Character Opinion Meme: Ciel from Tsukihime and Melty Blood

Possibly the most underrated heroine of Tsukihime. I’ve got no idea what people dislike so much about Ciel, she’s pretty bangin’. Hardened warrior, sass machine, overprotective senpai, and hilariously addicted to curry, she’s always a delight to have onscreen.

Do you like moe-types? Cause she’s moe af.

Would you prefer the cold motherfucker who can kick your ass? She got that too.

Or maybe you’re into funny types?

She’s pretty versatile as they come.

hogwarts house: gryffindor | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff

This one’s pretty difficult. She’s a viable Ravenclaw. She’s supremely talented in the arts of might and magic, so much so that she’s leagues above even genius Rin Tohsaka, though purposely doesn’t explore her talents and strives for her full potential because of her deep self-loathing.

She could also be Slytherin, what with her cloak and dagger job making her a master of cunning and deceit. She’s become an expert lone wolf, in her world you always have to look out for number 1 after all, but her sense of self-preservation is absolutely zero. Zilch. Nadda. She wants to die. Her self-loathing over her own supernatural, powerful body is a big obstacle to her being a Slytherin.

In the end, I think she absolutely deserves to be part of Gryffindor. Time and again in Tsukihime, she displays truly astounding courage. Even when considering her wish to die, her bravery isn’t written as the suicidal urgings of someone with nothing to lose, but as someone willing to do anything and everything to protect what she loves.

When Arcueid, God-Queen of the higher vampires, is on a bloodlusted rampage, even the bravest vampire hunter would flee. Arcueid is legendary, no one can even scratch her, much less stop her when she’s raring to kill. Ciel is terrified, to the point where Shiki notes how much her fingers are shaking at the thought of fighting that monster. But does she hesitate? No. She goes right into battle, completely unprepared, and does so with a smile. She tells Shiki beforehand that she wants to do this. That she wants to be his protector, even if it meant fighting something that eldritch immortals themselves don’t want to fuck with.

When Roa sets up a trap for Shiki Tohno, she throws down her weapons and surrenders if it meant Roa would leave Shiki alone. Of course he doesn’t, he deals Shiki a deadly blow and proceeds to torture Ciel slowly and oh so painfully. Anyone seeing their loved one bleeding out while having swords stuck through their ribs would go mad, but she doesn’t break. She’s defiance incarnate. She speaks Shiki’s name over and over again, believing if his soul could hear her calling for him, he wouldn’t cross over to death. When Roa realizes to his horror that its somehow fucking working, he stops mocking Shiki and starts attacking Ciel. He rips up her throat, he sticks blades into her skull, she’s screaming and convulsing, but not once does she stop calling his name, not once does Roa even come close to breaking her. She is Shiki’s protector and absolutely no amount of terror or torture could overcome that.

best quality: As I’ve stated earlier, Ciel is defiance. Everything about her from her inability to die to her unbreakable will to even the comedy bits where she fights over Shiki with Arcueid always portrays her as someone who absolutely does not care what the odds of success are, if she needs to do it, she will.

She is one of the leading agents of the catholic church for example, despite being a woman in one of the most famously patriarchal organizations in history. Even Caren Ortensia, an experienced demon hunter, can only ever be the assistant of an exorcist. Ciel? She’s part of the church’s super secret burial agency, where they hunt anything and everything that threatens humanity.

Because Tumblr won’t let me upload any more photos, go google Ciel’s big fucking gun / transformed unicorn / supernatural slaying machine, the Seventh holy Scripture. Go on, i’ll wait.

Back? Good. It takes ten men to even lift that. Ten. Meanwhile Ciel just casts fortifying magic on her arms (Yes, the same shitty magic Shirou uses to just barely get by), and starts swinging around that thing like its made of paper mache.

She’s just defiance. Don’t tell her what to do.

worst quality: She stinks of curry 24/7. Have you ever had a friend who loves their curry? I have, you do NOT appreciate the curry smell. Also she’s a bit of a control freak, a schemer, and a massive glutton.

ship them with: Arcueid. Fuck Shiki, Arcueid and Ciel would make for a far better couple. Their frenemy relationship is adorable, with Arcueid endlessly teasing Ciel and Ciel being unable to hold back her sass. Also if they ever did get together, they’d literally be the most powerful pairing the Nasuverse has ever seen.

brotp them with: Arcueid and Shiki. I mean, duh. She would also be SUCH a good partner for Heroic Spirit EMIYA, in fact Nasu’s said before that Archer got his red coat as a gift from her when they worked together once. How awesome is that? HOW COME WE’VE NEVER SEEN THIS STORY?

needs to stay away from: Akiha. But then again she needs to stay away from everyone outside the Tohno Mansion when she’s that possessive.
