"I'm real when it's useful."
"On my world it means hope."
"I don't think you've ever known a woman like me."
"I'm not broken, and I'm not alone."
"It's not who I am underneath but what I do that defines me."
"Fear is a tool."
"Your kid was one of them, Dad, one of the best of the best."
Barry turned to look in front of him and what he saw was something he had hoped to never see again as long as he lived. A yellow figure with glowing red eyes ran straight at him, punching him square in the jaw and sending yellow lightning coursing through Barry's entire body, knocking him into the speedforce. Around him he saw more shapes and faces as he descended lower and lower.
"I cherish peace with all my heart, I don't care how many men, women and children I have to kill to get it."
“So, you have the blood of the Old Gods in you. The Old Gods died.”
“...I will rebuild Krypton atop his bones.”
Barry yelled as he fell deeper and deeper into the depths of the speed force.
“I’m Not A Monster. I’m Just Ahead Of The Curve.”
"If You Are Justice, Please Do Not Lie. What Is The Price For Your Blind Eye?"
"You can’t stop me, Flash. And you never will."
Barry grunted and hit the cement hard, trying to regain his footing. He looked up at the yellow portal, and it closed leaving him deserted in... this place.
He noticed something familiar about it, the street lamps and the cars…
He was in his childhood neighborhood.
Barry walked up to his porch and opened the front door to his old house, the memories flooded back to him all in an instant. His father chased him around the table, and his mother...
He shook his head and flopped onto his couch sighing, and passing out, it had been a long day and he needed to rest.
———
Red lightning flooded his dreams. In the midst of the chaos he saw the yellow outline and glowing red eyes. They looked familiar.
Something dark was at work.
———
The scream startled him upright, before him a sight he thought he would never lay his eyes upon again.
Nora Allen stood with her hands over her mouth.
“You aren’t supposed to be home from college until tomorrow Barry.” She hugged him and he smelled the scent of roses from his childhood.
“Mom?” He felt tears well and he gripped her tight.
Barry didn’t know how he was just happy she was alive.
“My monkey, it’s good to see you.”
“Yeah.. you too Mom.” Barry wiped his tears and felt a strange feeling.
———
Stargirl looked around the rooftop of Wayne Tower.
“Do you see him?” She asked.
“Nothing,” Wildcat replied.
Stargirl sighed and looked at the edge of Wayne Tower’s roof, something caught her eye. A purple and green flower lay on the roof’s edge peacefully.
“Come take a look at this,” she waved over Wildcat.
The two heroes leaned in closer and Stargirl turned the flower over revealing a small note.
Have a laugh, it’s the least you can do!
Stargirl gasped but before she could toss away the flower it dispersed a massive cloud of green smoke. The smoke filled both their lungs and they felt a tingle inside their bodies. They looked at eachother and involuntarily both smiled bursting into laughter and squealing as they felt their entire bodies flooded with tickling sensations.
The two women screamed with laughter thrashing on the ground, tears flooded from their eyes as they suffocated from the immense tickle flooding the nerves.
The green smoke caught flame and exploded atop Wayne Tower, setting the building ablaze.
———
Barry cackled as his mother’s fingers pressed into his side.
“MOHOM STAHAAP!”
“I see my monkey is just as ticklish as ever!” Nora smiled.
The T.V. 's channel changed from the regular coverage about a growing conflict in Europe to a breaking news story. His mother looked up from her squealing son and furrowed her brow reaching for the remote and turning on the volume.
“Breaking news this evening, I’m Lois Lane reporting live from under Wayne Tower where it looks like an explosion has taken place and- Lois looked up as the building crumbled beginning to fall, everyone screamed running to get away from the debris.
Barry stood and looked at his mother.
“I don’t know what’s happening but I have to fix this somehow.” He kissed his mother’s cheek and put on his flash ring in his pocket.
“Barry? What are you talking about?” His mother tried to hold his shoulder but he shrugged her off.
“It’s my duty as a member of The Justice League,” Barry attempted to take off running but he found himself on the floor hurt.
“Are you okay?” Nora helped him up.
“Where are my powers?” He grumbled looking himself over.”
“Barry you aren’t making any sense!”
“I can’t explain right now mom the Justice League needs me,” Barry looked at his ring but frowned seeing something off about it. He clicked it and it began to open.
“What’s the Justice League?” His mother asked and Barry turned to her frowning. The ring burst open and Barry expected to see his red suit inside but that wasn’t the case.
On the floor of the Allen home a yellow and red inverted suit of The Flash lay motionless.
No inverted wasn’t the right word, it’s more like…
“Reversed…” Barry said aloud then looked to his mother.
He saw a vision of the yellow and red figure behind his mother and blood sprayed his face as a vibrating hand passed through Nora Allen’s chest.
Barry screamed, bolting upright once more.
“You’re alright Monkey,” his mother held him.
“You passed out, but you’re okay.” She smiled.
Barry shot up grabbing the suit and stuffing it into a bag.
“Mom I have to go, I don’t know when I will come back but there’s something I have to figure out.” He hugged her tight.
She sighed, obviously annoyed he was leaving but loved him too much to say no so she hugged him and kissed his cheek.
“Be safe Monkey, and remember not to worry so much. It’s okay to have something be out of your control.” Nora Allen let go and Barry nodded to her throwing his pack over his shoulder, he headed out the door.
After taking a cab to the subway Barry made his way under to the ticket booth.
“Destination?” The teller asked glumly.
