This year’s Tour of the Gila was the first in the competition’s history where the prize money for both the male and female categories was equal. But following Killips’ win, two biological males walked away with the prize pots.“
A trans-identified male has taken first place in a women’s cycling tour, prompting outrage from women’s rights advocates and those concerned about fairness in women’s sport.
Over the weekend in New Mexico, elite cyclists from all over the world participated in the Tour of the Gila, an internationally known top-tier cycling competition. Coming in first place in the women’s category was a man named Austin Killips.
Killips, 27, identifies as a “woman” and has been competing in women’s cycling events since 2022, as reflected by his pro-cycling profile.
Notably, this year’s Tour of the Gila was the first in the competition’s history where the prize money for both the male and female categories was equal. But following Killips’ win, two biological males walked away with the prize pots.
Killips made his advance to first place in the final minutes of the long race. He raced as part of the Amy D Foundation team, whose director said their plan for Killips to win “worked out perfectly.” She said that the team aimed to have someone “help and protect” him after the second sprint point of the race so he could secure a breakaway to first place.
The cycling event’s official Twitter reported Killips’ “win”using feminine pronouns and stated that he “put an exclamation point on her overall race lead Sunday by winning Stage 5 Gila Monster and taking home the overall victory at Tour of the Gila.” They quickly turned off the ability for other Twitter users to comment on the post, likely in anticipation of the wave of criticism which soon followed.
Tumblr media
Killips was previously accused of attempting to push female cyclist Hannah Arensman off the racing course at the UCI Cyclocross National Championships in December 2022.
One Twitter user shared a video of the incident that shows Killips trying to “put Arensman into the tape.” The user said it was one of at least three such attempts to push her off course, but the only one recorded on video, and had said Killips should have been disqualified for that move alone.
Tumblr media
After the video went viral, the Los Angeles Blade called those who were defending Arensman “opponents of transgender inclusion.” Killips spoke to the LGBTQ outlet and said the allegation was “ridiculous,” even though it had been caught on film.
In a bizarre statement, the outlet tried to defend Killips by confirming that the “conditions were so horribly slippery that even the Elite Men had difficulty navigating” the course.
USA Cycling has yet to comment on the issue, which they were reportedly going to “review.”
Killips’ appearance at the Tour of the Gila was with the sponsorship of the Amy D. Foundation, which purports to “encourage and support young women through cycling, inspiring the celebration of healthy challenge and empowering the confident pursuit of lofty dreams.”
But trans-identified male participation in women’s cycling has already been said to have ended one female cyclist’s career in the sport.
Hannah Arensman, who was a 35-time winner in cyclocross racing, retired from the sport shortly after the controversy surrounding Killips attempting to push her off of the track during a women’s competition.
Arensman shared that she felt as though racing directly against male cyclists in women’s events had become so discouraging that she decided to end her cycling career.
Tumblr media
Recalling December’s UCI Cyclocross National Championships race, she shared that her family sobbed watching Killips finish in front of her after seeing several physical interactions with him throughout the race. She came in 4th place that day after being flanked on either side by male participants in the elite women’s category.
Arensman struggles to reckon with the possibility that she was not selected to compete for the USA at the Cyclocross Worlds in February 2023 because of a male competitor.
“I have felt deeply angered, disappointed, overlooked, and humiliated that the rule makers of women’s sports do not feel it is necessary to protect women’s sports to ensure fair competition for women anymore.”
The issue of men identifying into women’s sporting categories has triggered a heated international debate which has resulted in public scrutiny of policies that prioritize a self-declared gender identity over biological sex. Last month, in a shift from recent years, sporting authority World Athletics president Sebastian Coe banned trans-identifying male athletes who have undergone a male puberty from competing against women.
He was sponsored by an organization that was started to encourage women to pursue cycling

Road Cycling Reformation
Recently road cycling is referred as the most conservative sport by Eusebio Unzué, manager of UCI WorldTour team, Movistar Team. I knew that from an article from Cyclingnews.com which I read on February 6th 2024. The article could be read on https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/this-is-the-most-conservative-sport-unzue-calls-for-substitutions-in-grand-tours/. After reading the article, I felt that road cycling needs innovations and some form of reformation. Road cycling has to reform because of Eusebio Unzué's statement on article that I read. Reformation is needed because road cycling wants to become the innovative sport.
Road cycling reformation could be started with race formats. Road cycling races would consist one day races, three day stage races, six day stage races and 15 stages Grand Tours. One day races would held for one day on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Three day stage races would held for three days which held on Friday-Sunday. Three day stage races are created to bridging one day races and typical stage races which could held for up to nine days. Three day stage race is the one of the key innovations of road cycling because there are races on Friday-Sunday which inspired by Formula 1 which one race is held for three days. Three day stage races are ideal for every professional and amateur cyclists because they only require to race for few days and there are plenty of spaces and rests. Three day stage races are also ideal for cycling fans who are working and going to school which the race days would not interfere their works and studies. Three day stage races would available for all race levels, even amateur level. Three day stage races would become the important part of road cycling. Typical stage races would be shortened into six day stage races in sake of efficiency. Six day stage races would held for six days on Tuesday-Sunday. Six day stage races are the main races on road cycling and available for all race levels.
