oooo thought of another LOL but for psy! <3: what is your favorite cooking show, and favorite dish to cook?

It's somewhat gradual, but Psylas's lips slowly quirk up, a relaxed smirk resting on his face after a moment. "My favorite cooking show?"

The smirk extends after he says it, an amused if somewhat mean look in his eye. "You know that one competitive show with the bidding? Bid a certain amount of money, you can buy sabotages for your competitors and force them to put up with it? Winner takes whatever they have left?" He allows himself a small laugh. "Always entertains me when they have to cook with a hair dryer or something like that. Impressive if they can pull it off."

"As for my favorite thing to cook?" He shrugs, leaning back. "Depends on the day, I guess. Some days call for spice, some for sweet, some for hearty... you get the picture." He stops, seemingly to end it there, before adding, "My mother's family recipes are usually my favorite, though. Vahlan cuisine beats out anything you'll find in the best restaurant on Coruscant, I guarantee you."

Fluff: What hits their soft spot? Does anything them into emotional goo?

Rina showing up unannounced just to spend time with him. Viyura making flower crowns for him and asking him to show her his cool maps. baking stuff with Cassian (and just their friendship in general, but good luck getting Psy to admit it). cooking shows with Vin. medical talk with Elara. chatting with Liv. Kheren snuggling up next to him. generally speaking, he likes time with his loved ones the most.

Law: What do they think about abiding rules? Are they selective about it?

if he thinks there's a good reason for the rule being in place, then he'll listen and follow it. generally a law-abiding citizen, but one prone to looking the other way for the sake of people he cares about (his privateer husband, pirate daughter, numerous smuggler friends ksgksdg). but if he thinks something is wrong then yeah, he's def breaking that rule and doing what he thinks is right. "go ahead, try and discharge me. I'm the best soldier you'll ever have" energy, which I figure works out for him bc he'll only go off the books for the sake of civilian safety.

Sing: Do they like music? Do they listen often/sing/hum/play songs in their head?

he gets "Psy, You Are a B" stuck in his head every day :') in all seriousness, he's def the kind of guy who likes space classic rock - the GFFA's equivalents to AC/DC, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, etc. he isn't very vocal about it, but he does enjoy music in general and has been known to get them stuck in his head/tap his foot to a song/etc. less nice is Viyura's kiddie music getting stuck in his head after he adopts her, but he'd never complain because it makes her happy.

hc: i feel like psylas is the type of dude who almost always has dog treats with him? like even when he doesn’t have his own dog- because you never know when you might run into one! (the fact that psy canonically has a puppy makes me so happy ajsjsjjs)

oh I’ve never thought of that before but I love it too much to not make it canon :’) (and you will be pleased to know that Psy now, canonically, has two puppies because I want this tall grump to be a happy guy already but he fights me on it)

I mean, when he’s on duty? nah, he’s such a workaholic skgsg but in his downtime? being a regular ol’ civilian? 110%

What does your character want people to know about themselves? What do they hide from other people? Why?

thank you!!! 🖤 choosing Psylas (Republic trooper) and Yula (Sith warrior) for this one

Psylas: he wants people to know that he's efficient, that he'll get the job done and even better, he'll do it right (i.e. actually caring about the ethics of his actions where the enemy and civilians are concerned; too many soldiers don't care enough). he doesn't want people to know about his own unresolved trauma and issues, tho. he wants to be regarded as a machine that does the job right, and doesn't want people to care about him, because then he has to look at his own health and admit he's not as fine as he pretends.

Yula: firmly terrified of being discovered as a Light side heretic in the Sith Empire, for understandable "I don't want to get killed" reasons. also because she initially views herself as weak and squeamish, and it scares her by virtue of living in a society that reveres the strong. she would like to be viewed as the ideal Sith by others, which. she is not, but there's absolutely something to be said for somebody who's clever enough to survive in the land of social Darwinism and still hold true to a sense of honor and kindness.

49. What are some themes tied to your character’s story?

Noct - finding a new home and family to belong to. overcoming depression and trauma (or getting better at working past it) and finding reasons to want to live, not just survive. letting go of past resentments and learning to forgive.

Psylas - setting aside personal arrogance and pride in favor of protecting and caring for others. defying authority and making unpopular decisions to keep others safe. learning to work in a team and trust people again after years of being a loner.

41. Memory

Casoleil - has a tendency to shrug off the worst things that happens to her whenever she remembers them, the Castellan restraints being somewhat of an exception to the rule (that one triggers her PTSD bad). she doesn’t talk about her childhood or family much to others, but when she does, she usually speaks about it cheerfully and says that things could’ve been a lot worse. you have to be close to her in order for her to admit that it’s hurt her whenever she reminisces.

Psylas - I could go angsty with this route but I’ll be nice to the guy for once. he has very fond memories of his childhood before the traumatic event that changed his life. his hometown was on the smaller side, and the people in his community were very friendly and welcoming. he tries not to think of them often since it’s kind of a rabbit hole for him, but he sometimes he remembers summers spent happily with his family on their farm/ranch or screwing around with friends and smiles a bit.

35. Guilt

Casoleil - she tries not to think about guilt, in the same vein that she tries not to think too much about her own deeper feelings (anger, sadness, love, anything aside from cheerfulness and focusing on the job) in general. while she runs more LS than other agents and will look for the kinder way of handling her missions, she still does some pretty nasty stuff for the Empire at the end of the day, and she knows it deep down. it’s easier to bury it down than it is to cope with it and face the kind of person she is. that being said, the Castellan restraints and general events of the agent story force her to confront that part of herself and it makes her question the Empire she’s been serving so loyally.

Psylas - he blames himself for his father’s death, though he’s only said that out loud to maybe a handful of people in the years since it’s happened. the Imperial raid on Agamar that was responsible for a lot of deaths in his hometown almost killed him as well; he only survived because his mother chose to save him instead of his father. he’s struggled with survivor’s guilt ever since then, and there have been a lot of days where he wishes that his mother had saved his father instead.

34. Affection

big guy isn’t the best at showing it. he can vocalize that he’s in love just fine with a romantic partner, but otherwise he’s a bit... awkward, I guess is the term lol. romantic or not, though, his love language is acts of service and he’s the type to quietly make sure everything you needed is taken care of if you mention it to him.

38. Sympathy

people who work with him for the first time will probably be caught off-guard by how very gentle he is with civilians. for all that he’s a perfectionist jerk on the job and towards his fellow soldiers, he knows exactly what it’s like to be a scared civvie caught in the middle of a fight they didn’t ask for and he does his best to keep them feeling safe and calm. if somebody asked him about it, he’d probably just roll his eyes and tell them that they would get it if they bothered to do their job right.

✍ : What is your muse’s handwriting like? Is it neat? Sloppy? Fancy?

very neat penmanship. I have no idea how much it would show up in the GFFA, tbh, but the man does a lot of paperwork and knows he has to make sure people can actually read his reports.

⚠ : How does your muse react to possibly dangerous situations? Do they face them head-on, or do they plan out their actions first?

oh, very much a “chill in the face of danger” kind of guy who preps for things as best he can, but sometimes stuff happens so you have to deal with it on the fly. generally prefers to plan things out if he can.

☃  : What is your muse’s favorite season? What about their least favorite season, if they have one?

he likes the winter! kind of leftover from having less to do on the family’s ranch when he was a kid, kind of just him legitimately enjoying snow and bundling up.

not a fan of summer, my boy does not care for heat in the slightest. he always feels like he has to strip down to nothing but his pants, and even then, it is still too hot out.
