(Thalin FFXIV)
A scratched up photo on the table in the Forgotten Knight…“Eavan Hyde, last seen boarding a ship to Kugane…Continue Pursuit?” @eavanshide
Tumblr media
The hyur wandered through the bar with a yawn, scratching at his chin before blinking with a stop. He saw a face down paper sitting on the table and curiosity getting the best of him. In his half-asleep daze, he stared at the image for a good moment. Finally he blinked once and suddenly slammed the picture to his chest. “What. The. Fuck.” he hissed quietly, wandering off to a side corner. Thalin grumbled as he folded the picture and shoved it into a pocket. “Bloody manhunt using pictures like this? What’s wrong with law these days?” He wasn’t exactly keen on being found with said picture, but it was better then being out in the open he figured. “Lady looks like trouble regardless.”
@eavanshide thanks!))

WOL Challenge Day 1: Omen...
In the biting wind, the footing was treacherous. Ahead of her walked Alphinaud, Tataru, and the Warrior of Light. She however, dragged behind, not entirely certain if this was such a good idea. Twenty years had passed since her father had taken her across the Steps of Faith. A merchant for the Forges of the Holy See, he traveled under special dispensation, acquiring special ores, raw minerals and gems that were not available in the lands surrounding Ishgard and her holdings.
Eavan again looked ahead of her, rather than her footing on the icy stonework. Ishgard was starting to shadow the wind driven snow as it blew across the stonework structure. She still had the old leather sheath that contained her original documents given her by her father. It still bore his crest, a picture of her mother and her father on their wedding, a copy of their marriage, and the special documents that had allowed her to travel at his side after her mother had passed from illness. Her father had blamed the Heretics. Claimed they impeded important medical supplies to the city, and therefore it was their fault she died. Eavan though, had always suspected her mother had died of a broken heart. Father had been traveling for longer and longer time. Long enough that she had convinced him to sell their Manor house, albeit a small one she mused, with but one servant and move the two of them to the edge of the Brume. Close enough to save coin, yet far enough away to still be considered polite society.
Her companion’s backs rose into her sight, causing her to pause. The Gate Guards were again asking for their papers. Rather than the sheath that contained her originals, Eavan mused at the omen of using the false ones gained through Ser Haurchefaunt and the Lord Fortemps, as the four of them fled to Ishgard. The others because of accusations of crimes they committed, and her because she had felt betrayed by her fellow Crystal Braves for turning on the Scions. Deception and trickery had led her down this path, and now deception and trickery were bringing her through the gates of where she was born.
“Miss Hyde, Welcome to Ishgard, please enjoy your stay.”
She nodded, as inwardly she cringed, she hadn’t liked the idea of them using her birth name, but was assured that no one would recognize her since she had been just eight summers old when she had left with her father...

