Jan 16th, Saturday 15:16
Jens was actually laughing.
Genuingly laughing, when Lotte told them some really bad joke she had heard in school. A dumb pun. But it had been the fourth in a row and they had finally reached the breaking point.
He sat at the table, an half emptied plate of apple slices between him and his little sister, while Lies roamed the kitchen to write down a list of groceries to buy on her way home. She planned to visit their mom and it had weighed heavy on her, when she had admitted this to Jens early that morning infront of the bathroom mirror.
Lies had told him, how much it hurt to live so far away and unable to travel and come home. She would have loved to help Jens over the past year, even if it would just have been for a week here and there. It was the reason why she had been so desperate to secure the position to be send to Brussels.
Not that it been an actual problem, her wokrplace knew very well about her family situation. Still, Lies had said, that the moment she had recieved the plane tickets only a week ago, she had broken down in her boss’s office.
Lies was here though now, thankful for the opportunity to bid farewell to their mother in person at last.
Jens understood the relief his older sister had explained to him. He couldn’t even entertain the thought of not being able to see his mom, while prohibited to visit inmidst the pandemic.
„Oh, I know! There is this one dish Theo and me always make as comfort food. Quite easy, but really nice in winter, with a good hearty broth. I’m going to do that.“ Lies declared vague from where she stood behind the opened door of the fridge. Mumbling something under her breath, while she noted things down on the piece of paper on the counter next to her.
„I don’t know if I should trust you to actually cook something delicious.“ Jens mocked, reminded of the many times that Lies had simply ordered take-out on every evening she was watching her siblings. Cooking was for loosers, she always had said, and simultaneously implied that she was at an absolute loss in the kitchen.
„Says the person who had managed to let noodles get burned to crisps while boiling them.“
„I was ten.“ He defended, cackling when Lies snorted and their gazes met. So much time had passed, but Jens was assured that the loving arguments between them would never cease to exist.
„But Jens is really good now. He makes like a super good riceotto“ Lotte chimed in, the wide smile on her face somewhere between amused and puzzled. She hadn’t much memories of Jens and Lies together, so it was reasonable for her to be unsure why it was funny. Their little sister had been only five when Lies had left.
She had cried for a whole week, but with time passing, she had stopped even mentioning Lies alltogether. She knew her, yes, but she couldn’t tell what they had done or talked about together any longer. And maybe it was a little sad, Jens thought, but it also meant that Lotte wouldn’t miss Lies as much as Jens sometimes did.
„Risotto.“ Jens corrected, while he leaned a little over to ruffle through her hair. She slapped his hand away, stucking out her tounge at him in jest.
„Well, maybe Jens should cook then. I won’t complain.“
„No way, you are the oldest now, you cook.“ Jens quickly proclaimed his flawless reasoning against the mere suggestion Lies had voiced. His older sister barely contained herself from laughing again, instead nodded along, as she continued to write even more things down.
Jens knew that she had come with a rented car from the airport, but the list just grew and he wasn’t sure, if he should tell her off. It looked like she wanted to stock the kitchen for an entire month.
The mood turned a little quieter, only Jens’s spotify playlist filled the house with some comfortable noise, while Lotte sketched some abstract scenes on paper. Jens’s eyes flicked over every once in a while, but it appeared like there wasn’t much reason behind it.
He yawned and stretched his arms, a loud cracking sound in his shoulder earned him a gleeful glance from Lies, who he flipped off. Despite it, he felt younger today. He felt lighter. His breathing wasn’t hurting as much, his thoughts came easier.
Lies and him had talked for hours yesterday. He had forgotten how close they used to be. Which was wierd given their age difference and them not even being the same gender. But somehow they always stuck together. Jens wished she would stay.
The day they had bid goodbye at the airport had been locked somewhere into his head. Even after three years he didn’t dared to touch it.
