Angels Ch1.1 - Eleanor x MC Fanfiction
Eleanor tries to adjust living in the 21st century with help from her girlfriend.

words: 2,077
You’re sitting on the passenger's side of Victor’s car, absentmindedly gazing at the scenery as snow gently flows outside the window, falling on top of the trees, giving them a powdery white cap. The car is quiet, a soft jazz song plays on the radio in time with Eleanor’s sighs from the backseat. You turn around and see her sleeping peacefully, obviously exhausted from today’s events. She’s lying down across the seats, your black jacket draped over her, both hands clutching the sleeve. You look at her sleeping form for a few moments and turn back to see Victor side eyeing you, a small smile on his face.
“What?” You whisper, not wanting to wake Eleanor.
Victor’s smile grows bigger. “So Eleanor, huh?”
You feel the heat rush to your face. “What about it?” You mumble, shifting in your seat.
“I don’t know, you tell me.” You feel Victor’s eyes on you and you want to make a quip about keeping eyes on the road but you can’t seem to find your voice.
“I-we kissed, and… stuff.” You quickly say, glancing back to check if Eleanor is still sleeping.
“You like her?”
Your gaze drifts back to the window, your mind instantly going back to the day at the manor. The way she easily got flustered when you flirted with her, the blush on her cheeks when you kissed, the feel of her body against yours, and the fact that she welcomed you to her home despite being a complete stranger. You’ve only known each other for a day and yet everything feels so right when you’re with her.
“Yes, more than i’d like to admit.”
\\
After a few minutes the forests turn to buildings as you near Hartfeld. You’re still looking out the window, watching the colors change at the intersection when Victor speaks again.
“Where’s she going to stay?”
You frown at the question. Truth be told, you don’t even know. All you know is that you had to get Eleanor out of that house, the logistics of the situation only dawning on you as you got back to the city.
“She can stay in my suite for a while,” you say with a nod. Your suitemates might not like it but it’s not like you could just leave Eleanor alone, “but we need to find her an apartment.”
Victor nods in agreement. “It’s going to be hard since it’s the middle of the school year, but I’ll ask around the coffee shop.” He makes a turn towards his street. “In the meantime, we better get her some clothes from this century.”
\\
Eleanor emerges from the bathroom in Victor’s pajama pants and a Knights shirt. She consciously crosses her arms over her chest as she caughts you staring from the sofa, having changed out of your 20th century clothing to a sweatshirt and jeans. “What is it, I look weird, don’t I?”
“No, no!” You hold your hands up and shake your head. “You just look, really amazing even in sweats. I’m just really baffled, because wow you’re really pretty.”
You cringe at your reply. You’re about to say something more subtle but Eleanor suddenly smiles shyly at you, her cheeks turning red at the compliment. She strides over and sits beside you, taking one of your hands. You smile at her and lean forward.
“Hey, oh!” Victor suddenly stops at the doorway, two steaming mugs on his hands. “Sorry to interrupt but here.” He crosses over the living room and hands you and Eleanor some tea. “Figured you could use some tea before we go back to Hartfeld” You and Eleanor mumble your thanks and Victor goes back to the kitchen, presumably to get his cup.
Once you’re alone again Eleanor looks up from her mug. “Go where?”
“Oh,” you shift in your seat to face her, “this is Victor’s apartment. I actually live in Hartfeld, where I study. Uhm, I figured you could stay with me for a while until we find you a place of your own. Uhm, if it’s okay.”
Eleanor frowns, her gaze dropping back to her mug. “Are you sure? I wouldn’t want to intrude-”
You wave her off-“You’re not intruding. And besides, you welcomed me into your home when I arrived, just think of it as me returning the favor. Also, I asked my roommates and they’re okay with it.”
Eleanor’s head quickly snaps back up. “Roommates?”
“Yeah,” you reply, giving Eleanor’s free hand a squeeze,”I actually live with five other people. I told them that you had to leave home abruptly because of problems and that you needed a place to crash for a few days. Uh, we should talk about that by the way. About what’s your story so people wouldn’t you know, suspect.”