“Gotham City,” Barry smiled while taking the ticket.
———
The stench of alcohol was present on Batman's breath, the thug underneath his boot screamed and pleaded with him to stop but he didn't care.
"Mercy please!" Cried The Thug.
The boot stamped into the thug's head, blood spilling onto the sidewalk and ending his life, Batman walked away leaving the body to the Gotham rats.
The Caped Crusader begrudgingly made his way to the small entrance beneath the hill of all but abandoned Wayne Manor.
Bats circled above him and he grimaced beginning taking off the cowl but stopped. The slightest of a noise behind him caused his reflexes to kick into place and he aimed the shotgun mounted on his hip at the intruder.
"How the fuck did you get in here?" He demanded.
"I'm glad you seem to be... somewhat normal." The stranger held up his hands.
"I don't ask twice," Batman cocked the shotgun.
"Barry Allen, you may or may not know who I am, but I know you never turn your back on helping your own people." The man named Barry took a cautious step closer.
"Someone blew up your tower and you aren't curious as to why?"
"That hasn't been my company for years, that's no longer who I am." He was annoyed and wanted this "Barry Allen" to leave so he could get drunk in peace.
"That's not true, I know you still care for this city Bruce." The name made him boil and Batman lurched forward grabbing Barry around the neck.
"Bruce?" He snarled.
"Bruce Wayne has been dead for over 20 years." Batman began to remove his cowl revealing the sweat clad hair and 5 o'clock shadow.
"You're not Bruce... you're his father." Barry's eyes widened.
"If you give me a chance I can explain everything."
Thomas Wayne narrowed his eyes and set down the shotgun, taking a flash of Whiskey and downing it in a few gulps.
He set it back down and turned back to Barry who was waiting for an answer.
"Talk," Thomas grunted.
———
"Проснись, инопланетная мразь!" The rough voice yelled into the intercom.
She opened her eyes and felt the pain around her. Masked workers entered her chamber and opened a box taking out something with a pair of metal forceps.
The stone radiated darkness and was a shade of something unknown to her. It made her feel funny and she smiled uncontrollably as they brought it closer.
"N-no please not again!"
The worker pressed the stone into her belly and she screeched and laughed wildly, throwing her head back hoping someday this nightmare would end and they would kill her. But for now she stared up at her chained wrists, laughing and screaming as the kryptonite with no color tickled her mercilessly.
———
"My son is alive in your world?" Thomas finally asked after Barry was through explaining.
Barry nodded.
Thomas Wayne was speechless and felt an enormous weight on his chest begin to lift.
"I already know who committed the bombing of Wayne Tower, which is why I'm not investigating."
Barry raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"That night it wasn't how it happened in your timeline, Bruce didn't survive..." He stopped for a moment as if trying to force himself to relive the nightmare.
"We both survived, me and Martha," Thomas put his head in his hands and pushed away his grief.
"She couldn't handle it and it drove her insane," Thomas thought back to the tears of his wife and recounted her crouching beside his son's lifeless body. Then he remembered when she started laughing, and laughing smearing his blood on her lips and grinning widely at him.
Barry stared at him and opened his mouth.
"She became The Joker..."
"A name she took from an old vigilante back in the day." He started to walk off back upstairs to the manor.
"You're going to let her get away with it?" But deep-down Barry knew why he wouldn't go after her. He chased after him, trying to convince him of an alternative.
"Can you at least let me use your stuff to try to find someone who can help me?"
Thomas sighed and nodded passing Barry.
Barry looked back at the large Bat-computer, he sat down and got to work. Without super speed he read through all the pages in real time, it was also the first time in a while he began to feel tired, eventually he fell asleep at the desk.
———
His old house was a mess of lightning with his mother in the middle, his younger self screaming and the yellow figure's hand plunging through the chest of Nora Allen.
He screamed, falling to his knees.
———
Thomas looked at the old photo of him and what used to be his wife and son letting tears fall.
He got out a pen and began to write.
———
Barry once again bolted upright and sighed, rubbing his eyes. He saw a file and a cup of coffee. Along with a note that read:
You're Welcome
-T.W.
Barry looked at the file labeled:
Проект Т.К.
He sipped the coffee and began reading.
———
Barry found Thomas upstairs cleaning one of his guns.
"What's the plan for you then?" Thomas asked.
"There is something keeping me from using my powers and going home and I have to figure out what it is," He set the file down and opened it to a location of a base in the arctic.
"We need to figure out how to find Superman."
"We?" Thomas asked.
"If you don't help me I can't get back and save my team including your son." Barry pointed to the base asserting his point.
"The answer is somehow here I know it."
Thomas sighed, clicked together his shotgun and cocked it.
"I guess I'm taking you to the arctic."
———
“Where are you kiddo?” Henry Allen playfully called roaming the halls. From within the closet, his son Barry giggled and slowly opened the door to find another hiding spot.
He crept away but as he did, he found himself scooped up by his father.
“Oh no you don’t!” His father slung the child over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
“We got a runner!” Henry called to Nora tickling his sons sides.
“DAHAAD STOP!” Barry yelped, squirming.
“No way, kiddo. You’re just too adorable.” Henry tossed Barry onto the couch, attacking his belly. He squealed and cackled, squirming underneath his father.
“Alright, you two.” Nora called entering from the kitchen.
“Dinner time?” Barry asked excitedly.
“Just about. Why don’t you go wash up?" Nora patted her son on the head and Barry ran off to go wash his hands.