This all would be easier if he had Lies to live with them. But it wasn’t reality and Lies had made him understand that it was okay to be scared. She had admitted at three in the morning, when they had headed to bed, that it had taken her month to figure out how to live on her own. Especially after she had moved to a different continent, while leaving her family behind. Jens could do this too.
He still had all of his friends around. He had this house. He had Lotte.
He just had to start somewhere.
„I think I’m going to call Lucas.“ Jens suddenly said. For a moment he had considered the possibility that he hadn’t spoken aloud at all. However, it became clear that he had, as both his sister’s heads spun towards him in an instant.
„Really? That came out of nowhere. But good for you. I think you should.“ Lies said, a little startled by his surprising change of demeanour. Only this morning he had still sat depressed and hunched over in pity in front of his breakfast. Jens wasn’t even sure himself where the urge to do it had popped up from.
„Yes!“ Lotte followed up quickly with bright wide eyes. Of course she would be excited.
„Okay. I’m going to do it.“ He declared, more to will his confidence in excistense than aynthing else.
He was nervous. Maybe Lucas wouldn’t even pick up? Jens wasn’t even sure, if Lucas’s mom was still around. This was a bad idea.
The whole conversation from thursday sprung back into his mind. The hurt in Lucas’s eyes and the anger in his words. All caused by Jens. What if the other boy needed more time? What if he wouldn’t even pick up?
The fear must have shown on his face. Jens was sure, because Lies stood suddenly next to him, to push his phone into view. He had been starring at the surface of the table, unmoving, even when Lotte had come closer too, with a hand resting on his shoulder.
„Come on. Call.“ Lies demanded, despite the gentleness in her voice, it still made him take the phone into his hand.
„Alright.“
„Do you want us to leave?“
Good question, Jens thought, unsure how to answer. But then, he wasn’t planning on having the needed conversation over phone anyway. He was scared that words would get twisted and intentions screwed by the missing connection one had face to face.
So he shook his head.
The phone rang four times.
Nothing.
He tried again. Just this second time and then he would put it away again.
It merely managed to make a sound, before the call was answered.
„Jens?“
He sat at the table, his breath on hold, as he listened to the boy on the other end. Jens wouldn’t cry from solely his name being spoken by the person he missed so much for only a couple of days now. He wouldn’t.
That was at least what he desperately told himself.
„Jens? Are you there?“
There was worry in the voice and Jens didn’t trust it. He didn’t deserved it. But he was on the phone, he remembered. He had been the one to iniiate the conversation. He should probably say something.
„Hi.“
Jesus. His voice had certainly cracked, like some fifteen year old teenanger going through puperty. This was embarrassing. But it also helped. Lucas was definitely snorting on the other end of the call. And the three siblings all fell into laughter, with Lies wheezing at her brother’s pitiful attempt to make things right. His sister’s really tried to keep quiet, but it kind of was in vain. Lucas must have heard them.
It took Jens a solid minute to speak again.
„Sorry, about that.“
„It’s alright.“ Lucas said as he took an audible deep breath to calm down to continue. The faintest amusement in his voice still there, even if the mood had turned serious again. „I am really glad that you called.“
It was the earnesty that struck Jens the most. It came unexpected. He had planned to force Lucas to hear him out if he had to. In the strong assumption that the younger boy didn’t wanted to talk to him in the first place. Apparently Jens had been wrong. Again. Like so often. It seemed to become a habit.
„I’m glad you picked up.“
„Of course.“ Lucas replied without any hesitation, it made Jens smile a little. It felt so good to hear him again. To hear him at ease. Jens pushed away the intruding thought in his head, that told him that it probably had to do with Jens’s absence. He hated that he somehow could belive it.
„I thought, maybe we can talk?“
There was a brief pause on the other end, as the call fell silent.
„I’d like that. When?“ Lucas asked and Jens noticed that he hadn’t thought that far ahead.
