Woke up early today and checked emails abd other work stuff and since I don't have classes, I decided to work on this kit. HGAC Gundam Heavyarms. I skipped getting this kit so many times thinking it's not worth my time and effort but boy I was wrong. It's a complete step up from the old non grade 1/144 kit they used to sell in the 90s. Since I was able to reduce my current backlog to just 4 kits(pending 2 more in transit), I figured I'd start working on some panel lines. Beginning with my HG kits firsts, I decided to work on the Core Gundams and the Planet Armor system. Done with the Mercone Gundam and Veetwo Gundam. Tomorrow Earthree and Marsfour, and perhaps the Juptive as well. Assessments are rolled out, submissions are next week and I have prepared for face to face assessments this week so I have sunday as free time. Free time means build time. Finally got to work on this weird, moebius zero lookalike. Maneuver striker pack for MG Eclipse Gundam, another PBandai. The build is a little underwhelming and repetitive but it looks insane on the Eclipse. Definitely makes it more like a Seed suit, with all its pointy bits. I dunno. Someone pointed out that older gundam designs are just the suit and some backpack, or cool looking weapons while Seed suits are the ones with enormous backpacks with wings and boosters and cannons all over. Slightly true, or maybe not. Monday was a little idle yesterday so I decided to work on this recently built kit. HGAW Gundam Airmaster. Applied some paints on small details, mainly black, red, grey, and a tiny bit of luminous green. And then reapplied panel lines and rest it overnight. After my classes today, I then started cleaning it up and now, it's ready for display. Working with your hands with something is therapeutic. It's Friday and I only have asynchronous classes so while I was answering queries via chat and email, I was working with this kit. HGAC Shenlong Gundam. I probably had the best experience with this among the other HGAC kits. The plastic is different and much easier to clean. Although I'm a little bummed about the huge stickers for the green circles on the shoulders, I guess it's just the way it is. It is an HG kit after all. And now, Operation Meteor is assembled. Should I continue working through my backlog or should I go back and start doing panel lines on my previous snap-builds? My Operation Meteor units are complete. I am thinking whether or not to get the PBandai upgraded ones but since they're PBandai, I probably be able to hunt them one by one for the next couple of years. But at least the 5 original and the Wing Zero is here. I remember coming home from school on or before 5pm just to make sure I'll be able to turn on the TV and watch it. It was, effectively, my introduction to Gundam. I was 9. A lot of my memories from when I was 9 were a little blurry but one thing I clearly remember, I was obsessed with Gundam. I got my first kit as a Christmas gift. And since then I was all about gundam. Gundam Seed and 00 reignited my love for it. And now that I'm 33, I am still all about Gundam. I haven't been able to write about it because of some hurtful and misguided comments of my peers about my writing but in time, I will. And I'll definitely write a Filipino mecha novel.