Grand Tours would be shortened to 15 stages in sake of efficiency and as the part of innovation. 15 stages Grand Tours would be held from Friday-Sunday and every Tuesday-Sunday for around 18 days plus two rest days. 15 stages Grand Tour is one of the key innovations of road cycling and the revolutionary one. Weeks on Grand Tours would be replaced with phases. Grand Tour phases consists of five phases which each phase consists three stages. First phase consists stage 1-3 which held on Friday-Sunday. Second phase consists stage 4-6 which held on Tuesday-Thursday. Third phase consists stage 7-9 which held on Friday-Sunday. Fourth phase consists stage 10-12 which held on Tuesday-Thursday. Fifth phase consists stage 13-15 which held on Friday-Sunday. There are two rest days, they are first rest day on Monday between first and second phase and second rest day on Monday between third and fourth phase. On Grand Tours, phases are representing racing journeys which are important for cyclists' position on the race. Classifications would be counted on each stage and phase and there are awards which given for best cyclists on end of the phase.
Race length would be standardized for both men and women. Standardization of race length is enforced in sake of efficiency. Race lengths for one day race are 200 km and 240 km for men and 160 km and 200 km for women. Race lengths for road races including Grand Tours are 120 km, 160 km and 200 km for men and 80 km, 120 km and 160 km for women. Race lengths for time trial races are 10 km, 20 km and 40 km for men and 5 km, 10 km and 20 km for women. All races would use this standardized lengths for all racing levels which intended for elite cyclists. If road cycling race lengths are standardized, audience could predict the races precisely. Races would be shorter, so the broadcasting and viewing time would be shorter. Shorter races would benefit cyclists and audience, mainly audience whom used watching short videos and programs. Standardized race length is one of the key innovations of road cycling which rooted on athletics, cross country skiing and speed skating.
Road cycling teams would be standardized for both men's and women's teams. There are 18 teams on WorldTour level for men and women and 54 teams on ProTeam level for men and women. Teams for men and women for all levels are similar in sake of gender equality. Teams on ProTeam are mostly from Europe, but teams from other continents are welcome. ProTeam level would have allocation according to continent in sake of globalization. ProTeam allocation is 24 teams from Europe, eight teams from Americas, Asia and Africa and six teams from Oceania. Allocation based on continent would help globalize road cycling. With continent allocation, many countries are competing for ProTeam spots. Continental Tour level consists 2-24 teams per country, stronger countries and countries with larger populations could have more teams. Teams for Continental tours are similar for men and women.
Number of riders on each team would be standardized on road cycling. Team structure on road cycling is similar with team sports like football. Each professional team consists 32 riders on WorldTour, ProTeam and Continental Tour levels. Each club, amateur and development (feeder) team consists 24 riders. Number of riders on each team is similar for men and women in sake of gender equality. Road cycling would become the sport with largest number of athletes on a team which would surpass football and other team sports. Large number of riders on road cycling team is actually logical since all international competitions requiring eight riders on each team. All type of races, from one day races to Grand Tours would consist eight riders each team which is implemented for men's and women's competitions. Similar number of riders for each team on teams and races is one of the key innovations of road cycling since they promote gender equality.
Road cycling competitions would be gender equal. All prominent competitions, from Grand Tours to one day races would have competitions for men and women. Gender equality could reached on competitions on all levels, from amateur to WorldTour competitions. Women's competitions would be held before men's competitions which is similar with winter sports like cross country skiing. Women's competitions would be held one week before men's competitions to enforce gender equality. Number of stages for stage races are similar for men's and women's competitions. Gender equality would be implemented on road cycling because many women are watching road cycling competitions.
Safety system would be improved on road cycling. All road cycling venues would use flexible road barriers which installed on sidewalk in order to prevent crashes and clashes between cyclists and spectators. Flexible road barriers would become the mandatory on all cycling competitions to reduce injury and death rates among spectators and cyclists. Flexible road barriers are usually made from plastic, but could made from other materials. Flexible road barriers are one of the key innovations of road cycling and the second revolutionary after 15 stage Grand Tours. Technologies on road cycling equipment would be improved, mainly on safety aspect. Cycling helmets would improve safety features and there is early detection sensor on helmets to detect the possibility of crashes. Road bikes would also improve safety features which would reduce injury and death rates among cyclists and spectators. Safety would become one of the main aspects on road cycling alongside with globalization and gender equality.
