The 10 greatest Video game trailers of all time (according to me)

This list is a bit subjective, and to be fair i know these 10 trailers aren't actually the greatest (well some of them are) I just happen to really like them. A great trailer doesn't always equate a great game, and truth be told some of these games I still haven't played (Sorry Epic Mickey)I would also like to take this moment and say these are in no particular order, until we get down to like the last two. #1 is absolutely #1 but enough of all that, you wanna see some fantastic game trailers. And i wanna post them.

10-Epic Mickey

Cool narrator voice? Check

Cool imagery? Check

A mischievous mouse? Check

I'm not too sure what about this trailer i like so much, like many of these trailers I remember seeing this at E3 and thinking it looked really cool. I also remember thinking it wasn't quite worth buying a wii for.

9- Metal Gear Solid 5 Phantom Pain

Sometimes a song choice can really make a trailer, this was one of those trailers where the song made its way onto my spotify playlist. I have a very specific memory, every morning i would leave study hall, go to the media center, and watch this trailer. I would play Metal Gear Solid games as a kid, with 3 being my favorite. I thought the game looked so cool, and of course that music

8-Animal Crossing New Leaf

HOLY SHIT YOU CAN SWIM NOW?????

This is probably my favorite trailer for any Animal Crossing game, this is also my favorite Animal Crossing game. I bought my 3ds the day this game came out, my pure excitement for this game started the day i saw this trailer, for good reason as this trailer showed a lot of new features (especially since my only other AC experience was AC population growing

7- Super Smash Bros Ultimate

"Are they bringing everyone back???"-Me when i saw Cloud

"Oh shit they are"- Me 5 seconds later when Snake comes crashing down

This trailer is honestly just iconic, there will never be another Smash game that can boast "EVERYONE IS HERE" the trailer it self is nothing too special, but i can't leave it off of a list of the greatest trailers of all time. I mean, they even brought back Pichu. Beside the character specific trailers, there won't be another Smash trailer that created as much buzz or excitement as this game

6-WindWaker

"To save...me"

this trailer does a decent job of portraying this game as an epic adventure and not some kid game to throw to your little brother. I love Windwaker (It is my favorite Zelda game after all) This trailer just feels so unique to me. I may be alone with this one, i dunno i quite like it.

5-Assasins Creed Revelations

I'm not sure what i liked more, this trailer or the literal trailer Tobuscus did back in the day. Similar to Phantom Pain the song really makes the trailer for me, and was a song i would listen to quite a bit after seeing this trailer. Beside the song it feels like this 3 minute long trailer took me on an adventure, this trailer made this game feel like a big deal, it had a sense of finality to it and peaked my interest far more than any other Assassins Creed trailer

4- Portal 2

This trailer is fantastic, just waiting to see that Portal 3 trailer

3-Splatoon

A brand new IP is always super exciting, it's even more exciting when the new IP looks like a fuck ton of fun. Splatoon trailer is simple and that's okay. They made a new game, put a trailer forth showing what the game was all about, and watched it rightfully so become a success.

2-Read Dead Redemption 2

Fun fact, RDR 2 is the first game I went and picked it up at the midnight release because I literally couldn't wait to play it. All the trailers for this game were fantastic and got me excited, but i have always loved this trailer. The music is a solid 10 here, RDR 2 is a very story focused game, but the trailers don't reveal too much, just enough to get you excited

1-The Legend of Zelda. Breath of the Wild

This is a strong contender for the greatest video game trailer of all time. The world of BOTW is large and alive and full of things to do and fight. This trailer shows that beautifully, I wanted to go there. I wanted to so badly explore this land of Hyrule, to discover all the secrets she was hiding. BOTW is the first Zelda game to include voice acting, and I guess people don't especially love the voice actor for Zelda, but honestly i think she did a great job "Everything I've done up until now...It was all for nothing" Seeing Zelda break down crying in Links arm made me so excited for this game, Zelda was shown as an actual character here, I was excited to explore this world but i also so badly wanted to know what the story of this game was going to be. Why was Zelda breaking down in the rain? What are those things destroying that town? The imagery, music, lines of dialogue everything about this trailer just comes together and works