Eleanor nods, she brings up the mug to her lips and takes a sip. “I suppose you’re right. What would you suggest?”
“Uhm, I wasn’t sure what was okay with you but what I said to my roommates was you were having some problems in your house and you had a row with your mother.”
“Yes, I suppose being murdered by my own mother does count as a row.” Eleanor replies with a grim smile.
Your eyebrows knit together in worry. “Eleanor-“
She shakes her head-“No need to worry, I’m quite fine. But yes, I can go with that story. As for my siblings,” she sighs loudly and puts her mug on the coffee table, “I’ll just say they died, suffered from tuberculosis or some other illness.”
“Eleanor,” you start again, but Eleanor shakes her head and turns to you.
“I’m fine.” She says in a thick voice. You’re about to argue but her eyes are looking at you, pleading, to just let it go, and by now you know better than to push Eleanor into talking when she doesn’t want to.
You squeeze her hand and give her a tight smile. “I’ll let it go, for now.”
\\
Your suitemates instantly love Eleanor.
It’s not really a surprise, Eleanor has this certain quality that draws people to her, like how she smiled when you first saw her and you instantly feel captivated by her. You stand by the fridge, watching her near the counter, surrounded by your housemates who kept asking her questions after questions. You think they’re enamored by how pretty she is or her old english accent, though judging by how they stare at her when she talks, you think it's the latter.
After a few moments, Eleanor looks more relaxed, her voice returning to its normal chipper. Your suitemates doesn’t ask any questions about her family, instead they ask about her hobbies and interests, something that Eleanor would gladly talk about. You quietly excuse yourself and go to your room, hanging the garment bag that contains Eleanor’s old dress behind your door and putting your backpack by your bed. You return to the kitchen and Eleanor’s gaze instantly turn to you. She gives you a soft smile, beckoning you to come over. You walk over them and intertwine your fingers with Eleanor’s as you smile shyly at her. The moment of course, did not go unnoticed by your suitemates.
They start asking questions about the two of you. How did you two meet? We’ve known each other for a while, Eleanor answers confidently. What do you like about her? Eleanor turns to you, a twinkle in her eye. She’s very… determined, she answers, still keeping her gaze locked at you.
“She’s also really pretty, yeah? Even if she’s annoying as fuck.” One of your suitemates ask.
Eleanor blushes profusely and looks down, a small smile on her lips. “Very.”
You feel yourself turn red and you look away, biting your lip to stop from grinning like an idiot, because yeah, the girl you like thinks you’re very pretty, you don’t even care that your suitemates called you annoying.
“Did you guys kiss already?”
Eleanor’s face turn redder than it already is as she tries to stammers out an answer. You put an arm around her shoulders and draw her close, turning to face your suitemates.
“Okay guys!” You say, shooting a glare at them. “We had a really long day so, I think we should get some rest.” It’s true though, it’s already past one in the morning and with everything that’s happened, you just want to sleep for ten hours straight.
Your housemates each bid goodnight to Eleanor, who in turn thanks them profusely for letting her stay. You guide Eleanor to your room, shutting the door behind you as she steps forward, looking around the space. She walks toward your desk, crouching a bit to stare at your posters.
“You must have, like a million questions.” You say, your back still pressed behind the door.
She straightens her back turns to you. “A lo-” Her reply is cut off by a yawn. She’s just as exhausted as you are.
You smile at her as you take a step forward. “We can get to the questions tomorrow but for now,” you gesture to your bed, “You need to sleep.”
Eleanor nods and makes her way to your bed. You turn back to the door. “Goodnight Eleanor, I’ll be outside if you need me.”
A hand on your wrist stops you from opening the door. You turn around and see Eleanor reaching out to you, eyes covered in worry. “Where are you going?”
You grab her hand, your thumb stroking the inside of her wrist. “I figured I would sleep in the couch, give you some space.”
Eleanor frowns and she shakes her head. “That’s unacceptable, this is your home-”
“-It’s fine,” You quietly interject, “I’ve slept there hundreds of times.”