„Uhm, when?“
„Yes, when?“
The amusement in the younger boy was back. Jens could imagine Lucas shaking his head at the silly and ungraceful awkwardness Jens presented. There was a hand in his view, that lead him to look up at Lies, who tried to get his attention.
„Tomorrow.“ She whispered, nodding her head quickly, while she pointed a finger to herself. „I can watch Lotte.“
Jens loved Lies so much, it was ridiculous.
„How about tomorrow? I could come over to yours.“
„Okay. Be here at one maybe?“
„Yes, that works.“ He affirmed in a heartbeat. Jens would have agreed to any proposed time. It wouldn’t have mattered as long as he got the chance to talk to Lucas. He had an idea what he wanted to say after last night’s conversation with Lies. He knew that it wouldn’t be perfect or maybe even work in his favour, but it would be a start.
„I’ll see you tomorrow then.“ Lucas said.
„Tomorrow.“
They sat in silence for a moment. Usually Jens would have told him that he loved him. But it didn’t feel right, even when the feelings were clearly there. It felt too much to voice it. They hadn’t broken up yet, but it wasn’t as if they were in a relationship still either. So he simply waited.
And then there was a clicking sound and the call was ended.

13 - 18
this took three days to write but *cracks knuckles* okay, let’s do this…
13. how do they greet the world — what is their typical attitude towards life? how does it differ in different circumstances, or towards different subjects? why do they take these attitudes, and why do they change? how do these tend to be expressed?
before the war against his grandfather and the ultimate fall of asgard life was great. freddie had a ‘you can’t touch me im gonna be king one-day’ attitude of sorts. he thought because of his royal status he could do anything— get away with anything. that changed of course once his grandfather grew paranoid, grew hateful. in some ways, it turned him into someone who was almost as paranoid. he looks over his shoulder a lot more now and that childhood innocence he once had went away.
through the portal and beyond that he’s getting better. he still looks over his shoulder a lot and he’s always prepared for an attack but he knows he’s not in asgard anymore. he knows this world, living among mortals is a safe way to live. this attitude normally only changes when meeting new people— when witches and warlocks of his family’s past show up on the beauchamp doorstep but goes away after he’s introduced.
expressing anything now is obviously different than before— before in asgard he attacked first, asked questions later. that’s not how it can work in the mortal world obviously and though he still struggles with it he knows it’ll get easier with time.
⛧◟.•°* @FIIGHTCR / 42 DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS.the rest is…
14. ANSWERED !15. what kind of inner life do they have — rich and imaginative? calculating and practical? full of doubts and fears? does it find any sort of outlet in their lives?
freddie’s a little bit of everything. obviously and like stated above in asgard when he was younger— before the war and rebellion— life was good. he was very carefree and that showed. he (despite saying he wanted nothing more than sleep) loved going to ayre beach. he loved running around getting into trouble with his friends. it changed though. he became fearful for his life and worried of his grandfather’s power. he worried what he would do to him. it lead for a lot of sleepless nights. and to be honest, he still has a lot of those nights. he’s not sure if that internal fear of wondering if his grandfather can reach him will ever go away. especially given someone like tarkoff was able to get to him. god only knows how many other people out there are loyal to his grandfather.when it comes to outlets and ways of letting go he’ll generally focus on magic. weather it’s reading his mother’s collection of spell books or playing with potions it’s the most calming thing to him because it’s the one thing he knows he can control or rather control as much as one person can when it comes to magic. he also will hike. or take a run. he’s already very big into the idea of working out and exercise and sees it as a good way to let go.
16. do they dream? what are those dreams like?
freddie doesn’t really sleep a lot. more often then not he spends the nights tossing and turning. he’s actually more comfortable on the couch then his own bed if he’s asked. the rare nights he does sleep though most of his dreams are about when things where better. when his father was alive, when he and his family still lived in asgard. it’s what gave him comfort while he was there as well. dreaming of them. he wishes he could have more dreams, but more often than not he has nightmares.
