finally, a good question! one i’ve been thinking about all day since i got it because putting my nebulous thoughts into words is exceedingly difficult.

jongerry, to me, is compassion. its caring too much, to a fault. its arguing for hours on end about insane minute things while caring for each other- making lunch, doing each others laundry, brushing the hair out of each others faces. jongerry is the resilience to continue, the urge to love and care and hold humanity tightly while the world crumbles and youre the only person each other has left and thank god its you and i would have missed you so much and shut up with a loving glare. jongerry is tender confessions broken by the natural levity they bring into each others lives. jongerry is so much more than a romantic pairing- theyre best friends, life partners, longing glances from across the hallway, a just missed connection that glowed with potential, a tragedy in the making and at its beginning and its end.

theyre… warm and glowing and a spark i wish could burn but can only do so far away from their actual source material. their brief meeting, though featuring gerry trapped in the archetype hes been forced to play his whole life, shows him breaking from his shell for this one man. shows jon, though a bit creeped out, thoroughly enjoy his company, talking to him like a person and not just an anthropomorphized monster manual- being so enraptured by him to go against the fear he’s being completely consumed by to help him! to stand against the hunters when they track him down and tell them gerry wasnt yours. GERRY! he always wanted his friends to call him gerry. implying with the wording his first friend, his only friend.

and how special is that? to have such a spark, such a connection, and see all the possibilities they couldve had together only for that to be impossible in any reality. how wonderful, then, to explore it.