UCI as the international cycling federation should enforce road cycling reformation because road cycling wants to become the innovative sport. Key innovations on road cycling are three day stage races, 15 stages Grand Tours, standardized race lengths for men's and women's races, standardized number of riders on men's and women's teams and competitions and flexible road barriers on races. Globalization, gender equality and safety would become the main aspects on road cycling. Reformation on road cycling is inspired with Formula 1, athletics, cross country skiing, speed skating and football. UCI, national and continental federations would implementing innovations and reformation of road cycling in few years.
Taken from my email to UCI on 7th February 2024.
Revised on 8th February 2024 due to changes of race lengths in km and number of riders on one team for lower divisions.

Team S&M CX and Clara Honsinger Renew With Bikeflights
With the 2023-2024 cyclocross season just getting underway, we’re pleased to welcome back Team S&M CX and Clara Honsinger to our roster of Bikeflights-sponsored teams and ambassadors.
Tumblr media
“This season marks our seventh as a complete cyclocross team dedicated to the long-term development of Pacific North West (PNW) women in this sport,” said Brenna Wrye-Simpson, Team Manager. “In that time, we have been through several chapters and have proudly stayed the course, attracting more women to the program, standing by those we’ve already rostered, and standing by cyclocross as the purest form of racing in cycling.”
Team roster
Eight women will comprise this ‘cross season’s Team S&M CX squad, which is co-managed by Wrye-Simpson and former pro racer Erik Tonkin.
Annie Davis-Usher (Portland, OR) (elite)
Rachel Geiter (Walla Walla, WA) (elite)
Allison Halpin (Bend, OR) (elite)
Clara Honsinger (Portland, OR) (elite)
Jenna Lingwood (Portland, OR) (elite)
Sophie Russenberger (Bend, OR) (elite)
Madeline Stover (Portland, OR) (under 23)
Brenna Wrye-Simpson (Portland, OR) (elite)
Wrye-Simpson also serves as the team’s mechanic while Tonkin doubles as the squad’s coach.
Tumblr media
Honsinger returns to her roots
Wrye-Simpson is especially excited that three-time US Cyclocross National Champion Clara Honsinger has returned to the team.
“To me, it only feels right to have Clara back. Our initial three-season chapter from 2017 to 2020 was one of steady progress for all of us, but most obviously hers, as she steadily studied the game and consistently landed more domestic podiums,” said Wrye-Simpson, who noted Honsinger’s first under 23 title won in 2018, her first World Cup podium in Iowa City earned in 2019, and her elite national title claimed in 2019. All were achieved while repping Team S&M CX’s distinctive orange & blue kits.
Tumblr media
Honsinger went on to race the rest of the 2019-2020 season in Europe before returning in February of 2020, after the world championships, just as rumblings of the new COVID virus were beginning to circulate. She then moved on to join the Cannondale-CyclocrossWorld.com team.
Perhaps Honsinger’s best finish to date has been a fourth place finish at the 2021 UCI Cyclocross World Championships.
“Her accomplishments speak volumes, and her growth as an athlete and worldly human are wonderful to behold,” said Wrye-Simpson of the team’s biggest stars to date.
Honsinger fondly recalled, “I remember when I first asked Erik if I could join [Team] S&M. I was a freshman in college, and he had generously offered to give me a ride in the old Kona van to Ninkrossi. I wonder what he was thinking when I posed the question – a teenager with a bike racing obsession was a pretty great unknown. But I was certain that S&M was the place for me.”
Tumblr media
The then up-and-coming young rider had been following Team S&M CX for a while, watching local icons like Beth Ann Orton and Megan Chinburg travel to races across the country and reading old race reports of how Rhonda Mazza had placed second at Nationals in toe-clips and running shoes. She re-watched Transitions 2 to find the scene where Tonkin’s Belgian fan club sings praises about his beard.
“This team seemed to carry a passion for racing and an easy-going character that I wanted to be surrounded by,” said Honsinger.
More recently, Honsinger raced on the road for Team EF Education-TIBCO-SVB. But as uncertainty swirled around some of the European and US teams this past summer, Honsinger pondered what was next, and she felt compelled to follow her heart.
“The move was clear. S&M is grounded and driven. The idea of returning made me feel giddy with excitement and genuinely happy,” said Honsinger.
Tumblr media
At Bikeflights, we’re looking forward to cheering on Clara Honsinger and all the rest of Team S&M CX throughout this season! Read the team’s full announcement from Team S&M CX.

