i think the reason why araki keeps returning to rohan kishibe time and time again is because he’s sincerely just. an incredibly fun character. he’s not some morally good guy here to save the day, he’s a magnificent bastard with an incredibly versatile power who nevertheless is also the type of nosy shit who gets himself into trouble with things beyond his comprehension. and yet...and YET he also does the Right Thing and looks out for people in his own way, and if there’s someone you want on your side who will step up to an eldritch horror and be like “you know what? you’re NOTHING compared to me” and actually somehow get out of that experience unscathed (save for his hurt pride), rohan kishibe is, surprisingly, your man