17. are they more shaped by nature or nurture — who they are, or what has happened to them? how have these shaped who they’ve become as a person?
oh sweet christ, i could write a book. first and foremost freddie is shaped by nurture. unlike his sisters freddie wasn’t raised with his mother (or a couple hundred years with both his mother and father). he didn’t have Wendy around either. he had his grandfather. a man driven by power and paranoia. a man that tried to kill him more times than freddie could actually count. still, the nature part of him— the dna and genes created by his parents kept him kind. kept him gentle.i belive more than anything that had he not sided with his grandfather, had he stayed with his family his everything would have been different. it’s a big reason why after everything goes down at the end of season two he goes and travels. he wants to find out who he is without his grandfather because it’s something that has defined him for more years than he likes to admit. it’s why when he’s in east end he finally uses his gift, his powers for good by volunteering at the fire department.
18. what kind of person could they become in the future? what are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? what paths would you especially like to see, and why?
back to the whole nature or nurture concept and the part i touched on above about if he grew up with his family: freddie like anyone else is capable of change it’s something he proved by trying to save ingrid. by finally picking his mother’s side and being willing to end his grandfather so i without a doubt belive that after everything is all said and done that he would become a better person. it would take time but he could and ultimately would do it.his biggest consequences i feel will be more internally. he beats himself up a lot about all he’s done— granted it was all done with the best of intentions but it’s now the fact he has to live with it. it’s not only guilt for things he did when he was in asgard either but the guilt of his father’s death. the guilt of what happens to wendy as well falls on him he feels. at least until she is brought back.i think paths i want to see him take too would mostly be just the whole concept of a road to redemption. he wants to get back into his mother’s good graces as well as his sisters. a big thing he also wants to do is find a way back to asgard. if only to try and clean up the mess his grandfather made. the mess he helped make.

Memories
A Cralt (Crowley/Halt) fic
Summary
Halt O'Carrick liked mornings. Not mornings in itself, but the calmness that came with it, before the world started to wake up around him. He liked the feeling of being able to just lie in his bed as the sun rose and turned the world from night to day. It was at this time of day that he felt like he could let everything go. He could let his walls fall and allow himself to really think about everything and anything.
This morning he had memories on his mind. Memories of his family, his friends and how he met the man that was sleepning soundly beside him.

Halt looked at Crowley's peaceful face for a moment before his gaze fell on his right index finger and the tiny scar that could be seen on the fingertip. A scar that he had gotten as a promise ten years ago.
~~~~ (14 years old)
"Won't it hurt?" asked Ferris, a watchful eye on the knife, the piece of paper and the cloth that was lying on the table between them.
"Ofcourse it will hurt!" sighed Halt as he picked up the knife. "But remember thatit was you who wanted us to do this!"
"I know, but that was before I remembered that I'm afraid of blood!" Ferris responded, sounding almost desperate. Halt put the knife back on the table and took his twins hands in his, looking Ferris straight in the eyes.
"Ferris, we will just make a super tiny cut on the tip of our right index finger, drop three drops of blood on the paper, swear the oath and then we will be done and put a paiste* on it." Halt said, doing his best to calm the younger twin.
"Daidi* will be mad when he sees it!" mumbled Ferris quietly, the fear in his coffee brown eyes slowly fading at Halt's reasuring words.
"Don't worry, I'll take the blame. He won't belive us anyway if we say it was your idea and he's probably already looking for a reason to yell at me again." sighed Halt as he gave his brother's hands a gentle squeeze, before letting go of the left hand and reach for the knife again. He looked Ferris in the eye, silently asking if was ready and when his brother nodded, he carefully placed the knife to Ferris's skin and made a tiny cut. Blood broke through and they let three drops land on the paper before Halt picked up the cloth, ripped it in two, wrapped Ferris's finger with one of them and cleaned the knife before repeating the process on himself. He then picked up the paper with the blood on in his left hand, grabbed his twin's left hand and started their oath.