Eleanor doesn’t say anything. She just keeps her head down, keeping a tight grip on your fingers, the moonlight dancing against her pale skin. In this moment she looks so much younger, she doesn’t look like someone who’s endured a century of burdens, all the hardness from her, gone. In this moment she’s just like you, an 18 year old girl who’s scared and lonely and your heart aches for her.
“Would it make you feel better if I stayed here with you?”
Eleanor nods, still looking down. You guide her to the bed, lifting the covers up and lying down. You pat the spot beside you and Eleanor lies down beside you, a respectable amount of distance between your bodies. After a few seconds of silence, you fumble through the dark, reaching for her. She finds your hand and you pull until her head is resting on your chest. You hear her sigh contentedly.
“I must apologize,” Eleanor whispers through the darkness, “I must look so desperate.”
You shake your head, pulling her closer to you. “You don’t need to be sorry. It’s okay to not want to be alone.”
Eleanor nods and you feel her breath on your neck, making the ends of your hair stand up. Suddenly you don’t feel exhausted anymore. “Your heart.” Eleanor’s hand rests on top of your chest, just by your heart. “Why is it beating so fast?”
Honestly you have no idea. It’s not like you’re doing anything, you’re literally just sharing a bed with Eleanor and you slept with her the night before so you don’t know why you’re so nervous. But at the same time it’s Eleanor. The same Eleanor that kissed you like there’s no tomorrow, the same Eleanor that looked at you with so much adoration despite only knowing each other for a day. The same Eleanor that, as cliche as it sounds, makes you feel like there’s butterflies in your stomach.
You chuckle nervously. “It’s not everyday that I get to have a pretty girl in my bed.”
You could almost feel her blush against your neck, saying nothing. You place a small kiss on the top of her head. “I feel like I’m the one who needs to apologize. My bed is really small and I know it’s not like what you’re used to in the mano-” You’re suddenly cut off by the feel of her lips against your own. You wrap your arms around her neck and deepen the kiss.
After a few moments, Eleanor pulls away and goes back to resting her head on your chest. “Darling, don’t apologize.” She presses a kiss on your neck and you try to suppress a shiver.
“There’s no place i’d rather be.”

No One Else - Kaitlyn x MC Fanfiction
How Kaitlyn and MC should have reconciled in Book 2 chapter 15.
( I wrote this because the actual reconciliation scene felt too.. causal for me. It's like "Hey!" "Hey, sorry btw!" then it's all good. Now I know Kaitlyn is a huge romantic so I thought that it would be in character if she did this whole grand gesture to ask for MC's forgiveness instead of ya know, that boring ass convo that we got)

Life is too short to hold grudges.
James words from earlier stay in your head, repeating itself like a mantra as you enter the suite. You slam the door loudly, the exhaustion of trudging through the snow settling in. You take off your scarf, keeping your jacket on. Turning around, you see Abbie and Zack staring at you from the sofa.
“Hey guys,” you say quickly, walking past them to the hallway. Normally you’d stop and chat but you’re literally on a mission right now, “I’ll talk to you later I just have to do some-”
The rest of the sentence gets stuck in your throat as see the door to your room opening. Kaitlyn comes out and shuts it quietly behind her.
“Kaitlyn?”
Kaitlyn’s head snaps up to look at you, her eyes wide at being caught. You take a step towards her, a tentative smile on your face.
“Watcha doin?”
“Hey,” Kaitlyn whispers, a tight smile on her face. “Can we talk?” She glances behind her and and her smile disappears. “Privately?”
You turn around and see Abbie and Zack pretending not to listen. “Sure, let’s talk in my room.”
This is it, you think to yourself. Kaitlyn’s about to break up with you because you kept forcing her to do something she’s not comfortable with. You try to blink back the tears that are starting to form in your eyes. So much for resolving issues tonight.
Kaitlyn opens the door and ushers you inside. You step into your room and immediately gasp because there, in the middle of your room, was a giant fort. A bunch of blankets draped over your bed and desk chairs, the inside filled with pillows, and a bunch of fairy lights that you realize came from Kaitlyn’s room are strung around the edges. In front of the fort is Kaitlyn’s laptop, a song softly playing from it’s speakers, and a tub of ice cream beside it.
You take another step forward and hear the door close behind you.