As he dried them on the towel, a loud scream erupted from the other room. Barry ran out into his living room, but what he saw horrified him to his core.
Nora was surrounded by yellow and red lightning. Henry lay out cold on the floor. Barry didn’t know what was happening.
“Mom!” Barry yelled through the streaks.
An explosion knocked both of them back as the lightning stopped. Above Nora stood a yellow figure with red glowing eyes, and it seemed as if his entire body vibrated.
The figure looked at him then grabbed his mother by the neck and held her in front of him.
“Feel the pain of what I take from you today, throughout all time.” A grizzled deep voice emanated from the figure and before Barry could say anything the hand of the figure crushed through Nora’s chest spraying Barry with blood.
“You can never defeat me, Flash.” The figure turned into a streak of lightning and his mother lay dead on the floor.
“Mom…" Barry crawled over to his mother's side.
“Barry…" his mother choked through blood.
———
“...Barry.” He felt a sharp punch to the shoulder startling him awake.
“What?” Barry grimaced then looked out the window of the rusty Batwing in amazement.
Arctic snow stretched vast miles, and on the horizon an enormous structure of black metal lay.
“You have a parachute in your seat. Pull the lever on my signal,” Batman called from the front.
“What about you?” Barry asked. Batman only smiled.
The floor beneath the batwing opened and the cold hit Barry like a pipe. Batman dropped from his seat and Barry reluctantly did the same. It was difficult for him to breathe with the arctic air and he pulled on the strap to his parachute.
The chute opened, and Barry felt himself propelled upwards and slowed down. Beside him, a giant bat-shaped man glided with him towards the ground below.
Barry dropped onto the ground, Batman struck a landing beside him that Barry had seen his Batman do several times.
He smiled.
“What’s so funny?”
“Nothing,” Barry shook his head and the two hiked towards the facility in the distance.
By the time they reached the outer wall, Barry was freezing. Batman pulled out his grapple hook and shot it up onto the wall.
“What about me?” Barry asked.
Batman grabbed him and before Barry could protest they were traveling high off the ground and Barry had to keep from yelling.
“You throw up on the suit, I’m dropping you." Batman teased. Barry nodded.
The two climbed up onto the rim of the outer wall and looked at the sight below them.
“What the hell is that?” Batman asked.
A massive round ball lay at the center of the grounds. Guards patrolled the area around it.
“So how do we take them out?” Barry looked over but saw Batman was gone.
“Great,” Barry made his way down the stairs but was stopped by one of the guards.
“Остановка! Предупреждение о вторжении!” Yelled the guard.
Barry eye’s widened as he saw a black figure lower fro
The ceiling behind him and dragged him up into the shadows.
“Yep, that is pretty terrifying,” Barry remarked, continuing to run down the stairs.
By the time Barry made his way to the round object in the center most of the guards lay unconscious around him.
Batman dropped beside him startling Barry.
“God, you’re worse than Bruce.” Barry mumbled, cranking open the door to the object.
Inside a red glowing light radiated. An extremely skinny girl with short dark hair was chained to the ceiling.
“This isn’t Clarke,” Barry scrambled to get her down with the help of Batman.
“What did they do to you?” He looked her in the eyes and picked her up. The alarm sounded as guards poured in holding their guns up to the three.
As they were about to fire Batman stepped in front, the bullets ricocheted against his caped and helmet hitting the guards and knocking them down.
“Lets go,” Batman took off followed by Barry running up the stairs. Batman quickly grappled up to the rim of the roof, where the sun peeked above the horizon. Several guards stood with their guns trained on them.
Barry and the woman were knocked to the ground and held at gunpoint.
“No wait!” Barry pleaded.
The woman’s hand twitched a bit.
“Batman what do we do?” Barry yelled.
“We do what we can.” He looked up and pointed to the floating Kryptonian woman, she crashed against the ground punching one guard into a wall and sending another flying into the group of them. Bullets rained against her but had no effect. Batman seized the opportunity catching the rest of the guards by surprise from behind and making quick use of them.
The woman breathed heavily as she floated back to the ground looking at Barry. She fell over into the snow.
“Get her into the Batwing,” Batman called to Barry.
———
“Order in the court,” the gavel banged and the room quieted.
Barry sat behind his dad and took his hand looking him in the eyes.
“Has the jury reached a verdict?” The judge asked.
“We have your honor,” the foreman rose up and took out a paper reading it to the room.
“We, the jury, find the defendant Henry Allen guilty of murder,” the foreman's words struck Barry and he gripped his dad’s hand tighter.”
Police grabbed Henry and started to take him away but Barry held on.
“Dad, no!” Barry cried.
“Son, let go, it'll be okay.” Henry smiled.
———
The winds howled against the windows and Barry stared at the sky below him.
“You okay?” Batman asked.
“Why was she there and not Superman,” Barry asked, gesturing to the sleeping woman beside him.
“Hard to say, but you can’t answer my question with a question,” Batman countered.
Barry sighed.
“I need to figure out how to get my powers back, so I can go home.”
“Your powers were by accident.”
“Then we recreate the accident.”
Batman shook his head.
“What if it doesn’t work?”
Barry turned back to the window.
“It has to work.”

“You’re going to want to see this,” called a scientist.
Arthur Curry walked over to the panel observing the readings of Captain Atom.
“Off the charts,” He smirked.
“A weapon like this…” the scientist began
“Could win the war.” Arthur turned to the window and looked down below.