Trifox frame

TRIFOX FRAME FULL
The Trifox was created in the year 2008 and was created by Jeff and Johnny. They are providing the best condition to their customer. Are you looking to buy a bike? Then it is better to approach the Trifox Bike to get a good condition bike. You need to check and verify the details of the company before buying a bike. But not every company is providing the best condition of a bike to the customer. Although the results are not publicly available, it has a few features that improve its aerodynamics, like the asymmetric frog-leg-muscle chainstay, asymmetrical bottom bracket shaft, or a wide front fork.Ĭhoose from 5 sizes (41, 44, 47, 51, or 55cm).Approach Trifox to Get the Best Mountain Bikesīikes are very essential to everyone which plays a vital role in the day to day life. This frame was, of course, tested in a wind tunnel. You can also opt for an integrated handlebar (contact Winspace customer support for more info) before placing your order. The good news is that the frame is available for both rim and disc brakes.
TRIFOX FRAME FULL
Winspace T1500 build – read the full T1500 review What about you, do you like it? Let me know in the comments below. I am a fan of some of its color options but not the logo. According to Winspace, T1500 doesn’t only look fast, it is fast. This UCI approved aero frame is ideal for pros or for avid cyclists who love speed. Take advantage of the extended warranty of 5 years and choose from 6 sizes. TIP: Browse the best Chinese carbon road bike handlebar to complete this frameset. Unfortunately, Vanyar doesn’t come with a handlebar, so you must buy it separately. This frameset includes seatpost and fork (365g), and it is ready for internal cable routing and electrical or mechanical groupsets. This is pretty cool because if you’ve ever seen Lord of the Rings, you’ve probably also seen Thranduil riding his elk. It reminds me of a road bike but also an elk. Elves Vanyar build – read the full Vanyar review The only thing I don’t like about the finish is that it includes some unnecessary decals on the top tube.īut, you can also submit a custom design if you don’t like the available color options. It’s available in multiple cool and unique color options, so if you like to stand out, this is your chance. NOTE: Only the rim version is UCI approved. It seems that Vanyar is an open mold frame because I saw it on the offer of other manufacturers already. If your dream is to build a super lightweight bike, you should consider getting the Vanyar frameset by Elves. Frame Weight: 750g (rim, 46cm size), 850g (disc, 46cm size). You can pick one of the 6 sizes (48, 52, 54, 56, 58, and 61cm) and also the handlebar size (stem length and handlebar width). Remember it’s available for disc brakes only. Just contact YOELEO’s customer support for more info and guidance. The color offer is the same as for other YOELEO frames, but you can also request a custom paint job. YOELEO R21 Build – read the full R21 frameset review R21 fits up to 28mm tires, ensuring great comfort, and thanks to the fully integrated headset, your build will be minimalistic and clean. You can think of it as S-Works SL7 and similar frames. It is perfect for flats, hilly, or mountainous terrain. Owners claim it is responsive and quick but also comfortable. It’s my favorite of all YOELEO framesets (unfortunately, it’s being phased out by YOELEO). Geometry: Somewhat aggressive stack and reachĪlthough YOELEO R21 looks like a hybrid (all-rounder) road bike frame, YOELEO markets it as an aero frame. You can choose from up to 7 sizes, including those suitable for short women and various colors. This feature is often not available with mainstream brands. Additionally, it is compatible with electric and mechanical groupsets.Īt YOELEO, you can choose handlebars width + stem length to ensure the best fit possible. This frameset is also ready for internal cable routing, making it look clean and modern. YOELEO R12 Build – read the full R12 frameset review It will handle rough roads and even light gravel well. The frame also has less aggressive geometry that’s more comfortable than on racing road bikes.Īlthough it is available only for disc brakes, this frame is highly versatile. R12 can accommodate up to 32mm wide tires, making it a pretty versatile road bike. This all-rounder frameset is the most popular YOELEO frameset. Women Cycling, UCI WOMENS TEAM 2021
With many years working with the female cyclists we have decided this year to step up and support a professional team to enable us to have our kit tested under continuous stress conditions and getting a constant feedback to continuously improve to the highest levels.
Therefore now please to announce the UCI has finally registered the team for the season 2021, which will be wearing a colourful kit resembling the Brasilian colours and also the various national champions in the team. At the moment we have 3 national champions that this will give us a great exposure for the brand on those countries.
Below is a bit of history about the team, but from now on you have a new team to support.
UCI WOMEN’S CONTINENTAL TEAM
MEMORIAL SANTOS SADDLEDRUNK
Created in 2000 from the initiative of businessman Pepe Altstut and the journalist Fábio Maradei, Memorial-Santos cycling team today is the most traditional Brazilian's team and have been won all the possible titles in road and track cycling in national territory.
After 20 seasons, more than 150 cyclists from all corners of the country - and some other countries in South America - wore the team's traditional blue uniform, between men and women.
