Because she saw so much of Pedro in him, that if he had found someone it would be like repeating history for her. Plus the extra heartbreak of watching someone who looks like your dead husband settle down and live the life he never could

Would she be happy if he did meet the love of his life? Of course! But she is fine with Pedro Jr. never settling down
