O YEA. after a long wait, i finally got the popmart riddler. he's adorable! :3

for pride. i wanted to talk about ed's bf from "strange love adventures" - which i accept into canon, and why i love this relationship, despite it only being like one page long.

in this comic, eddie dated somebody named "antoine moray." who is now a famous A-list actor - stars in many big movies. he and eddie used to date in college. (also confirms eddie DOES have a sharp jawline to the point it's noticeable! remember that, dc!)

eddie and antoine were clearly lovers - never quite stated. but for context, the comic had riddles where eddie lead batman to ppl he was clearly romantically involved in. (the teacher he had a crush on as a kid who rejected him because - obvs he's a kid and she's an older woman. his college lover, antoine, and then his girlfriend when he was the riddler. and a woman he WANTED to date, but he didn't want her wrapped up in his current life.)

what i love about this relationship is that it feels so real. this one is so realistic to eddie. they had true love - but it ended because of their problems, especially eddie's. antoine eventually became well received in acting class. but, of course, eddie, became very jealous of this. he obviously began to feel as though antoine preferred the audience over him. and well, eddie felt a bit as though he himself is falling short in success. there's also the fact that antoine also believed he had neglected eddie. maybe he did. a mistake on his part that he didn't quite realize right away. obviously, eddie still cares deeply for antoine - he loved him enough to send batman his way, and give him flowers.

it's so sad that eddie still cares about antoine, and that antoine feels guilty - that he could've saved eddie from becoming the riddler. (maybe antoine could've?) it's very sad, but also very realistic for a relationship with eddie - especially back then. when college was his worst years.

anyways, it was only a page long... but i'd love to see more of them.

hi. honestly it does get kinda annoying when they do have harley quinn lecture batman. especially on morals. ESPECIALLY when it's in a continuity where she's done some of the most fucked up things imaginable. like, literally irredeemable, drop her in the middle of the ocean, fucked up things. like it'd be understandable if she was lecturing batman and it's clear that she's either being manipulative, or delusional. but when you can just feel the writers are agreeing with her and going "yeah, harley is telling him OFF!!" then it's just so stupid.

DC needs to realize if they want harley to be a somewhat redeemable person or convince us she's an antihero, they shouldn't have her killing kids only for her to turn around and start lecturing batman as if she has a stool to stand on.

even tho it's not in my canon (my eddie was the head of the cybercrime unit in the GCPD - inspired by ark origins) but i do like the story of eddie getting fucked over by a company and doesn't receive his royalties for creating such a big, successful game. because this happens too often. like the strawberry shortcake creator, and the hello kitty creator didn't receive royalties either - even though you would think they'd be millionaires because of their creation. but nope. some of them are even quite poor. this also, technically, happened to eddie's creator - bill finger. who was actually the ghost writer / true creator of batman and many of the rogues (including eddie!!!!) but bob kane took all the credit. and bill finger, unfortunately, died a poor man with little recognition. so i did like how the animated series took a unique approach to eddie's story and instead of making him a Scientist of any sort because he's Smart, they went with video game developer who got fucked over by corporation. the job fits eddie quite well, and it can also be a PSA. (also really nice to see eddie standing up for himself in this situation. fuck mockridge.)

it's one of the reasons why eddie's debut eps is one of my favorites from TAS. it's also just satisfying to watch eddie get away with it. and although bruce mentioned eddie still on the run - dick actually seemed more upset that MOCKRIDGE got away with making profit off eddie's work. which bruce then proceeded to joke about mockridge being literally traumatized because of eddie. it's suuuuch a satisfying end.

which is also why i don't get why bruce is so harsh to eddie in riddler's reform. like i always criticize how much nicer bruce is to harley in harley's holiday versus eddie's ep. like in harley's ep, bruce does have hope for harley (despite being madly in love with the joker.) yet in riddler's reform, bruce acts like eddie will never be good because of his "obsession." (which how is eddie's obsession worse than harley's?) like yeah, i know unlike harley, eddie was just pretending. but it's still weird for bruce to have zero hope for eddie when in his first debut episode, bruce seemed to have understood completely - he just didn't approve of eddie's methods of dealing with his situation. (clearly bruce thought mockridge was a Terrible Person, bruce just can't let anyone be Killed tho)

I'm crying. My brother just started telling me that England was making a new Batman cartoon based on Damian Wayne called, "Little Batman." And I was like "??? why is England making it??" And then he just goes on to talk about how it has the ugliest animation he's ever seen. And he ends it with, "it'll probably be on HBO MAX, I'll show you it later." And I got curious, so I tried to look it up and can't find anything at all. I started laughing hard, like "are you sure you didn't dream this??"
