I just learned Skyblog, massive french blogging platform from Back In The Day, is closing down today at midnight.

It sure is the end of an era, a very important one for me as it was one of my first experiences online, for fandom and personal stuff...

A chapter is ending and it's definitely more bitter than sweet, though it comes to nobody’s surprise. Can't just keep all this up for old time's sake.

#skyblog #skyrock #blogging #mine #I'm archiving all my ancient blogs I made back in 2008 on the Wayback Machine as we speak #still its so weird #i knew this time would come though. but man #i had started archiving my blogs earlier this year and looks like i was wise to do so #so much old internet history falling into oblivion again #yes the vast majority of it was 13yo girls making self insert fanfics in their fav mangas #but thats still valuable just as any historian is enchanted to see doodles from a child from centuries ago #and looking at all this. it was the definition of i am cringe but i am free #or rather- we were so EARNEST in everything that we did #and the very concept of cringe hadnt even touched us yet #im so fond of my old blogs. and how genuine my friends and i were in our creations #it was a simpler time #im going to miss it