Intending to develop Brazilian women's cycling in 2018 the team ran for the first time an European season. Having stayed for 3 months in Belgian soil. In 2019 we believed we were on the right way and got the UCI license for the first time! From 2020 so we started an even greater internationalization of our team with the entry of European riders. However we were unable to test ourselves on the roads due to the pandemic. For 2021 we are ready for a complete European season, being now the only UCI team in Latin America, we have improved the team with new and strong riders:
Adriele Alves Mendes from Brazil
Ana Paula Casetta from Brazil
Ana Paula Polegatch from Brazil
Anna Van Wersch from Netherlands
Denise Aracely Ahumada Riquelme from Chile
Gabriela da Costa from Brasil
Jennifer George from Great Britain
Minna-Maria Kangas from Finland
Lisa Groothuesheidkamp from Curacao
Selma Trommer from Germany
Sharon Dommanschet from Netherland
Taise Maiara Benato from Brazil
Talita Oliveira from Brazil
Thayna Araujo de Lima from Brazil

fanfic recommendations
for @kittensocute bc i heard “atsukita” and “iwaoi” in reference to fanfiction and i am There
i took your “i love slow burn or slow build fics... so i like relatively shorter burn fics (20-30k). If its a 10k oneshot slow burn hELL SIGN ME UP” and absolutely ran with it.
i listed my fav iwaoi fics (17) with a longer word count (longest is 80k) that are all mostly either canon compliant or divergent with only two straight up AUs. none of them feature heavy nsfw content and most if not all are tagged as friends to lovers lmao. feel free to read the my thoughts or just go into them blind!! and they’re all in order of how much I absolutely adore them :^)
now atsukita is not a big ship *sobs* but here are some of my favorite fics (7) of them! a lot of them are shorter bc i guess that’s just. what happens when it’s a small ship LOL.
the formatting in this is fucked if you open it from ur dash but if it’s on my actual blog it should be fine!
Iwaoi
the courtship ritual of the hercules beetle
Word count: 66k
thoughts: my absolute absolute absolute favorite iwaoi fic. the characterization, the fact that oikawa’s a bastard but because he and iwaizumi are older (late 20s i believe), it feels more realistic and sad rather than oikawa being a bitch for the sake of it. spoiler alert it’s slow burn and pining and mostly oikawa not realizing his feelings. this world building is pretty cool bc iwaizumi is the professional player while oikawa is an entomology professor! also i love non-linear narratives bc of This fic. there’s mutual pining in this fic but it’s really really really subtle to the point where you dont even know if oikawa likes iwa. this made me cry like twice.
sunset towns
Word count: 33k
Summary: In the summer of 2020, Oikawa Tooru returns home from his first successful stint as captain of Japan’s national volleyball team. In one hand, he holds the undisputed weight of an Olympic medal, and in the other, his unresolved feelings for a childhood best friend.
thoughts: the tone in this is So similar to the courtship ritual that I liken this as an alternate story even though it’s still oikawa’s pov. professional player oikawa and regular guy iwaizumi and oikawa is just. bumming around at iwaizumi’s place and naturally he messes up but things happen.
told before and told again
word count: 4k
thoughts: i looked through literally all the tags i could’ve thought of for this and nearly cried when i found it agian. outsider POV!!
In damp earth my body
Word count: 15k
Summary: Onscreen, the nation’s favorite setter has arranged himself so that he’s bowing, forehead pressed to the court, like he’s thanking everyone for their kindness thus far, like he’s asking for forgiveness. Hajime thinks: shit, it’s really happening
thoughts: oikawa retires and moves in with iwaizumi and they blur the line between roommates/best friends and being fwb. this is an iwaizumi pov and the pining is obvious on his end. as a iwa stan the tone made me feel weird bc it makes it seem like iwa cares more abt oikawa than he cares abt himself but. its a good fic
i grew up, you grew down
word count: 19k
thoughts: this is also SO funny bc basically oikawa retires and moves in with iwaizumi and becomes his stay at home wife and a bunch of shit happens like people think that oikawa is dating ushijima and oikawa basically loses it every time. here’s one of my favorite quotes:
“Oikawa also bought a new ultra-strength vacuum cleaner he’d decided to name Ushiwaka out of sheer spite, because it sucked all the air right out of the room. Iwa-chan didn’t think the joke was that funny when Tooru told him, which was frankly very hurtful and insensitive.”
Mint
Word count: 19k
thoughts: iwaizumi is moving and oikawa planned a perfect last hangout and it goes to shit featuring matsuhana. oikawa pov where he pines more than iwa which is something i can get behind!! and this was written in 2015 and iwa’s moving bc of a sports medicine program so iwaizumi stans know and love him sm ;;
Almost a Stranger
Word count: 16k
thoughts: same premise as mint LOL except they’re on a trip together and there’s more non-linear narrative!! this one is a little more mature in tone than mint i would say (funny how people just like splitting them up and throwing them in different countries huh)
with every second that you could give
Word count: 9k
Summary: The journey of Iwaizumi and Oikawa going for gold.
