Women Cycling, UCI WOMENS TEAM 2021
With many years working with the female cyclists we have decided this year to step up and support a professional team to enable us to have our kit tested under continuous stress conditions and getting a constant feedback to continuously improve to the highest levels.
Therefore now please to announce the UCI has finally registered the team for the season 2021, which will be wearing a colourful kit resembling the Brasilian colours and also the various national champions in the team. At the moment we have 3 national champions that this will give us a great exposure for the brand on those countries.
Below is a bit of history about the team, but from now on you have a new team to support.
UCI WOMEN’S CONTINENTAL TEAM
MEMORIAL SANTOS SADDLEDRUNK
Created in 2000 from the initiative of businessman Pepe Altstut and the journalist Fábio Maradei, Memorial-Santos cycling team today is the most traditional Brazilian's team and have been won all the possible titles in road and track cycling in national territory.
After 20 seasons, more than 150 cyclists from all corners of the country - and some other countries in South America - wore the team's traditional blue uniform, between men and women.
Intending to develop Brazilian women's cycling in 2018 the team ran for the first time an European season. Having stayed for 3 months in Belgian soil. In 2019 we believed we were on the right way and got the UCI license for the first time! From 2020 so we started an even greater internationalization of our team with the entry of European riders. However we were unable to test ourselves on the roads due to the pandemic. For 2021 we are ready for a complete European season, being now the only UCI team in Latin America, we have improved the team with new and strong riders:
Adriele Alves Mendes from Brazil
Ana Paula Casetta from Brazil
Ana Paula Polegatch from Brazil
Anna Van Wersch from Netherlands
Denise Aracely Ahumada Riquelme from Chile
Gabriela da Costa from Brasil
Jennifer George from Great Britain
Minna-Maria Kangas from Finland
Lisa Groothuesheidkamp from Curacao
Selma Trommer from Germany
Sharon Dommanschet from Netherland
Taise Maiara Benato from Brazil
Talita Oliveira from Brazil
Thayna Araujo de Lima from Brazil
