moooore coffee and then headed back to the apartment to walk around Teton Village. We wandered around Teton Village and Jackson for the rest of the afternoon before heading to dinner at 7 PM.
Dinner was at one of the most breathtakingly beautiful spots in the country... Piste Mountain Bistro is at the top of one of the gondolas in Teton Village and it is stunninggg. We hopped on the gondola around 6:40 and made it up to be seated just after 7. We had a reservation but definitely didn’t need it. The nicer part of the restaurant is inside, though they have a deck that has more of a bar-food menu. Food up there was delicious and we had an insane view of the area from our table. If you aren’t interested in spending too much $$, definitely sit on the deck and just get a drink to appreciate the scene— the gondola ride is free! It got chillier at night and I was glad i wore jeans and a sweater (some people had parkas up there which just seemed aggressive for early September...)
After dinner i ptfo again :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day 3:
This day was our big Yellowstone adventure, but we started the day channeling our inner yogi at the top of the gondola (same space as last night’s dinner!). Yoga was only $30 and it has the most insane views-- only negative was having to watch my Dad do yoga :/
After yoga we headed down the mountain and changed for our drive to Yellowstone! We drove top down (bc Jeep) and made our way through the Tetons, about 1.25 hours to the south entrance of Yellowstone national park. Yellowstone had some awesome sights to see, but we headed left from the south entrance, toward Old Faithful and the Hot Springs. Let me tell you, Old Faithful is kinda underwhelming. It’s cool but also kinda lame after a few seconds-- people only know it because it is one of the only “reliable” geysers, so you know you’ll see it erupt pretty close to the times they list (just about once an hour) Literally hundreds of people gather around it to see it blow, and then everyone waits for something exciting and it doesn’t really every get there-- I’d give it a 6 on the scale of 1 to cool geysers. The only reason i can confidently give it a 6 is because randomly one of the other geysers was erupting at the same time (so we got to see a big one-- beat that Old Faithful 💁🏼‍♀️)
We also checked out the Hot Springs which were really beautiful, but tbh trying to do Yellowstone in a day is really difficult and there is a lot of driving. Could’ve spent lots of time there....
Dad and I headed back to Jackson and got some bomb pizza (i am DEFINITELY lactose intolerant but I just like to pretend that I’m not). After pizza we watched tennis and thennnnnn ptfo :) bet ya didn’t expect that one...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day 4:
Day 4 was spent in the Tetons, hiking 3 hours around Jenny Lake! The Lake is stunning and i would definitely recommend as a medium level hike in the area-- some people just take the ferry across the lake to the water falls, but let’s not forget that I was a collegiate athlete, so we hiked allllll the wayyy around.
After the hike we drove back to Jackson for some coffee at Cowboy Coffee and then grabbed coffee before driving back down to SLC. We crashed for the night at my cousins house just north of the city, and watched Chef’s Table (shameless plug for the best show on netflix) and some random baseball movie with Amy Adams.
Day 4 was great! but driving is no fun! so i made dad do it :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day 5:
Day 5 we drove down to Park City and explored one of the cutest ski towns I’ve every seen. Park City is made for the bougie skier, with pricey boutiques for some (my mom) and convenient ski lifts for others (literally no one in the Watts family). We walked up and down Main Street and I contemplated buying a lot of things, but ultimately left with a teeshirt ~shocking~. I also want to take this time to say my Dad used this trip as an ultimate shopping excursion, and left the mountains as a distinguished mountain man-- if my mom let him grow a beard he seriously would’ve looked the part, but we all know that’s never going to happen lol.
We went to a bomb brunch in the morning at Harvest-- 10/10 would recommend and/or eat everything on the menu...
In the afternoon we went to the Park City Olympic park which is super cool and worth checking out- right now the U.S. ski and snowboard teams use the space for practice, but it is open to the public for viewing and entertainment purposes... you can luge if you want to...
For dinner we went to this swanky place only the locals know about (and our hotel concierge of course), at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. We ate out on the porch and saw the most beautiful and prob very expensive weddings. Dinner was so good and we filled up on some rly good meats- tbh i’m writing this in retrospect and i dont remember what i got, but i remember it being something with meat and it tasting really good.
After dinner we went back to the hotel and, you guessed it, ptfo!

Day 6:
Day 6 sucked bc we left and that sucks. Early morning departure and nothing fun to report.
That’s it for now-- text me if you want more info, or if you just want to text me ;)