“Kaitlyn,” You turn around and see Kaitlyn looking at you with a worried expression on her face. “What’s this?”
Kaitlyn shrugs as she walks over to where you are. “An apology, if you’ll have it.”
You frown because Kaitlyn doesn’t need to apologize. “Kaitlyn, I-”
“-I’m sorry.” Kaitlyn cuts you off, her voice thick. You say nothing and let her continue. “Sorry because I didn’t mean to cut you off.”
You shake your head. “You have every right to cut me off. I’m sorry about being so pushy about you coming out.” You take a deep breath, trying to remember the speech that you practiced while walking home. “I only wanted to be there for you. I could see that you were hurting, and I thought that I could help. I was focused on trying to be a supportive girlfriend that I didn’t pay attention to what you actually needed from me.”
Kaitlyn steps forward to your space, the smell of her perfume lingers in the air. “Working through all those emotions was something that I needed to do alone,” her lips quirk up into a small smile. “But I’m really grateful to know that you care about me that much.” The smile disappears as she sighs loudly. “You have been nothing but good to me. I’m really, really, sorry about everything.”
“Kaitlyn,” you say with a frown, “you have nothing to apologize for.”
“Don’t I?” Kaitlyn says sadly. “I shut you out when you were only trying to help me.”
You sigh. “Kaitlyn, I know how hard this is has been for you. Coming out is a really big thing and I’ve been there too. I understand that you needed time to yourself.”
Kaitlyn shakes her head. “But I was way too harsh! I was upset about my parents and I took it out on you!”
“Kaitlyn,” You say softly. “Kaitlyn, look at me.”
Kaitlyn looks up, her eyes softly brimming with tears. You put your hand on her arm and look at her with a determined expression on your face.
“I get it, okay? Coming out is stressful for everyone, and with what happened with you, being outed to your parents before you were ready? You were allowed to be upset. I’m just sorry that instead of helping you I ended up hurting you.”
Kaitlyn nods as she wipes her eyes with the back of her hand. “They called me the other day.”
You give her a comforting smile. “Yeah, how did it go?”
“Better than I would have thought,” Kaitlyn says with a grin, “My dad actually apologized. He’s still adjusting and I don’t think he’s entirely comfortable with, you know, the gay thing, but he said that he loves me no matter what and that we’ll work it out.”
“Oh, wow. That’s a huge relief!”
Kaitlyn nods, the smile still on her face. “I told them about us.” Kaitlyn looks at you, an adoring expression on her eyes. “I told them that whenever I’m with you, everything feels just right. For the first time in my life, I don’t have to hide who I am. I don’t even have to think about it.” She takes a deep breath, “All I know is that I’m the happiest I’ve ever been and there’s no one else I’d rather be with.”
You bite your lip to stop yourself from smiling too hard. “Kaitlyn.” You take her hand, lacing your fingers between hers. Your other hand reaches inside your jacket and pulls out a slightly rumpled bouquet of roses. “There’s no one else I’d rather be with, too.” You say softly, handing her the roses.
“Oh, they’re beautiful.” Kaitlyn let’s go of your hand to admire her roses. “Am I forgiven?” She asks, shyly looking at you.
“There’s nothing to forgive.”
“Let me at least make it up to you by taking you to the boat dance.” She asks, eyes hopeful.
You grin at her. “Of course. It’s a date.”
Kaitlyn lunges forward, wrapping an arm around you. You wrap your arms around her waist and kiss her cheek. After a few moments she pulls away.
“I also built you a fort, to say sorry. And got your favorite ice cream, I also figured we could watch those sitcoms you like while catch-”
You cut her off with a kiss, tangling your hands in her hair. The bouquet drops to the ground with a thud and you feel Kaitlyn’s hands on your waist as she deepens the kiss. You pull away and tuck a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Come on,” you say, leading Kaitlyn to the fort. “Let’s catch up. Not talking to you has literally been killing me.”

MC description
“One chocolate chip blizzard for Alex.”