Below lay the missing Nathaniel Adam, screaming and howling.

The desert was hotter than Tony expected. He sipped his scotch, feeling the cold drink relieving his throat.
“Why is no one saying anything, I feel like I’m under arrest.”
One of the soldiers turned.
“Sorry Mr. Stark, we're all just really nervous.”
“I don’t blame you; I am pretty great.” Tony smiled and took another sip. An explosion blew up the military vehicle in front of them. Their car stopped abruptly as the soldiers ran out, yelling and firing their guns.
“Stay in the car!” A soldier yelled and was immediately shot in the head. Tony needed to get out of there. He fumbled for the door and crawled onto the sand. A bombshell landed right in front of him and on the side was printed two words. Stark Industries. Tony gasped and ran for it but the shell exploded, and he was hit in the chest with bits of shrapnel. Gasping for air Tony noticed a pool of blood form on his shirt- and lost his consciousness.
36 hours earlier…
“Tony Stark, CEO. of Stark industries is a revolutionary in the tech industry,” Called the man at the podium.
“A personal friend of mine and mentor, colonel James Rhodes, am honored to present this award to Mr. Tony Stark.”
He looked around.
“Tony?”
Tony rolled the dice across the board and cheered along with the crowd gathered around him. A woman held onto his chest and was grinning. “You are unbelievable,” Rhodey said behind him.
“I know,” Tony winked and sipped his drink.
“Why weren’t you at the ceremony for this?” Rhodey gestured to the award in his hand.
“Business is, as business does!” Tony smiled, squeezing her side, eliciting a pitchy giggle. She groaned, leaving. He turned back and called.
“Don’t be late for the presentation tomorrow!” Tony wasn’t listening- he was laughing with the crowd and drinking again. Rhodey shook his head and stormed out.
Most of the night was a blur for Tony. he remembers taking the woman home and waking up before her. He snuck out and crept down to his garage. Pepper Potts had soon come down breaking the news that she left.
“How’d she take it?” Tony asked.
“Like a champ, you are supposed to be halfway around the world right now.”
“Oh, why’s that?”
Pepper looked annoyed as usual.
“The weapons presentation!” She sighed.
“Damn it,” Tony stood and made his way to the door, with pepper following behind him.
Tony walked up the steps to his plane greeted by Rhodey.
“Three hours late,” Rhodey shook his head.
“The plane is mine and it takes off when I need it to,” Tony climbed inside followed by Rhodey.
- - - - -
Tony stared up at the mountains way off in the distance.
“My dad had a saying,” Tony turned to look at the military buyers standing behind him.
“Peace means having a bigger stick than the other guy, he liked weapons and preferably only the ones you had to fire once!”
The missiles launched at the mountains, blowing them to bits.
“For your consideration, The Jericho.”
The shockwave sent chills through everyone blowing dust up everywhere.
Tony smiled and everyone clapped.
- - - - -
He gasped, tasting plastic and opened his eyes.
He felt the breathing tube in his nose and Tony saw that he was in a cave.
Tony removed the breathing tube from his nose, noticing the car battery next to him. The wires lead to his bandaged chest, Tony removing the bandages seeing a device embedded in his chest.
He gasped and touched the device and began to remove it.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” a voice rang from across the cave.
“What did you do to me?”
“I saved your life,” said the man.
“How?” Tony asked.
“This,” the man pointed to the device.
“Is an electromagnet, powered by a car battery and it keeps shrapnel from entering your heart.
Tony thought about how that could work mechanically.
A knock sounded on the cave’s metal door.
A voice in Arabic yelled and the man helped Tony to stand up.
“Put your hands on your head and stay quiet.”
The door opened and in walked several men holding guns.
“Those are my guns.”
“Hush!” Said the man next to him.
“Tony Stark!” A man who looked to be the leader walked forward and began talking in Arabic.
“He says welcome Tony Stark,” the man translated what he was saying for Tony.”
“He says that he wants you to build him a Jericho missile and then they will set you free.”
“I refuse,” Tony replied.
The one in charge scowled as the message was relayed back to him, he gave an order and two men grabbed Tony and his battery dragging him out of the cave, they brought him outside and the light hit his face. Tony blinked and covered his eyes overwhelmed with the bright burst of the sun beating down across him. He looked around, seeing that all of his weapons technology had been taken, including his guns.
“You have everything you need to build a missile,” translated the man who had saved him. Tony couldn’t let that happen. He needed an escape plan.
Tony reluctantly agreed to help them, and they brought him back into the cave.
- - - - -
“What the hell was that?” Tony asked the man.
“They call themselves The Ten Rings and they have been around for centuries,” The man explained.
“That is your legacy, Stark.” He helped Tony sit down.
“I can’t have that be my legacy.”
“Then I suggest you think of a way to get out of here,” He smiled.
Tony worked that day on a better replacement for the electromagnet on his heart.
“What do I call you?” Tony asked the man.
“My name is Yinsen,” he said.
Tony nodded and messed with wires.
“You have a family?” He asked.
“I do,” replied Yinsen.
The device Tony was working on lit up.
“What is this?” Asked Yinsen.
“A miniaturized arc reactor,” Tony held it up.
Yinsen helped Tony install it into his chest that evening.
“My plan is to build a suit made of iron,” Tony explained.
“A lot better than a missile,” Yinsen smiled.
“For me not for them,” Tony laughed.
- - - - -
The two were hard at work on the suit, making sure to hide what they were doing from their captors.
