Transition To Professional Practice E-portfolio Entry 1
Cody Lane lives in Frankston South and grew up in the Northern Country Victoria town of Echuca with his two younger brothers (Zach, 19 & Jordan, 15), younger sister (Ebony, 21) and Mum and Dad (Colin & Anne).
Cody has been a mad sports fan ever since he was born and that passionate has only developed as every year has gone by. Cody was born into a strongly-supported Hawthorn family (the Lane side of the family) and has developed a following for Soccer where he supports Melbourne Victory in the A-League and Chelsea Football Club in the English Premier League. Cody also is a big fan of American sport in NFL and Basketball where he follows Atlanta Falcons in the NFL and Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA.
Cody has also loved Cricket since he was a child and has developed a strong passion for horse racing in the last 5-6 years of his life which has sparked his drive to pursue a career in racing and sports media.
Cody has worked at Woolworths for almost 7 years in the meat department and now as an apprentice butcher. He also works at Moines Valley Racecourse as a Casual Raceday Service Attendant where he conducts a variety of different roles around the racecourse on race days.
As previously mentioned, Cody has developed an extremely strong passion for horse racing to couple up with his existing passion for various sports. This has seen him grow a strong drive to pursue a career in Horse Racing media in conjunction with his desire to be involved in the media side of sports. It has become far more clearer throughout studying his Bachelor of Sports Media degree that he has very comfortable and talented in front of the camera or behind a mic.
Cody has always had a strong voice, enjoyed engaging conversation about sport and now has been working hard both inside and outside of the course to develop his skills in broadcasting.
Cody's study performance has been below his expectations. Cody has been very open over the last six months on mental health issues and struggles he has faced over the last few years and is hoping to put those issues past him which will see improvements in his life.
Cody has struggled with organisation and punctuality with his work and study and knows that’s a key area he needs to continue to improve upon over the coming years.
The subject of Transition to Professional Practice is one that excites Cody as he knows it is the beginning stage of securing an internship and setting up for his future. Cody expects that this subject will entail work on sharpening up resumes, writing strong cover letters and knowing what to expect for internships and the interviews that’ll be conducted towards the end of semester.
Cody really looks forward to securing an internship and is going to look into as many internship opportunities both through Holmesglen and outside of Holmesglen (Horse Racing media organisations). Cody will look to put his all and showcase who he is and his talents with whatever organisation he lands an internship with.

一类可以使用现金或刷卡,另一类只能刷卡
准备好自己的环保袋,大多数超市不再提供塑料袋
保存好购物小票,以防退换货

Going abroad isn’t always possible, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on experiencing new foods, exciting music, or on exploring different cultures.
Living in Southern California, I don’t have to go far to get a taste of what it might be like to visit Greece, Romania, or Lebanon. Various international festivals are held across Southern California throughout the year. This means that if I want to experience la dolce vita Italian-style, try out German beers, or indulge in different street foods, there are plenty of opportunities each month to do just that.
Here are just a few of my favorite International Festivals in Southern California
