*Straight Shooter* Cyanotype print on Hahnemühle Harmony HP Model: Lara ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One thing I discovered while shooting the Photosynthesis project is how much self-confidence transforms a portrait. I think this is so evident in this image of Lara looking straight at the camera. There's a sense of assurance and (dare I say) power that exudes from this image. So when Sandise got in touch a few weeks before I left Hong-Kong I immediately booked a shoot with him even though I no longer had my own studio and I was heavily into final packing. I usually shoot treetops inverted to have the silhouette peter out. Instead, I had the treetop on top, and the head was taken mostly out, and yet I find it spectacular. It turns out that of all those I own, the one I prefer is Hahnemühle Harmony, and this beautiful image of Elodie and her flowing hair was a good test shot. *Churchbells* Dana 120 + Washi W ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is about as experimental as it gets. Spurred on by photos by @billthoo and @apkeedle I decided to do some radical multiexpo shots of Paris. I needed slow film in order to ensure it wasn't horrendously overexposed, and said Bill had given me a roll of Washi W, so I gave that a try. Note that the Dana 120 is seriously blurry at all distances (I tested that on a separate roll) so I wasn't expecting much here. And while this is not the look I was after, and the vignette is rather savage (strong vignette from the Dana plus sharp low-light drop off from the paper is my guess) I really like the results, in an impressionistic photography kind of way. I'm somewhat limited by the constraints of my EOS300 which limits multiple exposures to 9 frames. I decided to shoot super low ISO film (12 ISO here) to get more latitude even in bright daylight. These types of film are super contrasty, of course.