A voice at the door made them jump.
They covered their things and put their hands up.
In walked a bald man wearing a red ring on his finger, followed by the guards.
“Relax,” he said and Yinsen put his arms down followed by Tony.
“My name is Raza,” said the man.
“The bow and arrow were once the pinnacle of technology,” began Raza.
“Now today it seems whoever holds the latest Stark tech is the top of the mountain,” he stared coldly into Tony’s eyes.
“Soon that will be my mountain,” Raza stood again.
“You have 24 hours to build my missile,” he turned and left.
Tony turned to Yinsen.
“We need to get this done yesterday.”
“You think?” Yinsen agreed sarcastically.
- - - - -
The next few hours were the hardest Tony had worked, slaving over an anvil hammering the hot molten iron into place.
Tony lifted the mask off of the anvil and set it on the table in front of Yinsen who was working on wiring various electrical circuits in the arms of the suit.
It was time to get out of here.
- - - -
Putting the suit on took time, time they did not have.
Tony had the iron breastplate lowered onto him.
Yinsen helped to fasten together the few remaining parts and then he began the process of powering up the suit.
Voices yelled at the door and Yinsen ignored them.
“You need to respond!” Tony bit his lip.
“It’s Hungarian, I don’t know that language!” Stressed Yinsen.
He stuttered a word and the latch unclicked.
The door opened and the bomb wired to it exploded, setting the plan into motion. The guards on the other side were blown back against the wall of the cave.
“We are out of time,” Yinsen looked up.
He turned and gripped Tony on the shoulders.
“I’m going to go buy you some time.”
“That wasn’t the plan!” Tony yelled after him.
Yinsen ran picking up one of the guards' guns and fired off warning shots.
Tony could do nothing but wait for the suit to finish powering up.
It was at 80%, then 85%.
He hoped he wasn’t too late.
100%.
The fully suited Iron Man dropped from the rack and lumbered out of the cave.
Turning the corner, he saw several guards and the shot body of Yinsen.
“Yinsen!” Iron Man screamed.
The guards fired and the bullets deflected off of the suit striking them back and killing them.
Iron Man waddled his way over to the guards and smacked one across the face.
Another shot him in the back of the head, but the bullet ricocheted off of the helmet sending the guard to the ground.
The last guard attempted to escape but was backed into a corner by Iron Man.
He screamed and Iron Man punched him into the wall breaking his nose and sending him into the ground.
Iron Man lifted his mask becoming Tony again, and he made his way over to Yinsen.
“Come on Yinsen we got to get out of here, you got to go see your family.”
“This was always the plan. My family is dead; I am going to see them now.”
Tony’s lip quivered and he whispered a goodby to Yinsen.
“Thank you for saving my life.”
“Don’t waste it Stark,” Yinsen smiled.
Tony watched as Yinsen closed his eyes and said no more.
Tony lowered his mask and became Iron Man once again.
He stepped out of the cave and was greeted with several cocked sub machine guns.
Iron Man held his wrists out and flames erupted from them, setting several of the remaining terrorists on fire.
Iron Man pulled a cord on the suit and the rockets built in ignited. He was in the air flying away from his captivity.
The rockets went out and he fell into the hot sand below him, destroying the suit.
Tony removed the Iron Man helmet from his head and tossed it aside.
He wasn’t sure how long he walked for, he just hoped that someone would find him.
Eventually a helicopter flew above him reading U.S. MILITARY on the side and Tony waved his arms in the air screaming for the helicopter. The helicopter landed and Rhodey stepped out of it.
“Next time you ride with me!” Rhodey hugged him.
Tony was exhausted and slept most of the ride back to America.
- - - - -
He was escorted by Rhodey off of the plane.
Immediately he was wrapped up in a tight hug by Pepper.
“Good to have you back,” Pepper admitted.
“I know,” Tony smiled.
Tony got into the car with Pepper, Happy Hogan, his personal bodyguard and head security sat in the driver’s seat.
“Where to sir?” he asked.
“The hospital,” Pepper began.
“No, I'm calling a press conference but first I want a cheeseburger.”
“A press conference?” Pepper asked.
“Happy drive, cheeseburger first.” Tony commanded.
- - - - -
After stopping in a McDonald's drive-thru, they made their way to Stark industries. The press was gathered waiting for Tony to take the podium along with a face he was glad to see.
Obadiah Stane adjusted his tie and shook his hand.
“Late for your own press conference. because you had to have a cheeseburger?” Obadiah smiled, patting his protege on the back.
“Priorities Obi,” Tony bit a chunk off and took the podium.
“Hello?” he called into the microphone and the room quieted.
“I’m glad you could all join me today,” Tony stared out the glass windows.
“In captivity, I saw not only what happens when you give dangerous men weapons, I saw dangerous people in possession of my own weapons manufactured by this very company.” Tony took another bite of his burger.
“I can not have this happening, it isn’t right.”
Tony breathed in.
“Which is why effective immediately I’m shutting down all weapon manufacturing outlets until such a time as I can decide what direction this company is moving in.”
The crowd of reporters erupted into a frantic question spewing nightmare.
Obadiah nervously laughing took to the microphone reassuring the crowd.
“Look um, the biggest thing we should take away from this is that Tony is back and healthier than ever!”
Tony walked off stage followed by the crowd of press.
- - - - -
After the press was shooed away by security, Obadiah confronted Tony about the elephant in the room.
“A weapons company that does not make weapons. Sounds like a recipe for success.” Obadiah sarcastically growled.