“Oh! That’s me.” You jump off the chair and walk to the counter. The cashier hands you the cup of ice cream and you grab it, thanking him. You walk towards the door to where your parents are waiting outside, the heat instantly piercing your skin as you step out the air conditioned store. So that’s why there were so many people inside, it’s hot as fuck out here. You muse, scooping a spoonful of chocolate ice cream in your mouth as you walk to the tree where your parents are talking, a pile of shopping bags by their feet.
“What took you so long? We were melting here.” Your mom teases.
You shrug. “Long line. Want some?” you ask, gesturing to the cup.
“We’re about to have dinner.” Your dad says as he bends down to pick up the bags.
You look at your watch, it’s a quarter to six. This is the last weekend you’re spending at home before you go back to Hartfeld so your parents decided to make the most of it with a shopping trip. You shrug again as they walk towards the parking lot. “More for me, then.”
“Ooh, honey look.” Your mom points to the window display of a music store that you both went to the other day. “That’s the new store I was telling you about, the one where Alex bought the vinyls for Kaitlyn.”
Your dad peers into the display, he’s been collecting vinyls for as long as you can remember and he has a pretty impressive collection. “Alex, I didn’t know that Kaitlyn likes vinyls, too.”
“I actually-” Your reply is cut off when your phone rings in a familiar tune. You fish your phone out of your pocket and see Kaitlyn’s face on the lock screen. Speak of the devil.
“We’ll wait in the car.” Your mom says as she and your dad continue walking. You nod and hit the answer button.
“Hey, gorgeous.” The voice on the other line drawls, making her accent more pronounced.
“That’s my line,” You replies with a laugh. “and you don’t even know if I’m gorgeous today.”
Kaitlyn scoffs. “You always look gorgeous. Even when you’re drooling on my shoulder.”
You feel herself blush, and it’s not because of the weather. “Even when I’m covered in ice cream and sweaty from the New Jersey heat?”
“Definitely when you’re covered in ice cream.”
“Well, thank you. I think you’re pretty okay, too.”
Kaitlyn laughs. “You haven’t seen me today. Oh, that reminds me. Watcha doing later?”
“Hm,” You walk past the shops, phone in one hand and your ice cream that’s slowly turning to soup in the other. “Just dinner. Why?”
“I have a surprise.” Kaitlyn says slyly. You can literally feel that mischievous smirk of hers over the phone.
“Oh?” You feign innocence. “What kind of surprise?”
“You’ll just have to find out. So, Skype later?”
You stop walking and lean against the wall of the cafe. “I’ll see if I can fit you in my schedule. I do have my nightly Netflix binge scheduled later. Then, I have my 10 step Korean skin care routine-”
“Alex!”
You laugh loudly. “You’re too cute. Of course I’ll be there.”
“Great! Just text me when you get home so I can get ready.”
You arch an eyebrow. “Get ready? Kaitlyn Liao what kind of surprise is this?” You ask in a scandalized voice.
“Oh hush,” she says over the line. “I know what you’re thinking.”
“What am I thinking then?”
“You’re thinking,” Kaitlyn pauses as she pretends to think for a moment. “if the surprise includes clothes or the lack thereof.”
You laugh again. “You got me. So, does it?”
“That’s for me to know,” Kaitlyn replies, the teasing evident in her tone “and for you to find out.”
\\
It’s 9 in the evening. You texted Kaitlyn the moment you got home and she said that she’ll call you at around 9. You’re now in your bedroom lying on your stomach, headphones in, laptop in front of you, trying to pass the time by browsing the net. At around 9:15 the sound of an incoming video call interrupts you from the article you were reading. You press answer and smooth your hair with one hand.
The background of Kaitlyn’s room greets you, but no Kaitlyn. You see the different posters plastered on her wall and her wrought iron headboard, a string of fairy lights glowing softly.
“Uh, hello?” You call out. No one answers and you quickly type into the chat box.
AlexiNator [9:17 pm]: hey, are u there
AlexiNator [9:17 pm]: ?
You grab your phone to call her, but as you’re unlocking it, you hear voices. You amp your volume up and could hear Kaitlyn talking to her mother you think? They’re talking in Mandarin and you don’t understand a word they’re saying aside from various phrases that you’ve heard Kaitlyn repeat several times like mom and yes. Your ears even pick out your name from their conversation. After a few minutes you hear the door close and the camera shakes a little as Kaitlyn gets on the bed.