"I got your back. You got mine..."
"I'll help you out. Anytime..."
"To see you hurt, to see you cry..."
"Makes me weep, and wanna die..."
"And if we agree to never figth..."
"It wouldn't matter, who is wrong or right..."
"If a broken heart, needs a mend..."
"I'll be right there, till the end..."
"If your cheeks are wet, from drops of tears..."
"Don't worry, let go of your fears..."
"Hand in hand, love is sent..."
"We'll be brothers...Till the end!"
~~~~
Halt smiled at the memory, a smile that turned sad when he remembered how their father had reacted and how little he had seen of Ferris these past years since he moved from Ireland to UK. And Caitlyn, his sweet, charming and incredibly sly little sister.
~~~~ (15 years old)
Halt was just walking around at home, listening to instrumental music in his headphones, when he saw Caitlyn peek around a corner.
"What are you up to this time?" he asked, unconsciously using his "Big Brother Voice" as Cait and Ferris called it, and Caitlyn immediately spun around and gave him her most innocent smile.
"Nothing!" she responded, just a little bit too fast. Halt simply raised an eyebrow and looked at her. She could fool most people with her sweet and innocent looking smile and eyes but not Halt. She had tried many times and failed all of them. It almost made him belive that she was making mischief just to see if she could hide it from him.
"Why do I get the feeling tha..." before he could finish what he was saying, there was a surprised yelp from around the corner and Caitlyn started to giggle. She stoped immediately when their father came around said corner, angry eyes falling on his eldest and youngest children, locking on Halt.
"HALT O'CARRICK, CÉARD SA DIABHAL A CHEAPANN TÚ TÚ AG DÉANAMH?" he screamed and Halt felt his blood run cold.
"Ach athair..." Caitlyn tried to tell him that Halt hadn't done anything but he wouldn't listen and just told her to be quiet and go to her room.
As Halt saw her walk away he braced himself and could only hope that his father would keep it verbal this time. But it seemed like that wasn't his father's plan as he raised his hand. Halt didn't move, knowing that it would only make it worse, but he didn't react in anyother way either as the open hand struck him like it had done so many times before.
`As long as he stays away from them, I will take every stike he deals´
That evening, Halt spent almost two hours telling Caitlyn that it was fine, that it didnt really hurt, that it wasn't her fault while she was crying hysterically in his arms, apologizing for what their father had done to him because of what SHE had done. She may be a sly prankster but she never wanted anyone else to get the blame for her pranks. Especially not Halt, who already got yelled at almost everyday. ~~~~
His hand had gone to his cheek when he remembered how his father treated him. But it was okay. By taking the blame, he could make sure that Ferris and Caitlyn didnt have to go through the same thing. They where often mad at him for doing it but he didn't care. Their parents had always thought that it was Halt anyway and the abuse hadn't scared him or broken him down. It rather seemed like it had made him stronger and it ahd made him sure of one thing. He would do everything in his power to not become like his parents. It was after all they who made Halt decide to move to another country, one of the best decisions he have ever made.
He was 18 when he moved into his new apartment, not far from school. It was a very popular area for students to live in, due to the close distanse to the school and the cheap prices.
Halt had moved in a week after summer break started, meaning that most of the apartments stod empty as those who lived in them had left for the summer. That had given Halt the time to get used to his new surroundings and get to know some of the students that had stayed over the summer. He still felt amazed at how fast he had become friends with Berrigan, Rodney, Pauline and the other students in his apartment building. He had gotten to know them during the first week in his new home and as the summer had gone by, more and more of the students had returned and Halt had somehow just fit into that groupe of friends, like the last piece of a puzzle, and it had felt natural for all of them from the beginning.
But his most presious memory from that summer was when he met Crowley.