“I saw people die at the hands of the very things I built.”
“Tony we’re ironmongers, it's what we do!”
“You’re the iron monger but I have to be something more.”
In the drama, Tony left, leaving Obadiah wiping the sweat from his balding head.
- - - - -
Back at home, Tony loaded up a hologram of the suit he had designed and used to escape.
“Jarvis you awake?”
“For you sir, always.” The A.I. companion responded.
Tony trashed several parts of the design to reduce the size.
“I need a way to reduce the overall mass to achieve the necessary capabilities of flight sustainability. Do me favor and label this file Mark II.”
“Shall I store this on the Stark Industries database server?” Asked Jarvis.
“No, I’m just not completely sure who I can trust.” Tony zoomed in on the legs of the suit.
“Private it.”
Countless redo after redo of the design followed that night, including a better made version of the miniaturized arc realtor within his chest. After that he began a final version of the engine powered boots finally having a working design in front of him Tony rubbed his eyes and stared at his masterpiece.
“Print it.”
“As you wish sir,” Jarvis replied and the inner workings of his shop began to turn.
Tony left the station for now, heading back upstairs.
On the sofa, Pepper sat typing away on her computer.
“What are you working on?” Pepper asked.
“Something big,” Tony sat down next to her. In that moment he noticed how much of a beauty she was, but brushed the thoughts away.
“They are saying things about you, that you have gone crazy.”
“Let them.”
“Obadiah is going to meet with the board in New York trying to work something out.”
“I just hope he doesn’t do anything I would or would not do.”
“That’s not a lot of options,” Pepper smirked.
For the first time that night her eyes caught his and Tony felt a connection in his chest to her. She turned red and went back to typing away on her laptop.
“It leaves only the good options,” Tony smiled and poked her in the side causing Pepper to jump.
“Don’t,” she scolded, and Tony backed off.
“Sir, the project has finished printing,” Jarvis interrupted.
“Sounds like greatness,” Tony commented, standing and heading back to the shop.
He retrieved the boots from the printing rack and set them on the desk.
“Completely powered using the Arc reactor, they should be able to make flight possible.” Jarvis remarked providing a full in depth look at the boots mechanical structure.
Tony drilled the boots on and used a temporary cord to connect them to the arc reactor.
“Alright this is flight test 1 initiating now.” Tony ignited the boots using makeshift triggers and the blast was so powerful it knocked him into the wall.
“Noted,” Tony said through the pain.
Tony then spent the next 2 hours designing adjustable handheld flight stabilizers in the form of gloves.
They printed and Tony added them to the suit.
“Flight test number two and hopefully this one isn’t as painful.” Tony let the thrusters ignite and he began to slowly lift off of the ground.
“It works!” Tony yelled and dropped back down onto the ground.
After that the rest of the suit was easier, a smaller design of the Mark I suit using Nitinol as the main base for the suit.
Through several cups of coffee and painstaking hours staring at his computer screen he finished the design for Mark II.
Fairly soon afterwards, the suit was finished.
Tony had to individually assemble and put on every part of the suit, and finished picking up the silver mask and clipping it into place.
“Run diagnostics and calibrations,” Iron Man told Jarvis.
The suit’s motors whirred and the mechanics ticked and clicked.
“Everything seems to be running and working correctly.”
“Good, then prepare for the flight test.”
“Sir might I suggest some time to run calculations.”
“No you may not, sometimes you need to run before you can walk.”
Iron Man engaged the thrusters and blasted through his garage out into the sky.
He screamed with a mix of fear and awe seeing the world below him.
“Jarvis, it's time to go up!” Iron Man yelled and began to ascend higher and higher into the sky.
“Sir the suit can not handle the atmospheric temperature changes and the suit is beginning to freeze!”
The suit was indeed beginning to freeze up and soon all Tony saw from within the suit was darkness. The thrusters began to flicker and then go out.
Tony’s screams of joy turned into screams of terror as he fell to the ground below him.
“Deploy flaps Jarvis!” Tony yelled, but Jarvis didn’t answer.
He reached to the leg of the suit and turned the dial and the flaps deployed manually, expelling the ice from the suit.
The H.U.D. came back on and everything rebooted.
“Thrusters back online sir,” Jarvis finally said.
Iron Man ignited the thrusters and flew upwards just before hitting the ground.
He cheered flying back to his house.
Iron Man aimed to land on the roof, hovering just above.
“Alright that’s good, kill power Jarvis.”
The thrusters stopped and he fell through his roof onto the floor of his garage.
The fall broke the suit apart and one of Tony’s cars.
Tony sighed but didn’t let it get him down. He got back up and made his way to his desk sitting down.
Maybe it was time he took a break.
- - - - -
Tony iced his aching head and sat on his couch turning on the television.
“I’m here at the annual charity event dinner where no one here expects an appearance from Tony Stark, our sources claim he has been bedridden for weeks since the press conference on his return.”
“Jarvis, do we have an invite to that?” Asked Tony.
“I have no record of an invitation,” Jarvis replied.
“Start a new project, label it Mark III,” Tony took a look at the car he had landed on. A nice red and yellow painted car.
“Give it some hot rod red and yellow.”
“Will do sir,”
Tony grabbed the keys to the silver sports car parked next to the one that had been destroyed.
“Don’t wait up for me,” he called, climbing into the car and zooming out of his garage.
- - - - -
Tony pulled into the event and threw his keys to one of the valet workers.
