VIDEOGRAPHY AS A SERIOUS ART! NOT FOR ALL!

This article is entirely devoted to event videography “Dubai” and its two main subspecies into which we divide it. This is news reportage photography and festive. In cases where the speaker has been conducting his monologue for too long, for several minutes and longer, the use of a zoom lens is allowed to easily revive the frame and zoom in or out. However, in this case it is necessary to know the measure in its use and in no case do not abuse this function, and also strictly adhere to the following rules: not jump from the big one to the general plan and back with a sharp jump, but do it as smoothly as possible, even barely noticeable; Avoid excessive magnification of the speaker’s face: there must always be enough free space between the face of the person and the horizontal borders of the frame - up to half the face diameter from below and at least a quarter of the face diameter from above. A frame with a human face, touching the borders of the frame or going beyond them, simply does not look and is even unpleasant for perception. Of course, in the cinema such shots sometimes have a place to be and even, sometimes, serve the specific purposes of the movie, but we are not talking about cinema now. Of course, static video shooting is not necessarily just the shooting of one speaker or person giving an interview. These can be any plans in nature or in premises that are required to be captured with immobility or static.

Panoramic, or non-static video shooting- This is the exact opposite of static shooting. With the panning style, the camcorder moves horizontally or vertically, and can also move diagonally and rotate 360 degrees around the axis. All these types of panoramic shooting can be freely combined in one frame - that is, between starting and stopping the video. Zoom here is allowed to use almost without limitation only with the observance of the same unchanging rule: no sudden changes in plans, everything should be smooth and harmonious. Personal advice: it is best to give preference to frames starting with a close-up of an object, and then during panning is not quick, and sometimes slowly turning into a general plan. Just for the eyes nicer. And more interesting.

A creative video is a video using non-standard approaches to capturing the events taking place. Already from this proposal alone it becomes clear that this style does not require the operator to comply with the classical norms of video-surveying - on the contrary, here all the standard principles and rules fade into the background, opening up a wide field for the operator’s imagination and the almost unpredictable behavior of his camera. But here the reservation immediately follows: creatively shooting - this does not mean at all messy lens to run from side to side and continuously grab the ring of the zoom lens and focus. Let's be frank to the end: creative video shooting often requires much more skill and skill from the operator to handle their instrument than any other style of shooting. Here, the operator is simply obliged to see in advance the entire frame, which he then will record on the camera. The main guarantee of a successful creative video shooting is the ability to shoot assembly!

For the sake of propriety, we note that creative video shooting is not suitable for capturing any official events, receptions, gatherings, performances, and so on, but is welcome at such venues as club parties, performances and parties of rap musicians or DJs. You can also sometimes "creative" in the shooting of some sporting events and competitions. Let's not talk about exactly how the camera should move in space during creative video shooting - for each event being recorded and for each purpose for which the shooting is being conducted, this is individual. The analogue of the creative video in the movie is dynamic shooting.

In addition to the three main styles of reportage video, listed and described above, you need to highlight a separate video "tracking camera", it is - a concert shooting. The name of the style to some extent explains itself. In this case, the camera lens literally watches everything that happens on the theatre or concert stage, slowly (!) Shifting the viewer's attention by changing plans and short panoramas, and in some cases, of the GRIP.
