maybe "genes" r just random n crazy like mlp logic where the two earth ponys had a pegasus n unicorn kid where everyone has interbred enough that most genes r spread out but tends to be same species kid n parent like pokemon but sometimes hybrid "mutations" happen. (and maybe metawise out of universe it always corresponds to personality and since families can tend to have similar personality n vibes it works out and for those that dont its just genetics at play anyways)?

yeag thats where i was getting w the tags of that post like i dont think Feathers' parents were a rabbit and fox...bt she has that fox tail so maybe she jst had like an altered gene tht had her come out w that long tail

BUT i also like rabbit and fox cant have a child but adoption is very easy so its like magically being brought a different animal anyway LOL

Or some ppl mentioned maybe "hybrids" like that between a rabbit and fox CAN be made but its not that extreme/splicing of parts and the hybrid offspring is the one that cant have kids.

Still leaning toward rabbit and fox cant have a kid but something like a horse and cow can bc it makes sense to cheye despite not making sense scientifically, the child will take form of one of the parents, but after recent considerations, could express traits of another animal.

agree....trying to make things funner ^_^ bt idk, id love to be able to come up w my own magical mechanism vs just saying "umm thats just how it is :)" but im not smart enough to come up w a magical mechanism JFKHFJAJD like yu know when story writers make up their own system of writing or language and shit...thats insane to me bt i wish i cld do the equivalent for this
