The two pills I took truly meant I was relaxed enough to remember my whole dream so let me go over it.

It, of course, was about the elections. I'm sure I was doing something else when my mother interrupted me to remind me of them, so I got excited before remembering my lack of ID, but I was like well maybe they'll accept other ones so I picked my pre-16 one, one even BEFORE that one and a paper one where i had my surname listed as my step father's but the city was listed as my current. Though we were still in my former, Palermo.

Out in the streets it was wild it was like a carnival it was filled with people all dressed up in these complex and beautiful costumes of different traditional cultures from all over the world (I especially remember one indian one). Hell we even stumbled upon a fucking wizard that said something to my mother and she didn't listen but I took a second and then giggled, cannot remember what that was though.

Once inside the place it was nothing like a voting room, in fact, it was more like a border control. There also was an indigenous man dressed in traditional clothing standing at the door screaming proudly how he was going to vote Cristina and giving a reason I didn't hear bc i was rushing to the desk.

We somehow got first on the queue and as I was pulling the papers out and trying to explain my situation to the girl behind the glass the woman (old, short, fat, dyed red hair, heavy makeup , we all have met her) standing behind me went "otro que viene con el documento digital..." and I turned around and moving my arms up like animal who wants to appear bigger I went to her face "SI, TENÉS ALGÚN PROBLEMA?!" and to my fortune this evoked a few shy laughs but no complaints, everyone understood my sheer desperation.

I was at the verge of tears trying to explain that I lost my ID (tried to say they stole it but I was too emotional to lie) and how this was very important to me and the woman was understanding but she was like you cannot vote without your ID <:/ so instead she gave us a ticket of sorts we'd have to use a week later which was, some solution? Brought me relief.

And as I was leaving the silliest thing happened as the TV on the place started playing a Mario short w that 80s style but it was kinda bizarre like they were doing some Looney tunes shit to those men. And then even better THIS guy showed up,

This is my terrible recreation of the man I'd later discover is called Vincet and had a number of different shorts they'd play during the elections of different countries, one of which was France, where I got this face in particular from. He was buff so it was like, if Johnny Bravo cared about your civil rights or something. Had to find him thru TOMT too btw.

hellooo mai !! here is my update hehe^^ i'll try to send messages more often but i don't rlly have that much to talk abt but i'll still try !!

i got my manifesto day 1 album but i didnt get sunghoon weverse pob :(( its ok cuz my pulls for the actual album were so good?? anyways i got jay in the uniform pob and hee in the other (they look saurr good) and my pulls were absolutely insane i got my entire bias line??? i got jake for the postcard and jungwon and sunghoon for the pcs ?!?!?! i was so surprised i got so lucky,,,

i tried getting another border carnival album but they didnt have hype ver :(( the guy at the store said everyone always goes for that ver so i got dimension dilemma instead and i'm pretty sure i have a sunoo curse (not complaining though) i was in a rush so i accidentally got the wrong ver but its not a big deal lmao

i got two sunoo pcs and i got niki for the poster ! so as of rn i have at 5 sunoo pcs (damn), 2 hee pcs, and one for everyone except jake (jake pls come home) but if i count the other things in albums then i've got members !

and my barista course was fun !! it was rlly stressful at the beginning cuz they kept feeding us lots of information in the beginning but the second part of the class was more chill and we did a bunch of stuff like fudge and latte art,,, i tasted one of my coffees and it surprisingly tasted good ? i genuinely thought it was gonna taste like absolute shit lmaoo the instructors complimented my first latte and my milk frothing so ig i found a hidden talent hehe

as of rn im listening to jungwon's live, i rlly hope the members rest well and get well soon !! they were so excited to promote paradoxxx invasion esp jay but they got covid so :((( but jungwon is genuinely one of the sweetest ppl on earth bc he kept reassuring engenes that they're all fine and he's even on live for us ( genuinely sobbing i love him so much)

also apparently we're getting actor hoon soon !! he'll be a cameo in the drama mimicus (?) which they sung an unreleased ost for !! 02z's names were mentioned but hoon's the only one confirmed as a cameo,,, saur excited to see actor hoon !!

since we both live in aus, im guessing its evening where you are? so i hope you had a very very great day today and you rest and sleep well !! i slept for 12 hours tday cuz i was so tired,, anyways hope you are well !! lots of love and take care <33

The same anon that mentioned Sociologists and Anthropologists. My dad has a PhD on Sociology and I was talking to him about the whole culture appropriation situation and he was truly questioning where this is coming from and what should be considered cultural appropriation. He said it is a dangerous territory especially in countries like Brazil, that have the highest concentration of black people outside of Africa, of Italians outside of Italy and of Asians outside of Japan. (+)

Essentially, he says exactly what you did. Culture should be appreciated. And his question was: are brazilians culturally appropriating, then? Because Brazil is incredibly mixed, with most of the population being a mix of brown people, black people and asians. So, are all white people appropriating from Samba, Carnival, capoeira? Which are African cultural traditions?

From where did it come from? ... white Americans ? I got an impression that instead of solving the problems they try to fix it with substitutes. The whole political corectness and cultural appropriation are like... let’s insult others just in a way they can’t be mad about it. Instead of putting some effort on LEARNING, let’s just NOT TALK ABOUT IT. 

btw, in this particular case, when i say “white Americans” I mean the probably some old, white, “educated”, high and mighty ELITES that create the discourse there in the last decades (centuries...?).

I totally get that for example, making fun of Native Americans and their HOLY symbols on halloween, or putting black faces in a country that destoryed the cultures and enslaved the people is simply wrong in. But then, you have that lil girl who is fascinated by the foreign Japanse culture, who put effort in every detail on her sadō, who enjoyed it etc. How teh fuck you can call it wrong? D: This girl may start learning the language, read literature, watch movies, make friends, go to Japan and maybe even start cultural studies thanks to her childhood fascination, bascially it makes her a better human being. This is the soft power. 

Also, I sometimes wonder if some people understand how NICE it is when tourists come to foreign country and say simple “good morning” in your native language. Or when they enjoy the food, customs, traditional clothes, music, whatefuckingever. The first thing the Malaysian students did to us when when our group came for a visit to thei iniversity was a)feeding us and b)dragging us to dance their traditional dances with them. embarassing as fuuuuuuuuck, still, I can assure you that talking to them right after was much easier. 

It’s just... I don’t know. It frustrates me. In the time when the whole world is open like never before and there are no borders, we are closing each others and putting some ties on ourselves because some people don’t see a difference between offending someone and being fan of it.

Next what I will learn is that listening to K-pop, watching anime, eating pasta or visiting  Machu Picchu is WROOOOOOOOOOONG.

Fuck my life, seriously, i’m too old for this shit.
