Text
Omegaverse au, omega!Steve, alpha!Eddie, courting
Au, where Steve decides that Eddie the freak Munson is the only alpha in the entire town, that would not make fun of him, if he asked him to take his omega v card. And even if he did, itā€™s not like anyone would believe him.
Eddie listens to Steveā€™s request, but he refuses. Saying thatĀ an omega should have their first time with someone they actually like.Ā
ā€œAt least let me court you,ā€ he explains.
It doesnā€™t take long before Steve starts finding handwritten poems about him in his locker. Steve keeps them in his math book to look at everyday. Sometimes catching Eddieā€™s gaze in the school hallways. Eddie always winks.
Then itā€™s Eddie giving him wilted wildflowers after school apologising that he canā€™t afford an actual bouquet. Steve keeps them in a vase until they dry out. He canā€™t stop smiling every time he looks at them.
Eddie also gives him homemade cookies that are too sweet, but Steve eats them anyway. The thought of someone baking something especially for him makes his chest flutter.
He gets a mixtape withĀ ā€œmade me think of youā€ songs that are all too loud for his liking, but he listens to them all. He canā€™t understand a single word.
One of the biggest surprises is when he sees Eddie in a crowd during his basketball match flipping a bird at the enemy team every time they score a goal. Heā€™s not even sure Eddie knows the rules, but Steve waves at him during a break and Eddie gives him the biggest grin.
Itā€™s a week later when someone is throwing pebbles at his window at 8pm. When he opens it and looks down at the ground, he sees Eddie with a guitar and a thumbs up. Before he manages to say hi, Eddie starts singing. Itā€™s a completely different style than the songs on the mix tape he gave him. Steve canā€™t help the smile that appears on his lips. His face feels hot and thereā€™s butterflies in his stomach as he watches Eddie.
When Eddie finishes, Steve sprints outside, barefoot. He canā€™t let Eddie leave now.
ā€œEddie!ā€ he shouts.
ā€œThought I scared you off, pretty boy,ā€ Eddie says. His hair is in a bun with some lose curls around his face. The tip of his tongue is out as he puts his guitar on his back.
Steveā€™s brain is a mush, too focused on Eddieā€™s lips to respond. He grabs Eddieā€™s chin and leans in, kissing him.
Soon Eddieā€™s hands are pulling him closer. A sound of approvement leaves his throat as he kisses him back.
A month ago Steve didnā€™t expect Eddie to actually court him and he definitely didnā€™t expect falling in love in the process.