Quote: He knows they’re too close. Iwaizumi knows it too, and they both decided to move in together anyway.
thoughts: iwaoi roommates and they’re both obviously and really pine-y for each other and everyone sees it but them. srsly. they’re sleeping in the same bed. like my god
Lost in Translation
Word count: 9k
Summary: Because misfortune come in threes, Iwaizumi Hajime starts his Thursday having a screaming fight with Shittykawa, spends his lunch break listening to the UCI women’s volleyball team gossiping about how Ushijima Wakatoshi had gone public about his longtime love affair with Oikawa Tooru, and closes out the day by drunkenly dropping his phone into a sewer grate.
thoughts: so funny. so sososoosso genuinely funny. the tone is so snappy and iwaizumi honestly just sounds like a confused teenager (which he is in this) and it gets extra points for including a lot of american culture that a lot of the other iwaoi college au ones don’t include for like. obvious reasons lol.
Something Borrowed
Word count: 16k
Summary: In which Oikawa and Iwaizumi have always been a foregone conclusion to everyone else, but a massive, unanswered question to one another.
thoughts: iwaoi roommates thats abo but it’s like. mentioned twice. whiny and possessive oikawa makes an appearance in this but it’s done really well
things that change, things that stay the same
Word count: 8k
Summary: Oikawa realizes he’s in love with his best friend; it sucks for a while. (But only for a little while.)
thoughts: high school getting together!! my second iwaoi fic ever and this one is just. so sweet. just an unsure oikawa realizing iwaizumi might be more than someone he wants as a best friend. this fic is honestly really really lovely.
galaxies, within you
Word count: 21k
Summary: Hajime and Tooru move in together at the start of university. Too bad they’re stuck with the two gremlins that haunt their apartment.
thoughts: ok this fic was so funny. theyre uni roommates and matsuhana just come fuck shit up and they all act like idiots together even though they go to different schools. and this really throws me back to university days.
Thirty Years and Change (the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad)
Word count: 19k
thoughts: pro! oikawa and iwaizumi haven’t been close for a while until oikawa invites iwaizumi to go to the games with him. there’s a lot of frustration and pining and actually talking about feelings (aka iwaizumi losing his mind and getting advice from people like akaashi)
when it starts to rain, they go inside
Word count: 33k
Summary: “Where?” starts Iwaizumi.“ My parent’s old lakehouse, silly, didn’t you hear me the first time?” OR: Oikawa takes Iwaizumi to his lakehouse for two weeks, post-graduation.
thoughts: this was actually my first iwaoi fic which is funny bc the author doesn’t even like oikawa much and i didnt even ship anything in haikyuu before i read this fic and now im in iwaoi hell. oikawa is really frustrating in this in that it’s basically a really good character analysis on how oikawa comes off as a Mean person all the time bc he’s manipulative and there’s some explicit content
shiver
Word count: 16k
Summary: Oikawa was always the brave one. Hajime just followed two paces behind.
thoughts: iwaoi roommates with oikawa admitting his feelings first back when they were in middle school and iwaizumi putting that thought on the backburner until. obviously. things happen.
Desperado
word count: 80k
thoughts: one of my favorite aus. it’s all from kyoutani’s perspective and it’s almost so au that they’re original characters (if that makes sense). basically iwaoi matsuhana are ex-grifters except iwaoi are estranged and daishou somehow brings everyone back together. excellent world building and reading the pov from someone not involved with the iwaoi drama was refreshing
sing with me a song of conquest and fate
word count: 26k
thoughts: a mythical kings au that’s just. so pretty. iwaizumi ends up becoming oikawa’s servant for some reason and the world building is a+ because you can feel the trust and frustration from both of them build
Atsukita
dreams of me and you
word count: 10k (incomplete)
my second atsukita fic that rly sent me down atskt hell ;; what is essentially post-break up when atsumu gets signed to msby and he’s just Pining and sad for the most part. but the established relationship pre-break up was written really nicely because it just fits my hc of them just being domestic and atsumu being blatantly head over heels
take me home
word count: 4k
i read this this morning and it wrecked me. domestic relationship atsukita?? sign me up
No time like the rest of my life
word count: 19k
mythology au with kita as a regular person and rest of inarizaki as fox spirits! it’s cute and the world building is absolutely lovely but it is an au so they might seem ooc but their core character values are still there
wild blue yonder
word count: 6k
literally full of similes and metaphors and it’s more of an abstract read i guess? but it’s so beautiful and soft and this is exactly how i imagine their relationship
reap and sow
word count: 8k
atsumu confesses and kita ignores him and it’s a couple years after the fact and it’s mostly just weirdly domestic almost roommate like except for the fact that atsumu makes it clear he likes kita LOL. they’re really in character for this!
weightless souls
word count: 2k
pillow talk before atsumu’s first game! the atsumu pov and voice is amazing
if we were both alone
word count: 7k
now this was actually my first atskt fic that sent me down this rare pair hell. it’s an explicit chat fic (both tropes i usually try to avoid) but atsumu types like me (except for the nsfw parts alksfjd) so i guess i like. feel appreciation LMAO.