~~~~ (18 years old)
Music flowed through the air and all around Halt's apartment as he was making dinner to himself. It was a slow and calm tune, probably an instrumental version of some love song. Halt preferred to listen to instrumental songs, because the music wasn't being ruined by singing in them, and as he sat down to eat, a familar tune started. Before he knew it, he was singing the lyrics and letting his own, soft voice drift out through his open window.
"Tale as old as time True as it can be Barely even friends Then somebody bends Unexpectedly"
Just as he was about to sing the next part, a slightly deeper voice started to sing outside of his window. He rose up from the table to see who it was.
"Just a little change Small to say the least"
Sandy red hair, hazel eyes and a happy smile met Halt's gaze as he looked out the window and the stranger continued.
"Both a little scared Neither one prepared Beauty and the beast"
~~~~
By that time, Halt already knew that he was attracted to both men and women. He wasn't bi or gay, he just didn't think that gender made any differens if the feelings were true.
Now, six years after their first meeting, five years after their first date and two years after moving in together, Halt just laid in their shared bed, remembering the past, as his, yes his, Crowley slowly woke up.
"Good morning my Clover." yawned Crowley and Halt rolled his eyes at the nickname, to pleased about life at the moment to complain.
"Mil maidin mhaith." Halt responded as Crowley's hand traced the hickeys that he had placed on Halt's throat the night before.
"I really have to learn more irish!" Crowley said quietly.
"To me, it's enough with `Is breá liom tú´ and `Is féidir liom´." Halt mumbled, making Crowley sincker as he placed a soft kiss on the golden ring he had given Halt the night before. The ring on the left ring finger.
How to make your PC parts last longer.
Hey guys, how are y’all doing?, today I bring you something that I belive is really important for all of you to know.
Todays topic is, How to make your PC parts last longer, as I’ve said before, this is a very important topic so lets get right into it, but first let me tell you about our sponsor, AudioVookers, with AudioVookers you can get a ton of books at a great price, also AudioVookers has a huge variety of books to choose from, and even better, you can get a discount of 15% on your first 5 books with the code “WeDon´tHaveASponsor”
Something that happens from time to time when a PC reaches the 3 or 4 year mark is that the PC starts to get slower or even turning off for no aparent reason from time to time, and seeing that actually most of my friends got to this point and have the problems I just mentioned I thought it would be a good idea to make this guide.
One of the main problems for component failure is actually that the PC part is way too deteriorated, this happens for a couple of reasons but the most common one is overheating, when a component overheats it starts deteriorate faster and this tends to end in the problems mentioned before so our first lesson or solutions is Proper Cooling and Airflow in components and cases. Now, realistically speaking the only component that can get it´s cooling problems directly upgraded is the CPU, it is true that the GPU can get watercooling upgrades and that Motherboards sometimes have integrated fans these solutions are not actually viable unless you have money (for the better motherboard or the Watercooling equipment) or are somewhat good at building PC parts (for mounting the Water cooling equipment), now that everything is clear lets get back to the main topic, CPU cooling, there are two options, Air Cooling or Water Cooling, I recomend air cooling because it’s not actually that expensive and a good CPU Fan can do the job almost as well as the water cooler with the added benefit of not having to mount a radiator that takes extra space, my personal recomendation for Air Coolers is the Corsair Hyper 212, it has an amazing cooling capacity and it costs approximately 45 dollars.
Next thing is propper Airflow in the PC, this can be easily done by simply adding more fans to the case (if it supports it) and putting them in the correct orientations (this can be done depending on your personal preferences, I simply suggest not putting all of the fans for Intake or exhaust because it is actually worse for the pc).
And last but not least, Propper PC cleaning, a simple yet very important task because keeping your PC dust free does help quite a lot in making it last longer, for this we only need a can of compressed air, open your PC and start using the can, aim at the parts and use short bursts of air.
That would be all for today guys, thanks for stoping by and reading todays blog, any suggestions please leave them in the comments and also let me know if you liked it.
Be seeing y’all.
