For the first time in months, the Kujou Encampment grounds were quiet. Ever since the recent confrontation with the resistance on the front lines and the appearance of Sangonomiya Kokomi, the morale of the Shogunate army had taken quite a toll. Her soldiers were waiting patiently for her to announce their next move, to begin planning the next hit to the resistance, but Sara had lost her composure for the first time since her rise to the position of the General.

She had seen you on the opposite side of the battlefield, after all.

It wasn’t that she was surprised to see you. She had been preparing herself for the reality that you were not on her side anymore for weeks. But in that moment, when she was supposed to hate you most, she was still able to call you beautiful.

It wasn't hard to say that she hated herself for it, for being able to still feel so strongly for someone who opposed the Shogun's will so openly, but no matter what she tried her feelings seemed to never disappear. Not even the sight of you standing beside Resistance forces, hand in hand with none other than Kaedehara Kazuha.

You, poised with your weapon against her, fighting in perfect harmony with perhaps the most wanted man under the Sakoku Decree, still gave the general butterflies.

But it was bittersweet. She missed training until sunrise beneath the purple leaves, allowing you to drag her around the archipelago, watching sunsets from the top of Serpent's Head, stealing free moments to talk walks along the beaches of Tatarasuna.

She missed you. More than anything in the world.

It was drizzling while she reminisced, gazing across the water towards the faint glow of the Mikage Furnace. Thinking about what you might be doing just beyond Kannazuka, doing things you used to do with her with a wanted man instead was too much. Before she knew it, her tears mingled with the falling rain, but she knew this was the last time she was going to cry for you.