WoL Challenge Day 2 - Unspoken
Eavan sat at the crowded bar, fingers idly playing with the fried bits of battered meat. She wasn’t really hungry, the ale sitting stale in her stomach with every sip. She looked up as the tender set a fresh tankard down, sliding a gil from the stack she had piled next to her plate with a nod.
This ale was different, heavier, more full bodied. It seemed to stick to her ribs as she drank deep. She found it oddly comforting in the bustle of the customers around her. She caught the tender’s eye and gave him an appreciative nod, which he returned with a smile. She tried a bite of meat again, this time, it went down easier with the thick brew.
Tumblr media
She wasn’t sure how long the dark haired beauty had been sitting next to her. Lost in the thoughts that plagued someone who felt they were a survivor, when all her companions had died. Long enough that it was the setting of a second shot glass next to the small pile of gil that she looked up from her thoughts. Eavan stared at the two full thick glasses, then looked into the red eyes staring at her. Those eyes seemed to nod towards the untouched drinks as the figure held one of her own up in toast.
She didn’t recognize the woman, wasn’t sure of where the gesture was coming from. Misery loves company? She thought to herself as she took up one of the full shots. She could smell the smokey peat infused into the liquor as she brought it up to clink against the other woman’s glass. They both drank, they both held the liquor in their mouth for about the same length of time, before both swallowed it down.
The woman surprised her then, placing an object on the bar wrapped in a dirty cloth. Eavan tentatively reached out, pausing until the silent woman nodded to her again, leaning back a bit and taking a drink from her own mug of ale. The cloth fell away as Eavan lifted the item from the bar top. A cracked, scratched and damaged picture frame was the first thing she noticed, before her breath caught in her chest. An elegant, red haired woman, dressed in finery stood with her hand on the shoulder of a young red haired girl in the uniform of the Academy. The bright smile on the freckled face beamed through a smudge of dirt.
She looked into the smirking face of the woman. Eyes wide as she held back tears that had sprung there in an instant. Speechless, she was struck speechless. No smart remark came bidden to her lips. Not even a week within the walls of Ishgard, and someone had already connected her to the past. She knew the old house, crumbled by the recent Dravanian attack, had been picked clean, she just had assumed it was by who ever had lived there currently. She couldn’t imagine it having been left empty those twenty odd years, so where had the picture been kept?
The young woman didn’t say anything as she got up from her stool. Two large men fell into step behind her as she walked away. She paused on the steps that left the Forgotten Knight, looking straight into her soul. “Welcome Home Eavan” she said, at least, that is what Eavan thought she said. There had been no voice to the words. It was then that Eavan noticed to the total silence around the remainder of the crowd. Every eye in the place was looking at her, some curious, a few looking away very quickly, but a number of them were taking her measure, as she made her hand stay steady so she could drink the last of the smokey liquor in the stillness.

Major Arcana 0: The Fool
0. The Fool - when you first created your character, what did you originally envision for them?
So at the time I made Sahxa, I was also making another Ginger Haired character. The idea was I could have both sides of the coin. Sahxa, the light hearted, fun vagabond who just always seemed to be places. On the flip side, there was Eavan, my foray into a Hyur, more stern and grumpy, available for darker themes etc.
Then Sahxa just seemed to take off more. Her personality filled out so much faster, her story came so quickly. The twists of what makes her a little unique fell into place like clockwork. It was easy to get into the role and run with it. She is still very much my light hearted fishercatte, but, she is slowly, very slowly picking up these little cares in the world, and she is growing.
Eavan is still a work in progress, her side blog is prepped, and I have some things sort of written up for her as well. But for now, i am just having way too much fun with Sahxa and watching her grow into so much more than was intended!
Thanks for the ask @luck-and-larceny !

OOC...I am a little behind on a couple of tags. IRL has kicked me hard in the teeth and it has made working on creative things difficult. I greatly appreciate the tags I have received (and a very special ASK by an amazing lady that I am holding on to because it helps to give me a little bit of a smile in these trying times)
There are Two Characters for this blog:
Sahxa Relanah has been getting most of the attention. Ginger haired Keeper of the Moon born of North Shroud parents who emigrated to the Ruby Sea before Sahxa was born. Fishing and the Water are her life. Slice of Amusing and Fun life will be themes for Sahxa. Party/Beach/Vagabond character who follows where the fish run are her aesthetic. (Crystal Data Center)
Eavan Hyde is a Ginger haired Midlander, born in Ishgard. Her story is still a work in progress, but, some of her story has her arriving back to Eorzea around the time of the Doman Refuges, which lead to her signing up as a Crystal Brave. Loyal to the Scions, and not Ilberd’s ilk, it was her relationship with Riol, who guided her to Coerthas to meet the WoL, Alphinaud and Tataru for the journey back to Ishgard. From there, i am still working through her story and fleshing it out more. More serious, intense personality. 1000 yalm stare, rough, snappish and confident identity.
Ginger Hair, Green Eyes and Freckles will be a theme of this blog if you haven’t noticed.
