Traditionally, baobab leaves, bark, and seeds have been used to treat “almost any disease,” including malaria, tuberculosis, fever, microbial infections, diarrhoea, anaemia, toothache, and dysentery.
The leaves and fruit pulp have been used to reduce fever and stimulate the immune system.Baobab is an excellent source of vitamin C .The vitamin C level is said to be 10 times that of oranges, you only need 4 tablespoons and It also contains potassium, magnesium, and iron, vitamins B, C, and Omega 3 . I use it in my porridge, smoothies and even on my skin to give it the beautiful natural glow. Baobab pulp was the richest in polyphenols, followed by shell, fibrous filaments, and seeds. Polyphenols are naturally occurring compounds found largely in the fruits, vegetables, cereals and beverages. Polyphenols are reducing agents referred to as antioxidants which protect the body's tissues against oxidative stress and associated pathologies such as cancers, coronary heart disease and inflammation.