if you do read like any of these fics pls let me know so we can discuss

Peloton Magazine: Human Race: Coryn Rivera
With such expectations and her lengthening palmarès, Rivera is suddenly on the receiving end of serious questions about the state of women’s racing; and she has plenty to say—both about the gains the sport has made and the abyss it still needs to cross. “Awareness is growing, more people are asking for coverage, the fields are getting deeper,” she says[.]. “But the lack of coverage can be frustrating—it’s an embarrassment that instead of watching us on TV people are following an elite race by reading a mechanic’s tweets. The women’s races are really good; it’s not like so many men’s races where the top teams just bring back the break in a calculated way with 5 or 10K to go. But there’s no minimum wage and some really good racers have to do this as a hobby or a second job.”
Rivera takes a breath and tries to summarize. “Things are changing for the better,” she says. “Hopefully things will change faster now.”

Here’s another example for SheWon
ByReduxx Team
June 10, 2023
A trans-identified male has once again taken first place in the women’s category of a North Carolina cycling tour, adding to his expansive list of victories against female cyclists.
The Belgian Waffle Ride North Carolina took place today in Hendersonville, and participating in the women’s division was biological man Austin Killips. Killips, 27, identifies as a “woman” and has been competing in women’s cycling events since 2022, as reflected by his pro cycling profile.
During the 137-mile race today, Killips quickly took the lead in the female division, as demonstrated by highlights offered by Unroad UNLTD through Instagram.
Immediately after the race began, Killips seized first place, leading Unroad UNLTD to report only on the second and third place female riders for the first two updates in their monitoring of the women’s category.
Tumblr media
At the 13th mile mark, Killips was confirmed as having been in first place, with two female athletes — Paige Onweller and Flavia Oliveira — maintaining their second and third spots respectively.
During miles 55 through 59, Killips, Onweller, and Oliveira were grouped together with no concrete placing, and, shortly after and for a brief period of time, Onweller managed to claim the first place position.
But by mile 108, Killips had effortlessly slipped back into first place, and had begun to place significant distance between himself and the female riders. Nearing the finish line, Killips had a 5-minute head on his competitors.
While rolling through the finish line, the race commentator declared Killips had taken a “huge win.” No competitors appeared to be immediately behind him in the short clip uploaded to Instagram.
The race has since confirmed that Paige Onweller and Flavia Oliveira placed second and third respectively.
Tumblr media
Unroad UNLTD announcers referred to Killips as a “female” and a “woman” throughout their check-ins.
This is not the first time Killips has placed first in a women’s race.
In May, Reduxx reported that Killips had placed first in the Tour of the Gila, an internationally known top-tier cycling competition. Notably, the 2022 Tour was the first in the competition’s history where the prize money for both the male and female categories was equal. But following Killips’ win, two biological males walked away with the prize pots.
Disturbingly, Killips had previously been accused of attempting to push female cyclist Hannah Arensman off the racing course at the UCI Cyclocross National Championships in December of 2022.
One Twitter user shared a video of the incident that shows Killips trying to “put Arensman into the tape.” The user said it was one of at least three such attempts to push her off course, but the only one recorded on video, and had said Killips should have been disqualified for that move alone.
Tumblr media
Arensman, who was a 35-time winner in cyclocross racing, retired from the sport shortly after the controversy surrounding Killips attempting to push her off of the track during a women’s competition.
Arensman shared that she felt as though racing directly against male cyclists in women’s events had become so discouraging that she decided to end her cycling career.

Unlike in soccer or a host of other sports, cycling’s most prestigious race does not have a women’s competition. So for the last few years, a group of women have biked the same course as the men, one day before them, to draw attention to the issue. They climb the same mountains, endure the same bumpy cobblestone streets, and push through the same three-week course—only without the road closures and other benefits that make the men’s race a little easier.
Yet the lack of a women’s race on the Tour isn’t the only issue at hand. In recent years, women cyclists have begun to speak out about gender-based discrimination in the sport. “There is widespread institutional sexism in cycling culture,” former professional cyclist Iris Slappendel wrote in an April Outside magazine op-ed. “Women in the sport are groomed to believe that we don’t deserve as much media attention, prize money, or sponsorship investment.”
For example, whereas cycling’s international governing body requires that UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) World Tour male participants get paid at least 31,000 euros (US$36,000) per year, no similar requirement exists for women. According to survey data published in 2017, half of women in pro cycling earn $11,800 or less per year, and 17 percent receive no salary at all.
In 2017, cyclist Lizzie Armitstead shared her own stories of sexism with The Guardian—including being woken up by a senior manager for the men’s professional team and asked to dance with a male teammate for his birthday. Armitstead described other experiences of discrimination in her 2017 autobiography, including women having to borrow helmets from the men’s team.

Hello
Hello and Welcome everyone!
