Injury update: Gareth Bale | April 25, 2017 - Projection: out 3-4 weeks (torn calf) 

Gareth Bale has a Grade II injury to his left soleus muscle, Real Madrid confirmed today. The injury came in Sunday’s Clásico, where he had to be taken off at 35′. When Zinedine Zidane appeared before the press on Tuesday, he stated that Bale had assured him he was at 100% in the last two training sessions leading up to the Barcelona match. Cadana SER reported back on April 20 that the club’s staff had even advised Bale not to force himself.

This injury is just another instance of a disappointing campaign for the Welshman, as he had already been sidelined for three months this season with an ankle injury. This is also his eigth calf injury as a Real Madrid player. Gareth will minimally miss three weeks of action, possibly four.
