GSDs bred and used by guiding eyes for the blind, fidelco, and eye dog foundation for the blind, do you know in general what lines and breeders they use? What type of GSDs are these (am show, West German show, etc?). What makes these shepherds different from other ones?
I have no idea to be honest, but I would imagine they are probably their own line that they have developed throughout the years to get the traits they want. I’d imagine they’d breed for lower key dogs with as little prey drive as possible.

I just graduated team training with my new guide/service dog! 🐾 The dogs in the litter that the dog I would be getting from the guide dog organization were originally training for me made us think they would be too small for mobility & they was struggling a lot & they weren’t sure they’d make the cut. Occasionally, this guide dog organization gets donated dogs from breeders or other circumstances. We had previously discussed about a donated dog from a breeder at the beginning should the dogs they were training not work out. I know everyone has been asking & curious about my new dog. My new guide/service dog is my previous in training dog, Milo, who had washed for a short period due to some anxiety. He had matured a lot & grew out of some of his sensitives & the guide dog organization accepted him as a donated dog being a special situation. I am really grateful they gave me this opportunity of training a donated dog under these circumstances. For anyone who doesn’t know, Milo was being trained by a professional guide dog trainer who previously worked for Fidelco before he took a break from training. He matured so much after we had stopped training & he had time to just be a dog. Sometimes some dogs take a longer time to mature/grow up. I kept working with him on public access work (with the trainers permission & advice). The guide organization had previously talked about a donated dog from a breeder. I told them about Milo, sent some of his training videos, & they seemed interested. I took him mid August. They were all blown away by his behavior. Milo was placed with a guide dog trainer who is also a service dog trainer so he can re-fresh some of his service dog tasks too. He said Milo had come a long way and has been doing very well. I am extremely blessed & grateful for this guide dog organization & the wonderful trainer who trained Milo & worked with us as a team. I will forever be thankful for them! We have done very well & will continue to grow as a team. ❤️🐾 #GuideDog #GuideDogsOfInstagram #ServiceDog #ServiceDogsOfInstagram#Labradoodle #AustralianLabradoodle #AustralianLabradoodlesOfInstagram #LabradoodlesOfInstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B4TNKw1gUFh/?igshid=oj6cpe9ft3es

¿Cuánto cuesta un perro guía?
Tumblr media
Revisiones veterinarias
Vacunas

33 Washington St Office Space Undergoes Extensive Renovation
Office Space for Rent in Newark, NJ | Commercial Space for Rent
The iconic 450,000-square-foot office tower is undergoing extensive renovations from street to roof with state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities.
Newark, New Jersey – January 5, 2018 – Changes are already happening at 33 Washington Street, a recent acquisition of the Berger Organization. The 450,000-square-foot office tower is undergoing extensive renovations. This prime office space building in Newark will undergo major changes including: all new central systems including elevators, HVAC and security, remodeled lobby, new streetscape to welcome tenants and visitors, fit-outs for tenants in emerging tech fields and the legal sector.
In addition to that project, Washington Street is being transformed by other building projects as well. Of note is that their neighbor, the respected Newark Museum, is also undergoing a streetscape renovation for its Washington Street entrance, which had been closed for 30 years. Visitors to the museum will soon enter through the original and beautiful front door.
Another neighbor to 33 Washington Street, has just completed a $70-million renovation to transform a former church into a high tech facility, supporting Newark’s emergence as the new technology center on the East Coast. That project was done by building owners Fidelco and Audible, which is headquartered at 1 Washington Street.
These buildings are all in the Washington Park neighborhood and—more good news—a group of Newark business leaders, in partnership with the City, are in talks about renovating Washington Park similar to the beautification and upgrades that were completed at Military Park. Local businesses know firsthand how important the Military Park renovation was to that neighborhood and to the residents of Newark, and entrepreneurs hope to see a similar renewal at Washington Park.
Other exciting developments for Newark is that 33 Washington Street is within a district proposed by the City for Amazon’s second corporate headquarters, called HQ2. Amazon is putting out bids to many cities to become home to its second headquarters; given Newark’s reputation as a growing technology hub and its proximity to the area’s major transportation infrastructure, plus Amazon’s large distribution center footprint in the region, all of Newark is watching this situation closely.
While Newark continues to grow and attract a new generation of entrepreneurs and businesses with premium Newark office space, the city’s cultural activities are one of the main reasons people are attached to Newark as place to live and work. The future looks bright for Newark!

For Those Relying on Guide Dogs, Connecticut Breeder is Essential
At first, it may seem confusing why a dog breeder is considered an essential business. Upon further consideration though, it’s easier to understand. Fidelco, in Bloomfield and Wilton, has trained over 1,000 dogs, all who serve people who are blind. “We are essential in that, when you have living breathing animals it continues. It doesn’t stop,” said Stephanie Corbeil, who oversees... from Local – NBC Connecticut https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/for-those-relying-on-guide-dogs-connecticut-breeder-is-essential/2251151/

(Pt. 1 of 4)The topic that I will be posting about this week for Blindness Awareness Month is guide dogs! The reason I chose to post about this topic this week is because I am doing hometown team training for my next guide/service dog ‪starting this Wednesday, October 23‬! Team training will be about 10 days. My trainer says it may take less or more time depending on how well we do. About Guide Dog schools/programs/organizations: Most guide dog schools have on campus training where the client stays for the amount of time of training which can range from 2 weeks to 1 month depending on the client’s needs and progress as a guide dog team. Team training is typically adapted to working in areas in which the client typically travels (rural, urban, suburban), but in some other areas for practice as well. Some guide dog schools offer in home training (the trainer & dog come to the client’s hometown to train typically 1 on 1 in their familiar environment. This may be helpful to someone who can’t leave their work schedule, have other commitments they can’t travel away for, have other medical conditions that make traveling difficult, etc.) such as Guide Dogs of The Desert, Fidelco, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Freedom Guide Dogs, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Custom Canines Service Dog Academy, & more. Another option that some people do is owner training. This is very difficult for someone who is legally blind/has limited vision. Most people who owner train a guide dog seek help from professional trainers. Having resources helps a lot, but having a professional guide dog trainer is a huge help/must for making it a smoother & safer training process. When I trained Max for guide tasks, my vision was deteriorating, but I had some remaining & I had help from professionals. I did not do it all on my own. I started the process of targeting/finding things, following, the basic guide steps, etc. I had professional help with the more formal stages of guide training. It is not easy. The most common breeds used as guide dogs are Labs, Goldens, Lab/Golden crosses, German Shepherds, & occasionally Poodles if a client has allergies. #Blind #LegallyBlind #VisuallyImpaired #Blindness #Blindn https://www.instagram.com/p/B35OwUjAKHb/?igshid=1vanelid6sk0q