Before describing this blog, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Seung Min Yoo who is from South Korea. I have been living in the United States about three years to study in UCI. My biggest interest is women’s right, and since having interest in this, I have started to learn about feminism. As a woman, I feel grief and sadness of women who have experienced the social systems that discriminate against women. The gender inequality is still growing, and I believe that women would be able to protect women rights by their own power if they  work towards it together.
This blog is about why the abortion should be legalized and how women have suffered from the restricted rights. The following posts are all about supporting pro-abortion, and I hope those of you who have been in my blog support the pro-abortion and defend women rights all together. Thank you and hope everyone enjoys! :)

2023 Global Bike Festival Recap
Shredding trails, grinding gravel and conquering cols is what a few of us from Bikeflights did this past weekend, along with hundreds of other mountain bikers, gravel riders and roadies, in beautiful Saalbach, Austria. That’s where the world’s favorite bike channels – Global Cycling Network (GCN), Global Mountain Bike Network (GMBN) and Electric Mountain Bike Network (EMBN) – were hosting the Global Bike Festival, a second-year event that drew riders from all over Europe and beyond.
Tumblr media
We were there to take care of our Bikeflights customers from the US and UK who had shipped their bikes round-trip using our global shipping service to the stunningly scenic Alpine Valley. As the official bike shipping service of the Global Bike Festival, we had also helped GCN, GMBN and EMBN presenters get their bikes to and from Saalbach.
Tumblr media
Little did customers and presenters know that International Shipping Manager Brenna Clancy was onsite in Austria, directly overseeing their bicycle shipments. She was joined by fellow Bikeflights Marketing and Event Team Members Kerry Werner, Michael Potter and Sue George.
The Global Bike Fest kicked off a long weekend on Thursday with a full slate of master classes for attendees to learn and practice a variety of skills from track standing to jumping. Presenters joined in on the action not only to teach and encourage riders, but also to do what they do best: entertain.
Festival days 2 and 3 brought options for group rides and challenges. Roadies took on the famous Grossglocker climb, while gravity loving riders tackled the Big 5 Challenge descending five favorite local mountain bike trails. Gravel riders could explore some peaceful, Alpine backroads on their own or participate in the Glemmduro (race).
Tumblr media
Upon receiving our own bikes, we were eager to assemble them and sample the riding that the Saalbach-Hinterglemm Valley has to offer. Of course, we couldn’t go to the Alps and not bring bikes, so we shipped our own bikes, too. Before and during the Global Bike Fest, we enjoyed several chances to pedal up and down the local roads and trails. Our favorite ride involved a trip over to the Leogang Bike Park and two gondola rides and some singletrack.
It turns out that in and around Saalbach, no matter what bike you want to pedal, there are incredible views of snow-covered Alpine peaks to be enjoyed. Whether you opt to pedal to the top assisted or under your own power, we have just one piece of advice: remember to bring your camera!
When not riding, we were treated to talks by veteran riders like Marc Beaumont, who set an incredible world record for pedaling his bike around the globe in less than 80 days, and retired pro road racer Jens Voigt, who shared anecdotes from growing up in an East German sports school and racing in the Tour de France.
Tumblr media
Our Bikeflights Bike Boxes were featured in two of the challenges that were part of GCN’s Live Show, where the GCN and GMBN presenters competed against each other. Spoiler Alert: What we learned was that the mountain bikers turned out to be faster than the road cyclists in packing a bike into a Bikeflights Bike Box Large (BBL), and BBLs work pretty well for setting your much deserved beer on after you finish packing your bike!
Since the Global Bike Festivities wrapped up late Saturday night, and we had planned to stay until Monday to oversee the pickup of all the bikes being shipped back home, we were left with a bonus day to spend in and around Saalbach. There happened to be a UCI Mountain Bike World Cup happening on the other side of the mountain in Leogang. So we headed over to cheer on our favorite under 23 riders from one of our sponsored teams, the Bear National Team, and to watch the best elite men and women in the world race cross country.
Tumblr media
Congrats to all the Bear Team riders who raced, including Jack Spranger, Robbie Day, Daxton Mock and Cobe Freeburn! Shout outs also go to Bailey Cioppa, Lauren Lackman, Cayden Parker and Brayden Johnson, four additional Bear Team riders who were racing in national team kits on behalf of Team USA for the weekend.
Check out also our event video recap below.

What about transgender people in pro cycling? Too bad women have to train harder..?
That means any guy can go on exogenous anabolics to shut down his HPG axis and then submit his bloods to the UCI for ‘transgender approval’ but still compete as a man with the enlarged lungs and heart that most men have due to higher testosterone levels.
It is a joke haha. Maybe I should become transgender cyclist and win the womens world champs next year lol. Transgender according to the UCI just means a man with low T levels. Which any guy can do in a few days with certain hormones lol!