“Hey, you there?” You hear her voice from behind the camera.
“I’m here.”
“Oh good. Sorry about that. I called you and my mom suddenly wanted to have a conversation. I thought she was never going to leave.”
“That’s okay,” You reply. “Uhh, what are you doing behind the camera?”
“Oh!” The camera shakes again as Kaitlyn presumably jumps on her bed. “It’s part of your surprise! Are you ready?”
“Yes I am. Now get your cute butt in front of the camera so I can see your pretty face.”
“Okay but.” You hear Kaitlyn take a deep breath. “You have to promise me something first.”
“Anything.”
“You have to promise that you’ll still love me no matter what.”
“Kaitlyn,” You say slowly. “What did you do?”
“You’ll see in a sec. Promise me first.”
You nod even though she can’t see you. “Okay, I promise to love you no matter what.”
“Now close your eyes.”
“What?”
Kaitlyn huffs. “Just close your eyes for a while then open them when I say so.”
“Do I really need to?” You could though, it’s no problem, but you also really like teasing Kaitlyn. It makes her all huffy and cute.
You could feel Kaitlyn rolling her eyes. “Don’t make me beg, Alex.”
“I don’t know,” You say smugly. “I kind of like it when you beg.”
“Shh!” Kaitlyn says sternly, but you can almost hear her laugh. “Not so loud. My parents might hear and I so don’t want them to know that I do.. that.”
“Can they really?”
“I don’t know. Maybe? They’re psychic like that. Now come on. I’m not going to beg but I promise to make it worth your while.”
“Now we’re talking.” You put your hands over your eyes. “Okay, I’m ready.”
“Okay.” You hear some shuffling as you assume Kaitlyn takes her place in front of the camera. “On three okay? One, two, three!”
You quickly remove you hands and look at the screen. There in front of you is Kaitlyn, wearing a blue tank top, half of her hair chopped off. You feel your jaw drop as you literally stare at your girlfriend and her new hair. The tips end at her neck, leaving her shoulders exposed. You trail your eyes down the smooth skin of her shoulders and back to her eyes, the same eyes that are currently looking at you with a worried expression.
“So?” She says shyly, tucking a strand of short hair behind her ear. “What do you think?”
“I think,” You look at her hair again. Not even bothering to hide the fact that you’re literally ogling your girlfriend. “I think you look fucking amazing.”
Kaitlyn smiles, she turns her head to the sides, showing you her hair. “For real? You’re not saying that just because you’re my girlfriend?”
“For realsies.” You answer. “So, wow, how did this happen?” You ask gesturing both hands at the screen.
Kaitlyn shrugs as she looks down. “I don’t know. Just, with everything that happened the past year. I’ve been through so much and I just feel like more myself, you know? I don’t have to hide anymore. So I thought that maybe a new look can commemorate the new Kaitlyn. So I went to the salon yesterday and told ‘em to just chop it off.” She looks back to you with a grin. “You really like it?”
You nod enthusiastically. “I love it. It suits you. I can’t wait to see you in a few days.”
“Me too. In the meantime,” Kaitlyn’s smile turns into a smirk. “Lock your door.”
“I- what-” Your reply is quickly cut off when Kaitlyn suddenly pulls her top over her head, leaving her in a black bra. You feel your jaw drop again as heat flushes to your skin at the sight of your girlfriend in her underwear. “What,” Your voice drops down to a whisper. “Kaitlyn, what are you doing?!”
Kaitlyn shrugs as she runs a hand over her disheveled hair. “I said I would make it worth your while, remember?”
“What about your parents?” You stammer out, your room suddenly feeling a hundred degrees hotter.
“They went out when I started talking to you. They won’t be back in a few hours. Now come on, do you want me to make it up to you?”
Instead of answering you yank your headphones and jump to your door. You lock it and run back to your bed. You quickly put your headphones back on and face a smirking Kaitlyn.
“Great,” Kaitlyn says in a low voice as she reaches behind her and unclasps her bra. “Let’s get this show started.”
