IICHY deserved so much more promo

this is the thing. iichy got the promo but they weren’t consistent with it. we had promo for a couple of weeks and i think it had legs to be his first #1. it charted at #2 the same as the collab (i think??), it’s television debut was SNL and he did quite a few radio interviews to talk about it, including elvis duran and stuff like that. it’s currently at #10 on billboard (again, i think??) so people clearly like it. i’m not sure where it was before but it’s climbing. with the collab, i’m not entirely sure what the promo has been to be honest. i know where it’s coming from and what’s making people listen to it, but other than that and the magazine interview he did with her, i haven’t heard any radio interviews for it and i don’t remember seeing him saying anything about its successes apart from one liners in q&a. all we get for the collab is the fact that it’s television debut is the vmas and we need to vote. or here, have some new merch to buy while we wait another couple months to ship the iichy stuff you bought months ago. that’s the thing that gets me. iichy truly is a song of the summer for me and so many people like it and it GOES OFF live but we don’t really have anything to show for it (pls refer back to my point about the merch) like i said, it had legs and the support from the public but i feel like it was forgotten about when his team saw another opportunity for money (i know it’s his job, he deserves to get paid for the music and performances he gives us but i wish everyone would stop looking at us like cash cows and treat us a little more like,,,people with bills and school and tuition fees??)

#don’t hate me #and please tell me if you think I’m wrong #or right and just late to the party but #IICHY is apart of the show #it was meant to plant the seed #which is why it got awesome promo at first then dropped off once it became popular #they just needed the idea out there #the songs on SM3 are too subtle so they could be about anyone but IICHY is specifically about them #or the story they want to sell us #remember señorita had been in the works for months #and you can’t lead with señorita because thats too obvious #i might be a conspiracy theorist #so ignore me #I’m really bored at work and have an over active brain