Upon seeing him, the press crowd swarmed around Tony smothering him with questions he had no desire to answer.
“Tony!” Obadiah called, waving the press off and escorting him up the steps.
“I thought you were laying low?”
“Wasn’t really my style.”
“Well can you try not to cause that much chaos; I finally have the board where I want them.”
Tony nodded and went inside.
A crowd suffocated the floor, dancing and enjoying the evening.
Tony paid them no mind and made his way over to the bar.
The Bartender asked him if he wanted anything, and Tony shook his head.
“Excuse me Mr. Stark?” A reporter approached him.
Tony turned annoyed.
“Any comment on the movement of The Ten Rings today?”
“Number one how the hell did you get in here, two what do you mean the movement of The Ten Rings?”
“These were taken earlier today,” she pulled up photos on her phone.
Tony’s eyes narrowed, they had his guns again and weapons again.
“I didn’t know that this happened.”
“It seems you have a problem that needs fixing then.”
Tony stepped outside and found Obadiah in the crowd.
“Why would a shipment of weapons be released without my knowledge, if we are dealing under the table, I need to know about it.”
Obadiah waved to the crowd and took Tony by the shoulder.
“The board felt it was in the company's best interest.”
“Who suggested it?”
“Me.” Obadiah walked off, leaving Tony standing speechless in front of a crowd of screaming reporters.
- - - - -
“Villages continue to be attacked by the terrorist group known as The Ten Rings with no sign of the military intervening any time soon.” The news report sent a bulging fury of rage in the form of a bursting vein showing in Tony’s forehead. He fastened the last bolt of the Mark III arm.
Tony stood up and aimed the repulsor.
The repulsor fired and Tony was launched backward. But yet still Tony stood up.
He fired several shots at his glass windows, making sure to keep one foot behind him.
Not a single shot missed.
Tony let the suit assemble itself onto him. The mechanism featured several robotic arms that were coded to apply and screw in the bolts assembling the suit to Tony.
The helmet lowered onto his head and once again, Tony became Iron Man.
He could feel the breeze pressing against the suit, halfway across the world in a matter of minutes. Iron Man began his descent towards the ground landing in the middle of the group's siege of a village.
Several of the soldiers were screaming and began to fire the guns at Iron Man.
The bullets deflected off of his suit until eventually the soldiers stopped firing.
“My turn.” Iron Man uttered.
He held up his repulsors and fired, knocking back the terrorists onto the ground.
Iron Man turned around and fired at the group behind him.
He turned again and was about to fire but the villagers were being held at gunpoint.
Instead, projectiles clicked open and fired from his shoulder holsters knocking back the soldiers before they could fire on the hostages.
Iron Man turned and took off before saying a word.
The sounds of giggling erupting from the shop below the house. Pepper Potts made her way down to investigate. Upon entering the shop, she found Tony lifted up by robotic arms in a red and yellow metal suit.
“Careful, that's a ticklish spot!” Tony smiled as the arm poked his side, taking off pieces of the suit.
“Oh my god,” uttered Pepper.
Tony turned his head and stared in silence.
“Let’s face it this is not the weirdest thing you have caught me doing.”
- - - - -
Obadiah shut the door to his car and buttoned his suit. The soldiers followed him up until the tent where they stayed outside.
“Welcome,” Raza shook the hand of Obadiah and pointed to the burn on his face.
“Compliments of Tony Stark.”
“Well if you had killed him when you were supposed to we wouldn’t be having this conversation.”
Raza licked his lips and looked away.
“They tell me you found it?”
“Laying scattered across the desert.” Raza answered.
“I appreciate your contribution to the company.”
“You know I can’t give you the remnants of the suit without proper payment.”
Obadiah sighed and took the ear plugs out of his pocket.
“My boss would never all-” Raza was cut off by a high pitched whirring in his ears and erupted into laughter.
“I know that I have had about enough of you and your boss so if The Mandarin wants something tell him he can come take it himself.” Obadiah stopped the whirring of the device while Raza continued to laugh.
“Don’t worry.” Obadiah put the ear plugs back into his pocket.
“It’s not permanent.”
 Obadiah left the tent.
“Pack up the suit and execute any witnesses.”
Obadiah’s guards then did as they were told.
“Rhodey, can you come by?” Tony said into the phone.
“If you pay for the plane then yeah,” laughed Rhodey on the other end of the line.
“See you in a couple hours friend,” Tony hung up but was immediately greeted with a whirring in his ear making every inch of his skin crawl.
A tickle all over.
Tony burst into laughter.
“You remember this?” Obadiah hung over him like a dark cloud.
Through the tears and his laughs Obadiah spoke in a cold tone and held up a device.
“You think you are in charge; you aren’t in charge.” Obadiah hooked the device to Tony’s chest and removed his arc reactor.
“You’re just a pawn,” Obadiah stared at the arc reactor in his grip and Tony’s laughs turned into breathless gasps.
Obadiah turned and walked out leaving Tony in a fit of gasping.
He didn’t know how long it was, minutes and hours.
His savior came in the form of Rhodey.
“Tony? Tony!” Rhodey ran to his side.
Tony pointed to his old arc reactor, Rhodey grabbed it, smashed it on the ground and handed it to Tony who hooked it into his chest.
Tony gasped in and put his head down.
“Obadiah has gone off the deep end,” Tony stood.
“What are we going to do?”
“Stop the Iron Monger, you will call a team to arrest him once I can stop his suit.”
