WAYLON ... MY LOVELY BOY .... 

How I feel about this character: MY BOY . MY BOY . MY FLAWLESS MAN WHO I LOVE SO MUCH . I LOVE WAYLON !!! As much as I also love Miles , I think that Waylon managez to be just a little better as a protagonist ( sorry miles , you’re still doing great ) and he definitely managed to steal my heart as best character . I just really love teh entire way his personality is written -- he’z a gentle , polite person who just seemz to want teh best , but he isn’t some superhero or paragon or bravery , and he shouldn’t really be expected to be ! He’z just SOME GUY that took teh wrong job , and made teh right choice to leak info . Teh way his character is handled is great , you see him teetering between sympathy and becoming completely jaded , and teh people he does completely disregard are people that really do have it coming at that point . It really makez it feel like he’z being affected by all of teh shock and acute trauma . I could probably go on for paragraphz abt how much I love Waylon but I’ll make myself stop talking here for both of our sakez

All the people I ship romantically with this character: All teh people that split up Waylon and Lisa just for teh sake of Getting Lisa Out Of The Way(tm) are COWARDZ . Those two LOVE EACH OTHER and even though we don’t learn a lot about Lisa itz obvious from what we do get tht she carez a lot for Waylon and would fight anyone for him . Dey’re SWEET and I CARE ABOUT DEM !!! I also really enjoy Camerashipping because I’m incredibly weak for found family and traumatized characterz coming together and supporting each other and working on recovery together and I just think itz NEAT !! However I only accept Camerashipping under teh pretense that it Isn’t making Waylon cheat on Lisa . Teh real galaxy brain is Lisa teasing her husband for his obvious crush on deir weird nanoswarm-hosting roommate 

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I know that some people ship him with Blake , but in mine and @bandtrees ‘z post-canon interpretation/AU , Waylon just sort of awkwardly adoptz him as a sort of little brother / third child figure . Dis is his son now . If you even LOOK at Blake you will be beaten to death

My unpopular opinion about this character: BOY DO I HAVE OPINIONZ AND I HAVE A LOT OF DEM !!! That said , I’m gonna settle with teh fact that I can’t stand teh fandom’z tendency to make Waylon into a punching bag for gross kinkz , though that behavior seemz to be dropping off at least . I think Waylon is a GREAT character whose trauma is written in a very realistic , well-done way , and itz very aggravating to see some people in teh fandom ignore that in favor of using him to gratify some sexual violence fetish of deirz . It’z one thing to explore his trauma , it deservez to be explored , itz another thing entirely to write graphic r*pe fetish ficz bc some weirdoz somehow managed to misinterpret teh Vocational Block scenez as sexy and not terrifying . Be respectful of Waylon as a character or I will stomp you to death with my hoovez 

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.: I JUST WANT MY POOR MAN TO GET TEH CHANCE TO RECOVER !!! Wherever he is at dis point in canon I hope that he’z getting proper therapy and dealing with everything . He deservez a fuckin nap .
