Oh my god I never posted the photo

This was all gray plastic as of this time last week, with a few basecoated exceptions and one fully finished model, so all in all I'm very pleased with the hustle and relative quality of it.

30 Hearthkyn, 5 Hearthguard, 3 Brokhyr and a Kahl, representing the Sub-Ymyri Biomass Co-Op, a custom league with close ties to the Ymyr Conglomerate, at my local tournament.

Despite playing them wrong, I wiped my first two matches (vs. Guard and Custodes) with relative ease. My final match was my undoing, though, as I was up against a guard list with heavy anti-infantry artillery which simply mulched me with very unforgiving cover on my end. I only scored 9 points which caused my final score to plummet, sinking me in at #8 out of 20.

The list building grinds ever on. I like how votann play a lot, but it's really hard to make a good list at 1000 with arks rules as I can't effectively run both bikes and hearthguard or brokhyr. I'll think of something, though!

I'm nearly finished building my Leagues of Votann box so I wanted to show off my Kahl. I'm not super into the dwarven runes so I think I'm going to gap fill them and paint hazard stripes instead.

I can't believe how quickly everyone else has built and painted their starter boxes. There's some great looking Votann armies out there already. I'm really looking forward to painting my dudes.

So I've been planning a Leagues of Votann strike force and I think I've settled on roughly 2000 points of models I want to grab.

HQ:

Kahl with Combi-Bolter and Hearthfist

Grimnyr with Fortify and Interface Echo

Einhyr Champion with Exactor, Teleport Crest

Troops:

2x10 Hearthkyn with Bolters, Magna-Rail, Medic and Scanner, Plasma Sword on the Theyn

1x10 Hearthkyn with Ion Blasters, Medic and Scanner, Plasma Pistol and Concussion Gauntlet on the Theyn

Elites:

10 Cthonian Beserks with Plasma Axes, 2xConcussion Gauntlets and 2xMole Grenade Launchers

5 Hearthguard, Disintegrators and Plasma Blades, Hesyr with Concussion Hammer, Teleport Crest

Fast Attack:

6 Hernkyn, 2x Hylas Rotary Cannon, Scanner, Searchlight

Heavy Support:

3 Thunderkin with Graviton Blast Cannons

Hekaton Land Fortress with Heavy Magna Rail Cannon, Panspectral Scanner, 4x Bolt Cannons

Running them as URSR, the idea for this army is to have a pretty nasty gunline holding the home field objectives, the Ion Hearthkin and Thunderkin midfield, while the Grimnyr and Kahl support the beserks as they push to the enemy side of the board (T7 with Fortify, 5+ FnP and 5+Invuln) inside a Magna-Rail Hekaton Land Fortress, then warping in the Hearthguard and Champion to engage the nastiest enemy models while the Hernkyn provide harassment and support.

First League Of Votann minis built, also the first movie built in the new hobby area. One Kâhl and Einhyr Champion Loving the big bulky armour Finding the lore interesting, but none of the colour schemes for the 4 main leagues are jumping out at me.. So looks like the colour scheme will be my own.. Tested out the recording setup as well, need to have a look at the footage when my sons not asleep...