“What does that mean?” Rhodey asked.
Tony made his way over to the pedestal and stepped up onto it.
Robotic arms holding pieces of the suit lowered and began to assemble on Tony. More arms lowered and drilled the armor into place.
Finally the helmet lowered onto his head.
“That has to be the coolest thing I have ever seen,” marveled Rhodey.
“Pretty sweet huh?” The visor flipped onto Tony’s face and clanked into place.
Iron Man stepped off of the pedestal and took off out of the garage.
Obadiah stepped up to the suit assembled by his team, unfortunately for him they could not assemble the arc reactor to fit within the suit. So Obadiah took it from Tony.
The suit opened up and allowed for him to climb inside, shutting around him and powering on.
The Iron Monger began to make his way for the world.
Iron Man landed at the front of Stark Industries.
A rumble from within the ground began to stir and up from it crackled the enormous beast of a suit.
“The Iron Man,” Iron Monger croaked from within the suit.
“Obadiah power it down!” Yelled Iron Man.
“No can do Tony, now I’m something greater than before, when I make Iron Man look like a novelty toy I’m going to mass produce suits for countries, and the earth will enter a new age of war.”
“No can do Iron Monger.” Iron Man held up his repulsors.
“You’re in my way,” Iron Monger lumbered his way towards him and Iron Man fired.
The blast knocked the Iron Monger back a few feet. He kneeled to slow the momentum and then stood charging for Iron Man.
Iron Man took off into the air.
The Iron Monger’s own engines ignited like a rocket lifting off and began to fly after Iron Man.
“He can fly,” Sighed Iron Man.
Iron Monger grabbed onto his ankle and cackled a metallic laugh.
“It’s no use, my suit is better in every way!”
They climbed higher and higher into the sky.
“How’d you solve the icing problem?”
“Icing Problem?”
The Iron Monger suit began to freeze, becoming covered with ice. The engine boots crackled out and Iron Monger began to fall towards the ground.
Iron Man hovered in the air.
“Power at 5%,” Jarvis reported.
Iron Man’s own rockets flickered and he began to slowly descend towards the ground.
He made his way down slowly and landed back onto the ground.
The Iron Monger suit had broken into pieces and Obadiah laid there in pain.
Soldiers surrounded him with guns pointed to his head.
Rhodey walked up standing beside Iron Man and smiled.
“The Iron Monger is no more.” Iron Man teased as the soldier hoisted Obadiah up and hooked handcuffs to his wrists.
Tony Stark read the card in his hand and Pepper applied makeup to his black eye.
“You expect them to believe Obadiah was arrested for company fraud alone?” Laughed Tony.
“I didn’t make the alibi Tony,” replied Pepper.
“Oh right, the Strategic homel-”
“S.H.I.E.L.D.” Pepper finished.
“Right,” smiled Tony.
“Ok ok go,” Pepper kissed him and then smiled.
Tony looked down grinning and walked out to the podium facing the press.
He set the card down and nodded to Rhodey beside him.
“I know over the last few weeks I have made some questionable decisions but I promise to bring this company back to its full potential.”
“Excuse me Mr. Stark,” interrupted a woman raising her hand.
Tony set the card down and sighed.
“You expect us to gloss over several eyewitness reports of two men of metal fighting outside Stark Industries, not to mention the fact that those witnesses all have the same report that the two called each other Obadiah and Tony?”
Tony looked to Rhodey who leaned into his ear.
“Stick to the cards,” Rhodey whispered.
Tony picked the card up and read the words in his head.
“I am Iron Man.”
The crowd of press erupted into yells of questions and frantic yellings.

M.F.T.B.U. PRESENTS:
IRON MAN
Tony opened the door to his house and saw a figure looking out his window, he had dark skin and a black trench coat.
“I am Iron Man?” taunted the figure.
He turned and Tony saw that an eye patch covered his eye.
“As if radioactive spiders, shrinking scientists, super soldiers  and oppressed mutants were not enough, now I have a spoiled brat who doesn’t play well with others.”
“What do you want?” Tony asked.
“A team to protect those who can not protect themselves.”
The man walked towards him.
“You’ve become a part of a bigger universe Mr. Stark, you just haven’t seen it yet.”

Happy birthday asshole/pos
lee!kamala ler!america
(Romantic amerikate, just how the birthday spawn likes it)
In the quiet comforts of Kamala's room, under the cool colours that illuminated their surroundings. Two girls lay under the covers, America holding Kamala from behind and their legs intertwined. It was quiet, not an unusual thing for Kamala's new home, a lot different than Jersey.
"Mala" murmured America.
Kamala mumbled in response for she was half asleep.
"I love you" America said, quite in a lovesick tone.
Kamala smiled and rubbed her thumb on her girlfriend's knuckles. America laid kisses on the back of Kamala's neck.
"Hehehe Merica thahat tihickles" giggled Kamala.
America now with a mischievous motive, stuck her hands under her girlfriend's purple hoodie and performed a jellyfish motion on Kamala's bare stomach.
"AMERICHAHA" shrieked Ms. Marvel.
"Yes love" responded the portal hopper.
Kamala pleaded for America to quit it and in good time she will but she had to do one more thing first. America bent over and blew a raspberry on the squirming girl in her grasp, prompting Kamala to snort and squeal.
"I'm sorry KK, it was too hard to resist" America stated before pulling Kamala back into their previously cuddly position.
"You're mean, you're lucky I love you" Kamala retorted.
