You see, my fellow gentledemons, Mr. Johnson appeared on the musical scene out of nowhere in 1929, at the age of eighteen. He was such a prodigious guitarist and songwriter that this alone may have been enough to spark such tales, but he died at twenty-seven in a most bizarre manner. He was heard raving about monsterous hounds pursuing him - hellhounds, to be precise - before leaving the establishment where he had been performing. He was never seen alive again, though when his body was found, it bore no signs of violence. His ravings that evening, his sudden musical prowess, and the manner of his death sparked rumors that he had sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for his musical talent.
